Chereads / Lady Nosferatu and the wolf girl / Chapter 22 - chapter 22

Chapter 22 - chapter 22

Narration by Ms Florence Dracken

January 4, 1988

We had been touring Rome, Paris, London, Tokyo, Berlin, and New York City.

Finally, it was time to go home.

Well I guess I could tell you a little about myself.

Being in the body of a six year old girl for over two hundred years is not easy.

I always dreamed of the day that I would have the body of an adult.

So, I am a little sad that this is the body I will have forever.

I had been searching for a way to get an adult body for decades.

But, no luck.

Even after all the knowledge that I got doing my research, I still couldn't find the one thing I cared about.

How to become an adult.

Well at least I have my big sister and her coven to help me.

They are the best family anyone could ask for.

I love them.

We are a family, and families stick together no matter what.

My sister Maggie was my hero.

She always protected me and was always there for me.

Even when those other vampires turned their backs on me.

The vampire should I create Nord to watch my back, had turned on me, but I was lucky that my sister found me before I died.

I am grateful every day for what she has done for me.

If not for her, I would be dead.

And, I can never repay her for that.

But, I would try.

I would try and do anything I could to make her happy.

apart from my family of vampires and werewolves, I also had music.

It was the one thing that could make me feel better when I was down.

The power of music was amazing.

I would listen to music whenever I could.

I loved listening to records and cassettes.

Music was a part of who I was.

And, the people who created that music were geniuses.

They were true artists.

I had a great time traveling with the girls and playing shows.

But, I was glad to be home.

I was ready to spend some time at Rehoboth Beach.

Just relaxing and having fun.

After renting a house, we set up the coffin.

"This is a nice place," said Felicia, "It's a beautiful house. And, it's right near the beach. So, we can enjoy the sun."

"Yeah," said Jessica, "I love it. This is a perfect spot for us to relax."

"Yes," said Elizabeth, "It's lovely. What do you think, Flo?"

"It's okay. But, I really want to go to the beach. Let's go. Come on. Hurry up."

I was so excited.

I hadn't been swimming since I became a vampire.

And, I have wanted to go back since that day.

"Alright," said Elizabeth, "Calm down. We are coming."

"Let's go," I said, "Let's go. Come on."

"Hold your horses," said Jessica, "We are coming."

"Oh, alright," I said, "I'm just excited. Sorry."

"Don't worry about it," said Elizabeth, "Come on. Let's go have some fun."

"Yes," said Felicia, "Let's go. Let's have some fun. It's been a long time since we've had some fun."

We arrived at the beach.

"Wow," I said, "This is beautiful."

Since it was still daylight we wouldn't have to worry about hunters, since they believed that we would die in the sunlight.

"It is," said Elizabeth, "Come on. Let's go."

"Alright," said Felicia, "Let's go."

"Yeah," said Jessica, "Let's go."

We headed to the beach and set up a towel.

"This is great," said Felicia, "It's been a while since I've been to the beach."

I run into the water while the others lay out their towels.

Margaret was rubbing some tanning oil on her skin.

"Hey," I said, "Come on. Don't be afraid of the water."

"I'm not afraid," she said, "I just don't like getting wet."

"Well," said Felicia, "You won't stay dry for long if you hang around me."

Felicia splashed some water on Margaret.

"Hey," said Margaret, "Cut it out."

"You asked for it," said Felicia, "You know better than to splash me with water. Now, you're gonna get it."

Felicia splashed some more water on Margaret.

"That's it," said Margaret, "I'll get you!"

Felicia ran into the waves.

"Catch me if you can."

Margaret chased after Felicia.

I laughed and watched them play.

Elizabeth was lying on the towel reading a book.

"Hey," said Jessica, "Want to build a sandcastle?"

"Sure," I said, "Why not?"

Jessica and I started building a sandcastle.

"Hey," said Elizabeth, "What are you guys doing?"

"Building a sandcastle," said Jessica, "Want to join us?"

"Sure," she said, "Why not?"

Elizabeth put down her book and started helping us build a sandcastle.

"There," said Jessica, "Finished."

"It looks great," said Elizabeth, "Nice job."

"Thanks," said Jessica, "I did most of the work."

"Sure you did," I said, "Whatever you say."

I laughed.

"What's so funny?" Asked Elizabeth.

"Nothing," I said, "Nothing. Let's go get some ice cream. I haven't had any ice cream for over two hundred years. Not since before I was a vampire."

"Sounds good," said Elizabeth, "Let's go."

We walked to the ice cream stand.

It was Margaret who taught me that I could still eat after becoming a vampire, but food does not give me energy anymore, I only ate because I love the taste of it.

"Hi," said the man behind the counter, "What can I get you?"

"Three cones," said Elizabeth, "With chocolate."

"Coming right up," he said, "Here you go."

He handed us three ice cream cones.

"Here you go," he said, "Enjoy."

"Thanks," said Elizabeth.

We went back to the beach and ate our ice cream.

"This is great," said Elizabeth, "Thanks for bringing us here, Flo. This is just what we needed."

"Yeah," said Jessica, "It's perfect."

"Thanks," I said, "I'm glad you like it."

"Now I've got you bitch."

Margaret was dragging Felicia back to the beach in a headlock.

"I told you not to splash me. This is what happens when you don't listen."

Felicia twisted her head out of the hold.

"I haven't beaten me yet."

Felicia tackled Margaret to the ground and they wrestled in the sand.

"Stop fighting," I yelled.

"Oh leave us alone." Said Felicia, "It's just a bit of fun. Right Mags?"

"Yes," said Margaret, "We are just having fun."

"Yeah," said Felicia, "Fun."

