Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

Narration by Ms Elizabeth Claude

August 22, 1971

Things are going very well for the bloody fang.

Florence is an excellent musician, and we all love her.

It's like she was always a part of the family.

Margaret seems happier than ever.

"Hello everyone," I said, "Thank you for coming out tonight. My name is Elizabeth, and these are my friends.

Felicia plays the bass.

Jessica plays the drums.

And Florence and Margaret both guitars.

I played keyboard.

"We are the bloody fang."

"Yeah," said Felicia, "Come on, let's rock."

"Alright," I said, "Let's play the song, 'Stuck in the Middle With You.'"

"Yeah," said Margaret, "Let's do it."

"One, two, three, four."

We started playing the song.

"This is my favorite song," said Florence, "It's so good."

"Thanks," said Jessica, "We are glad you like it."

Next we played Johnny B Goode.

"Thank you," I said, "Now, we are going to sing the song, 'Hound Dog'

"Alright," said Felicia, "Come on, let's do it."

"Yeah," said Jessica, "This is a good one."

"One, two, three, four."

We started playing the song.

"I love this song," said Florence, "Its so catchy."

While we were playing, I noticed a few strangers in the audience.

They were staring at Florence.

"Hey," I said, "Who are those guys over there? They are staring at Florence. I have never seen them before. I don't think they are locals."

"Yeah," said Margaret, "Their energy doesn't feel right. They seem dark and twisted. We better keep an eye on them."

"Hey," said Felicia, "Look over there."

"What is it?" I asked.

"It's those strange guys again. They're heading backstage. This can't be good."

"Come on," I said, "We better get back there."

We ran backstage and saw the strangers.

"Hey," said the leader, "Where is she? Where's Florence?"

"Who wants to know?"

"She was in your band," said the leader, "And now, we are here to collect her, to correct our mistake."

"Mistake?" Said Margaret, "What the hell are you talking about? Are you the ones who tried to kill her?"

"Yeah," he said, "And we will try again. Hand her over. She is not worthy of being a vampire."

"Not gonna happen," said Margaret, "Florence is my sister. She belongs with us."

Jessica snarled at the men.

"So you're the ones who betrayed her after she made you into vampires?"

Jessica's eyes turned blood red as her canine teeth and fingernails grew.

I began to grow furious as I looked at the strangers.

They were the ones who abandoned Florence and tried to kill her.

They were the ones who made her feel unwanted.

They were the reason why she was suffering.

My nose was growing.

I couldn't control my anger.

I was turning into a wolf.

"Oh," said the leader, "Looks like we have a werewolf. That's interesting."

Felicia also began to change.

Her body became covered with hair.

Her hands turned into paws.

She was a wolf.

"Another werewolf," he said, "Well, this is going to be fun."

He turned to his friends.

"Take care of them. I will handle Florence."

The men opened their mouths and their canine teeth grew long.

"Alright!" Said Margaret, "If it's a war you want, it's a war you'll get!"

I ran at one of the vampires and clawed his face.

Jessica jumped on another one and bit him in the throat.

Felicia tackled a third vampire and bit into his neck.

"Ahhhh!"

The leader starred at Margaret as he waved a large wooden stake.

"Now," he said, "Let's do this."

"Wait," said Florence, "Please, stop! I know you."

The leader paused.

"You are my friends. Why did you try to kill me?"

"Because," he said, "You're not worthy of being a vampire. We should have killed you when we had the chance."

Margaret smiled at the leader with blood lust in her eyes.

"Come and get one in the balls....if you have any balls, that is."

The leader ran at Margaret.

"Ahhhhh!"

Margaret and the leader struggled for control over the stake.

"Die!" The leader cried.

He stabbed the stake into Margaret's chest.

"Aah!"

Margaret collapsed to the floor.

The leader laughed.

"See," he said, "You were not worthy. You are just a filthy human, who deserves nothing."

Florence jumped on the leader's back.

"Get off of me," he said, "you brat!"

Florence brought a small knife across the leader's throat.

"Aaaaah!"

The leader dropped the stake and fell to the floor as Margaret pulled the stake out.

