All I feel around me is strong protective arm's. I'm safe. Is what keeps going around in my head as I bury my face in his chest and clutch his shirt in both my fists while I sob my heart out. He'll never let anything happen to me again. I don't hear him talking to me over my sobs but I feel his chest vibrate with each word and I feel his arm's holding me close as his hand cradles my head. With each breath I take I smell him, my safe haven, my bestfriend, my Shaw.
"Baby you have to stop now. Your going to make yourself sick. Shhhhh, shhhhh." I feel his words as they leave his chest and I try to calm down but I can't.
To many memories are mixing with what happened today and I just can't stop. Shaw seems to since this and without another word he bends down and lefts me into his arms. I'm cradled close to him as he walks us back to the car.
My face is buried in his neck while I'm still sobbing. I know he's pissed I can feel it in how he's walking and carrying me but he doesn't let his emotions spill out into me and for that I'm grateful.
"I need to put you down so I can get you into the car." Shaw explains but this just has me hanging on to him harder while I'm shaking my head no.
"Pp pp please d d don't l l let m mme gggoo." I sob out.
" Oh baby never. Never. I just need to get you in the car then we'll go home ok." Shaw says softly. I nod my head yes. Which at this moment is all I'm capable of. With my agreement Shaw lowers my feet to the ground.
As my feet touch the ground I hear his voice calling,
" Shaw wait up, man. I need to ask you something."
When I hear this I start to shake again and I try to shrink into myself. I just can't face him right now or ever. His voice makes the fresh memories come rushing right back up and with that my stomach starts to churn and before I know it I'm double of puking.
"What the fuck did you do to my girl?" Shaw's voice vibrates with a deadly tone.
" Me? I've come here to see if you have seen Shawn." Aidoneus says back.
Yep looks like he's going to deny what he has done. Ducking figures.
After I'm done I reach a shaking hand out to the car door to open it up but I'm stopped my a honey toned hand.
"Shawn, babygirl we have to talk. Let's go somewhere to talk. Just to talk." Aidoneus says to me. All I can see is his hand touching mine and it makes my skin crawl. So I snatch it back and cradle it to me as if he broke it.
"Please baby." He tries again but I'm shaking my head not looking at him. I'm physically folding in on myself to make me a smaller target but he keeps trying.
The next thing I know is he's kneeling down on the ground to look me in the eyes, I try to look away but I'm caught in a trance and all I can see is his eyes and the pain there.
"I'm so sorry babygirl. I lost my head in there. I didn't mean to hurt you. And I'm so fucking sorry I scared you like this. This will never happen again just come with me, I'll take care of you." His voice is hypnotic and I find myself leaning toward him but then I feel a warm hand on my shoulder and a whispered voice saying,
"Don't baby. I'm right here your not alone." Shaw my mind latches on to his words and whatever Aidoneus did is broken and I turn towards my friend and say,
"Please take me home. I don't ever want to see him again."
With that Shaw places himself between me and Aidoneus then opens the door so I can get into the car. As he's shutting the door I hear,
"What the fuck did you do? She has burses on her and she scared to the point of being physically sick. What the fuck Aidoneus. " Shaw's voice is low but full of emotion.
"I just wanted to talk to her and I fucking lost it. Fuck. Shaw I just fucking lost it. I didn't mean for this to happen. Just give me time to fix this. I just need time." Aidoneus sounds like he's on edge but I honestly don't care.
Shaw lowers his voice even more and tells him,
"You can't fix this cousin. This isn't the first time someone thought to force her but this by gods will be the fucking last time. She's not yours and you just proved it to me and you. You would have never treated your wife like this no matter what. No look at her and look hard at what you done. She'll never go near you now."
I have no idea what that's supposed to mean but I reach a shaky hand out and lock the door. And then I turn my back to both of them and curl into a small ball on the front seat.
I should have never gotten out of bed today.
