"You're making me embarrassed by staring at my body. Were you not told that a newly wedded wife should blush a little at least and not ogle at her husband's naked body?" Elizabeth dropped her gaze and went to her wardrobe to pick her dresses.
"That must be your delusion," she replied quickly which only made his lips curve as if he knew her mind.
Aaron was sitting on the bed with a magazine in his hand by the time she came out from shower. Her hair covered her neck and she stood a little away from the bed, she cleared her throat to gain his attention but he didn't bother to look at her.
"A_are we going to sleep in the same bed?" she asked, a little clueless about it. Her heart was racing at the thought of him near to her, was she the only one thinking about it.
"What a silly question. Of course you will sleep here. This bed is yours as much as it is mine," he lifted his gaze to look at her. With her racing heart, she crawled on the bed, she was too tried to have a conversation with him now, she knew he wouldn't listen to her.
Just when she was about to lie on the bed, he caught her wrist to stop her, she looked at him confused.
"Sit here," he ordered her to sit beside her.
She didn't know why he asked her to sit, but she did without asking him anything. Her breath turned heavy when he leaned a little closer and pushed her hair gently that covered her neck. He observed red marks on her neck.
He took a bottle of lotion which he kept beside him for her. He took the lotion in his hand a little to apply it on her neck. He applied the lotion on her neck where the redness appeared on her skin and blew air as he applied it. Elizabeth's eyes were shut when she felt him blew air on her neck causing goosebumps at that particular region.
Aaron looked at the girl who was already looking at him with her innocent eyes, he paused for few seconds staring at her and distanced himself from her the very next moment, "Why would you wear it when you know that you are allergic to platinum," he said to break the silence between them.
"It was because of a promise I made with someone," she answered, looking away from him.
Aaron paused for a second and one side of his lips twisted upwards," Promises are made to break them," he words came like a piercing pain but the movement on his fingers on her neck soothed it.
"I don't want you to apply this lotion for me, I'm fine," Elizabeth replied, moving away from him. His behavior was confusing her and she didn't want that to happen.
"It'll itch your neck more if you don't apply the lotion," he said.
"The rashes will disappear by morning. I'm used to it, you don't have to worry about it," she was being stubborn.
"Are you planning to spend your night that way, stop behaving like a kid Lizzy," Aaron's words brought a wave of emotions for both of them.
The ache in her heart increased ten times. It was a pain she couldn't express to him, because it was he who gave her the pain.
"Apply it before you sleep," saying, he left the room, leaving her alone on their wedding night.
Elizabeth sat on the bed, she didn't move since the time Aaron had left. She asked herself again as to what made him leave her, but she could not understand why he left her when he loved her with all his heart. She knew that Aaron was not the kind of person who would use people. She knew that she was special to him in every way. She made him her world, a world in which she was the happiest girl when he was beside her. May be that was her mistake, when he left, he whole world collapsed.
"What is wrong with you?" Elizabeth asked Aaron.
"I don't want to see your face, you disgust me, do you know that," His eyes were full of hatred for her.
"What _what are you talking Aaron?" she could barely speak, she held his wrist grasping it firmly in her hand.
"I don't have to give you any reasons Elizabeth. Just leave me alone," he said drawing away his hand from her. Elizabeth was shocked to see the way he was behaving with her, during the four years he never spoke to her that way, and it was the first time he called her with her full name. He was cold to others but not with her, because she was his lizzy.
"I_Is there anything else you want to say?" she stuttered.
"Yes. If we ever meet again, pretend that you don't know me. Don't come to me or talk to me about our meaningless relation," she felt a lump in her throat as she controlled her tears.
"Fine. I promise you. I will never ever speak to you until you come to me," she blurted out in anger and left from there that day.
She didn't know that the words which came out through her lips would make her regret. She thought that he would come back to her but the next day when she didn't see him in the school, she came to know after enquiring that he left. All the hopes she had and the dreams she built with him shattered all at once. She tried to contact him but she couldn't. Years later, she saw him in the news. The day he took hold of the Winchester's empire. Only she knew how much she cried for him that day when she saw him in the news. As the dates on the calendar changed, she made herself strong and decided not to cry for him again but who knew that he would reappear into her life.
Eight years ago, he broke her heart by leaving her without saying a word to her. Years later, he reappeared in front of her with a marriage proposal. She didn't know if she should be happy that she got married to the person she loved or should pity herself for marrying him as a deal to save the company. It was clear the he don't love her anymore, the Aaron she married is a stranger to her.
Elizabeth looked at her phone when it vibrated. It was Roseline's message.
*I feel that you are not fine.*
Elizabeth smiled and wiped her tears.
*I'm good, Rosie.*
She texted Roseline.
*Don't you have school tomorrow. Sleep early.*
Elizabeth sent another message.
*I do, I do. I just wanted to check on you. Good night.*
Elizabeth read her sister's message. Roseline was always there for her when she was in need for comfort. She promised her sister that she would never cry for the person who left her. Elizabeth sighed thinking about her life which seemed like a merry go round. She switched off the lights before she went back to sleep though she couldn't sleep.
Roseline was on her bed while texting Elizabeth. Just when she replied to Elizabeth, she received a call from an unknown number. It was around thirty past nine at that time.
"Hello?"
"Roseline Carter?" asked someone from other side of the phone and Roseline replied with a yes.
"Ryan Hayes, I'm sure you know me," Roseline frowned at the name of the person. Ryan Hayes, why was he calling her and how did he get her number.
"Don't you have any other important works to do?" Roseline said to the person on the call earning a chuckle from him.
"I do. And that's what I'm doing right now," came a voice from the other side of the phone. Roseline rolled her eyes at Ryan's answer.
"Am I supposed to blush now?" She asked.
"Doesn't matter if you do now, when I cannot see your beautiful face," her heart dropped a beat and she remained silent for a few seconds.
Roseline and Ryan were studying in the same school but were from different sections. Though they were in the same school for all these years, they have never spoke until today but they knew each other. Ryan was quite surprised to see Roseline at the wedding and to see her reaction, he winked at her.
"I wonder how many girls must've fell for your pickup line," she replied, rolling her eyes.
"That wasn't even a pick up line. Do you want me to use one fo you?" she heard his voice.
"Why would you use it for me?" she asked.
"What a silly question. To impress obviously," Roseline's lips parted before she pressed them together. She knew that Ryan always flirted with girls but why was he talking to her today. They never even greeted each other before but now he was talking to her as if he knew her well.
"You better don't waste your time, it doesn't work with me," she said, a little proud of herself that she wouldn't fall for his charms.
"If it didn't, then how am I having a conversation with you. You would've blocked me by now," he replied.
"I was planning to do it_in a few minutes. Don't call me again," and all she heard was a laugh from his side. She could've ended the conversation but she spoke to him even though it was only for a few minutes. Why?
"Wait a second. I didn't ask you what I wanted to ask," Ryan said.
"Ask," she answered, without prolonging her reply.
"You looked beautiful today, did you always look this beautiful.... " a faint blush formed over her cheeks and she didn't know what to tell him now. Was he always this direct to people?
