Chapter 20 - Chapter Twenty

Caleb P.O.V

I had begun my second trimester of the pregnancy, and the morning sickness still had yet to go away. After doing some research, Aidan and myself discovered that there is a chance of it carrying on until the end of the pregnancy and, considering my case was such a rare one, we have no clue if that will end up happening.

Right now, we were lounging around Aidan's room as the morning sickness had been playing up a little more, hence the research. By the side of the bed was a bucket in case I was sick and couldn't get up, and I and Aidan were on the bed. I was propped up against the headboard while Aidan was next to me, his head resting on my lower chest.

"Hey, angels, let's stop making papa sick please, okay? He needs rest, and to keep some sort of food down so you'll all be healthy,", he whispered, a tender hand rubbing over my steadily growing stomach. I ran my own small, freckled hands through his raven locks, smiling at the sight of him talking to my stomach.

"You do know they probably can't hear you, right? And I've been able to keep some food down, so I'll be fine,", I giggled, and he turned to me, faking offence at my comment. "What?", I laughed out innocently, smirking.

"I'm sure my kids can hear me, right, angels? You're gonna be daddy's kids, I can already feel it,", he bragged, placing a soft kiss on my stomach before moving up and sitting properly next to me, kissing my cheek lightly. "I know your papa is, at least,".

My cheeks flushed a bright pink, not expecting his sudden comment. Swatting his arm, I scolded him. "Aidan! Don't say things like that!".

Just as he went to reply, his phone went off, so he turned and picked it off, holding it to his ear and listening to the person on the other line as they talked to him. I scrolled through my phone until he had ended the call, then turned to him in curiosity, silently asking him who called.

"My mom called. She invited us over to dinner tonight since she's finally been released from the hospital, but only if you're feeling up to it. I know you're not feeling the best today, so we can just decline if you want,", he assured me, caressing my cheek with one hand and playing with my hair using the other.

"I'm sure I'll be fine. I don't want you to miss out on seeing your mother, so we'll go to dinner,", I replied, nuzzling into the warmth of his hand. He smiled, moving his thumb lovingly across my cheek and pecking my forehead.

"Alright then, love, we'll go. She'll meet us at the restaurant at six, so we can get ready in a couple of hours and then leave, sound good?", he suggested.

"Sounds perfect. But Aidan?", he hummed. "Pass me the bucket please, babe,".

--

"Are you almost ready, my love?", Aidan called from the other room. It was 5:20, and we were setting off to meet his mother in a couple of minutes. I stared at my reflection in the mirror, eyes trailing from my pale green sweater to my ripped black jeans. I had put on a pair of high-top converses, not wanting my feet to ache from walking. Overall, I was pleased with my outfit choice.

"Yeah! I'm coming now, let me just brush my teeth quickly!", I say, seeing as I could still mildly taste the sick in the back of my throat. I brushed my teeth quickly, then headed out of the room to be met with Aidan, stood in suit trousers and a white shirt, the last few buttons were undone and he held a tie in his hand.

His usually messy hair was slicked back, and his normal shoes were discarded, now replaced with a pair of black dress shoes. My jaw quite literally dropped, not used to seeing my boyfriend dressed so fancily.

"Tie or no tie, Caleb?", he asked, holding the dark green tie up against his shirt.

"No tie,", I commented, grabbing it from his hands and placing it on the bed. "Should I change? I feel underdressed seeing you like this,".

"Only if you feel comfortable enough to, love. I know you feel insecure about how your bump makes you look,", he replied, wrapping an arm around my shoulders and bringing me closer to him. "But I think you look adorable,".

"I'll keep this on then,", I decided, my arms making their way around his torso and sinking into his embrace. "I hope this place doesn't cook anything with too strong a smell,", I muttered, still feeling mildly sick.

"If you feel sick, we'll leave, I promise. Now let's go, I'm sure my mom is gonna be there before us at this rate,", he laughed, pulling me out of the room and into the dorm's elevator. He pressed the button to the ground floor, and we waited for the doors to open, then exited and walked through the common area to the doors.

"Where are you two off to? And why are you so dressed up?", Ry asked, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. I blushed, covering my face with my hands and shaking my head frantically.

"It's nothing like that, you idiot! We're meeting with his mom for dinner!", I cried, shifting uncomfortably from one foot to another. I heard a laugh from beside me, meaning that Aidan found my embarrassment entertaining. Ry soon joined in with him, earning a pout from me as I crossed my arms over my chest. "Yeah, laugh at the hyper-sensitive, pregnant guy,", I grumbled.

"We didn't mean it like that, love,", Aidan smiled, rubbing my lower back.

"Yeah, cheer up, Caleb,", Ry added, holding his hands up in surrender. "Have a nice dinner tonight, you two! Text me when you get back so me and Jordan know you're safe,", he lectured, and I rolled my eyes playfully, waving him off. "I mean it!"

"Yes, mother,", Aidan and I chorused simultaneously, closing the door so we didn't have to hear his retaliation.

--

"Oh my god, I'm so tired. And I feel sick,", I groaned, flinging my shoes off and flopping onto the bed. Dinner was fun but it was cut short because Mrs Langston had to get back to her 'husband' before he got mad. So, we only had the chance to eat our starters.

"How? You hardly ate anything, babe,", Aidan said with a worried tone, sitting next to me on the bed and feeling my forehead. "Do you have a fever? You feel a little warm for my liking,", he panicked. Whining, I rolled onto my side, clutching my stomach. I was having cramps, and they weren't so pleasant.

"I don't know how the girls deal with cramps. I feel like I'm dying,", I exaggerated, puffing my cheeks out. He chuckled, placing a large, warm hand on my stomach and rubbing it gently, seemingly trying to ease the pain.

"Is this helping?", he asked, continuing to do it.

"Sort of,", I smiled, sitting up and patting the space behind me. "Come sit, I wanna cuddle,", he complied and sat behind me, his arms going around my middle as his hands came to settle on my bump, continuing to rub it. I sighed contently, leaning into his embrace.

"Did you text Riley?", he asked, resting his chin on my shoulder. I shook my head slowly, grunting as I reached for my phone so I could message our friend. After typing a quick 'We're back. See you in the morning, Ry. Night!', I placed my phone down and closed my eyes, ready to sleep.

"Done,", I mumbled.

"You need to change out of your clothes, my love,", he chuckled, reaching to help me out of them.

"I'll sleep in the sweater and my underwear, I don't care,", is all I said, shifting slightly so that he could take my jeans off. Laughing as he did so, he slid the black fabric off of my legs and threw them onto the floor before cuddling into me again.

"Night, Caleb, my angels. I love you all,"

"Mmmm, love you too, Aidan,"
