"I think I should take an appointment with the doctor. Something must be wrong with my eyes," this was not something Roseline had expected from him.
"You are an idiot," She scolded him, when she actually scolded herself mentally for thinking that Ryan would call her beautiful.
"I was just asking you. You sound disappointed, are you?" she heard him. Roseline paused for a few seconds before continuing the conversation.
"Dream on, Ryan. How are you related to Aaron Winchester?" Roseline quickly changed the topic.
"He is my cousin. My mother and his father are siblings. Are you interested to know more about me?" he asked, playfully.
"Aren't you being a little over confident about it. I only want to know about your cousin. What kind of a person is he?" she asked him.
"People say he is cold hearted but he is good to me," Ryan replied honestly. There was a pause from Roseline and he continued. "He never loved any woman but he is a very responsible man, I'm sure your sister is in good hands," he said.
"Are you saying this to make me feel better or feel worse," she giggled.
"Don't you know that I have a big heart and I help people when they are in need," Ryan boasted about himself for the second time.
"Oh! Is that the reason why you distribute your big heart to all the girls?" Roseline replied instantly to his bragging.
"Tell me if you want me to stop talking to them. I'll stop," Ryan said.
"Why would I even stop you," she replied, flushed by his words.
"Because I give such rights only to few people," Ryan replied from the other side of the phone.
"Whatever!! I'm ending the call. Good night," Roseline ended the call and placed her hand on her chest to hear her heart race. One conversation with him on the phone and things changed over a night.
The door which was shut until now was opened a little. The room was not completely dark because of the bed lights that were on. Aaron closed the door after coming inside and saw Elizabeth asleep. He walked to another side of the bed to see her in deep sleep. He made sure not to disturb her sleep when he moved closer to push her hair that covered her face and her neck. The redness on the neck reduced a little, his heart felt better now that she was sleeping.
The day he presented her a chain was when they were eighteen years old. He saw her neck turn red by the end of the day.
"Why did your neck turn red?" the eighteen-year-old guy asked his girl.
"I'm allergic to platinum," she answered, touching her neck the tips of her fingers but Aaron stopped her from doing it further.
"Girl, why didn't you tell me when I was wearing it to you?" he questioned her, a little angry that she failed to mention it to him.
"Because it was a present you gave me," came an innocent answer.
Aaron smiled at her reply but scolded her softly for not telling him and then rushed to a pharmacy store to buy her medicine. After reaching home he searched on the internet about the people allergic to platinum. As the scenes of those days replayed in his mind, a faint smile appeared on his face. When they met in her company two weeks before the marriage took place, Elizabeth was too shocked to even react when the man who left her years ago, stood right in front of her. Her mind was blank and her emotions came out in the form was a tear which he didn't miss to notice but he looked away, ignoring her.
He still remembered the day he saw her when she was transferred to his school.
"Good morning everyone! Carter is my name. Sorry, I name is Elizabeth Carter," her nervousness made her forget what she wanted to say. Aaron who was reading a book lifted his gaze from the book to see her, there was a tiny smile on his face looking at the girl who stood in front of the class to introduce herself. When the teacher told her to find an empty seat and sit, she walked looking around to see if there were any empty seats and found a few. As she walked passing his seat, Aaron removed his bag where there was an empty seat beside him.
"Thank you," her voice was sweet like drop of honey.
The entire class was shocked to see Aaron allowing a girl to sit beside him. While everyone in the class laughed at her, he saw the innocence in her that made his attention focus on her which everyone failed to notice that day.
Aaron pulled his arm back to him before touching her face. Life was unfair. The person whom he loved the most turned out to be the person whom he resented at that time. He never thought that the girl whom he loved the most and the adamantine bond he shared with her would be broken like a glass one fine day. No matter what, the broken glass couldn't fixed even if either of them tried to do it.