"Alright," I said, "Fine. Just don't hurt each other."

Margaret pinned Felicia to the ground.

"Oh I won't hurt her. I've got her right where I want her."

She planted a kiss on Felicia's lips.

"There," said Margaret, "Happy?"

"Yes," said Felicia, "I'm very happy."

"Girls!" Said Elizabeth, "People are staring at you. You need to stop this now or take it somewhere else. There are children present."

Margaret looked at Elizabeth with a mischievous look in her eyes.

"Alright," she said, "Party pooper."

She got off of Felicia and stood up.

"Come on," she said, "How about some miniature golf?"

"Sure," said Felicia, "Sounds fun."

"I love mini-golf," said Jessica, "Let's go."

"Okay," I said, "Let's go."

We walked to the mini-golf course and paid for a round.

"Alright," said Margaret, "Who wants to go first?"

"Me," I said, "I'll go."

"Okay," said Margaret, "Here you go."

She handed me a putter and a ball.

I teed up the ball and hit it.

"Good shot. Your turn Jess."

Jessica teed up her ball and hit it.

"Nice shot," said Elizabeth, "Your turn."

Elizabeth teed up her ball and hit it.

The game went on until we all had one hole left.

"Come on," said Felicia, "Let's finish this."

"Yeah," said Margaret, "The old windmill. That's a tough one."

"No worries," said Jessica, "We've got this."

"Alright," I said, "On three. One, two, three!"

We all hit our balls at the same time.

Felicia's ball went in first, followed by Jessica's, then mine, and finally Elizabeth's.

"Yes," said Felicia, "We won. Good job, team."

"Yeah," said Elizabeth, "Great job. Nice game."

"Yes," said Jessica, "That was fun. Shall we do a little shopping?"

"Yeah," said Margaret, "Sounds good."

"Come on," I said, "Let's go."

"Okay," said Felicia, "Let's go."

We headed off to the clothing store.

"This is nice," said Elizabeth, "There's a lot of cool clothes here."

"Yeah," said Felicia, "Some cool stuff."

"Yes," said Jessica, "Let's have a look around."

"Sure," I said, "Let's go."

We wandered around the store, looking at the different clothes.

"Hey," said Jessica, "This is nice. Lots of beach wear."

"Yeah," said Felicia, "Lots of good stuff."

"I'll take a couple of bathing suits," said Elizabeth.

"Same here," said Jessica.

"Yeah," said Felicia, "Me too."

"Well," I said, "I'll just look around."

"Okay," said Elizabeth, "Suit yourself."

We continued looking around the store, trying on different outfits.

"What do you think?" Asked Elizabeth, modeling a bikini.

"It's great," I said, "You look beautiful."

"Thanks," she said, "I like it too."

"Well," said Felicia, "If you ladies are done playing dress up, let's go watch the sunset. Then we can hunt."

"Yeah," said Margaret, "Come on."

We paid for our clothes and left the store.

"That was fun," said Jessica, "Thanks for the clothes."

"Yes," said Elizabeth, "I love them. Thanks."

"No problem," said Felicia, "My treat."

We walked down the street, enjoying the view.

The sun was beginning to set, casting a golden glow across the sky.

"This is nice," I said, "Beautiful."

"Yes," said Elizabeth, "Very beautiful."

"Yes," said Felicia, "It is."

"Let's sit on the beach and watch the sunset," suggested Margaret.

"Sure," said Elizabeth, "Sounds good."

We walked down the beach and found a spot to sit.

"This is great," said Jessica, "Thank you."

We all snuggled up together and watched the sun set.

After the sunset, we got up and decided to go hunting.

"Alright," said Margaret, "Are we all ready?"

"Yes," I said, "Ready."

"Alright," said Margaret, "Let's go."

We transformed into vampires and began our search for victims.

"This is nice," said Jessica, "A quiet evening, hunting for our dinner."

"Just remember, don't leave any bodies behind. We can't afford another incident like in Paris. We need to be careful. I hate leaving the bodies but it is the only way we can ensure our safety." Said Felicia

We walked around the town, searching for victims.

Suddenly, I spotted a woman walking alone.

"There," I said, pointing to her.

"Alright," said Margaret, "I've got a plan."

We hid in the shadows and waited for her to come closer.

"Now," whispered Margaret, "On my mark. One, two, three!"

We rushed out and grabbed the woman.

"Help!" She cried, "Someone help me!"

Margaret held the woman in place.

"Relax…you will feel a little sting and then we will be finished. You will never remember what happened."

"What the?" She cried, as she saw Margaret's eyes turn red and her teeth grow.

"Relax darling… it will be over soon… look into my eyes… you will not remember what happened. All you will remember is going for a walk. Nothing more."

Margaret's words seemed to calm the woman.

"There," said Margaret, "Now, bite her."

We all sank our teeth into the woman's neck.

"Ahhhhhh," she cried.

We drank her blood and then released her.

Fortunately we only needed to drink a little of the woman's blood, so the woman was still alive.

"Now," said Margaret, "You will return home and sleep. When you wake up tomorrow morning, you will not remember any of this. Do you understand?"

"Yes," she said, "I understand. I will return home and sleep. I will not remember any of this."

"Good," said Margaret, "Go on now. Off you go."

The woman walked away, looking confused.

"There," said Margaret, "All done. Good job, team."

"Yeah," said Felicia, "Nice work. Let's go."

"Yeah," I said, "Let's go home."

Life had been so good since I had been reunited with Margaret.

If only I could grow into a woman's body, but I was stuck being a six year old girl forever.

But, Margaret and the girls made it all worthwhile.

I love them.

And, I knew that they loved me too.

I was the luckiest vampire in the world.