"Leave my sister alone!" Yelled Florence, "I was the one who made you, I can also destroy you! No one hurts my sister."

The leader's friends were badly wounded.

"Here's your toy back with my regards!" Said Margaret as she pushed the stake into the leader's heart.

"No!" He cried, "I...I can't die. I won't die."

The leader stopped moving as the blood poured out of his throat.

"Get an axe! Cut his head off!" Yelled  Florence.

"What?" Asked Felicia.

"Trust me," said Florence, "If you want to destroy a vampire, you have to cut off their head or they will come back. Please, help me! I want to see his head roll on the ground. It's the only way."

"Okay," said Felicia, "You heard her. Go find an axe. Quickly."

"Right," said Jessica.

Fortunately, there was a fire axe in the hallway.

Jessica brought the axe and handed it to Florence.

"Thank you," she said, "This will work just fine. Now, watch. After you stake him, you have to cut his head off."

Florence raised the axe over her head.

"Aaaaaaaah!"

The axe came down on the leader's neck.

His head rolled across the floor.

"There," said Florence, "That should do it. Now, let's do the others."

We chopped the heads off of the other vampires.

"Was that all of them?" Asked Jessica.

"I believe so," said Margaret, "Come on, let's clean up this mess. Any ideas on how to get rid of the bodies?"

"Yes," said Florence, "We cut them up and put them in garbage bags. Then, we dump them in a river. They won't be found."

"Alright," said Margaret, "Let's get to work."

We chopped the bodies into pieces and put them in trash bags.

Then, we dragged the bags outside and loaded them into a wagon.

After loading the wagon, we headed down the street.

"I'm so sorry," said Florence, "I had no idea those men would come after us."

"It's okay." I said as a scrubbed the blood off of the floor, "I am sorry they hurt you and left you for dead. We would not let that happen again. But, don't worry, we took care of them. It's all over."

"Thank you," said Florence, "You are the best friends a girl could ask for. But there are more members of my coven out there. They may try to come after us again. So, what should we do?"

"We fight them," said Felicia, "If they come after us, we will fight them. Don't worry, we are not afraid of anything."

"I hope you're right," said Florence, "Remember I'm in the body of a six year old girl, I'm not as strong as the rest of you. I wish I was older when I was made a vampire."

"Poor sis," said Margaret, "You were only six when you were made. This is the body you will have forever. We have no choice but to fight if the need arises. Don't worry, we will protect you."

"Okay," said Florence, "Thank you. I love you all. You are the best family a girl could ask for."

"We love you too," said Jessica, "Come on, let's go home."

"Alright," said Florence, "I'm tired. I want to go to sleep."

After getting rid of the body parts, we returned our room.

We got into the coffin and locked the lid.

Florence crawled over to Felicia.

"May I sleep next to you, please?"

"Sure," said Felicia, "Of course."

"Thanks," said Florence.

She snuggled next to Felicia and put her head on her chest.

"Goodnight," she said, "Sleep tight."

"Goodnight," said Felicia, "Don't let the bedbugs bite."

I laid down and began to sleep.

It had been an eventful night.

But, I was glad everything worked out.

We were safe, and the threat was gone for now.

Jessica rested her head on my shoulder.

"Goodnight," she whispered.

"Goodnight," I said, "And goodnight, Flo."

Florence was fast asleep.

I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

I thought about my life.

Once I was a concert pianist.

Now, I am a werewolf who is the keyboardist for a rock band.

How things had changed.

It was a little scary, but I was happy.

I had the greatest family a girl could ask for.

A new life, a new family, and a new home.

Life is good.

I stroked Margaret's beautiful dark hair.

It was so soft and silky.

Felicia's golden hair was so thick and fluffy.

Florence had such cute pigtails.

Jessica's brown hair was so curly.

I was so lucky to have these beautiful girls as in my life.

And, I would do anything to protect them.

Nothing would stand in the way of my family.

This was the greatest life I could ever have imagined.

And, I wouldn't change it for the world.

Before I fell asleep, I felt Jessie's hand on mine.

It was a sweet gesture.

I squeezed her hand and went to sleep.

Life was wonderful.
