Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

Caleb P.O.V

It's been a couple of weeks since we told the class about the pregnancy and everything's been going smoothly, I guess. Well, apart from the girls constantly talking about baby stuff whenever there are no professors around. That's another thing actually; we still have to tell the teachers. Anyway, today I'm exactly six weeks pregnant, so Aidan and I are going to our first ultrasound. We invited Ry and Jordan too but they said they were training and that it would be more special if only the two of us went. So right now, Aidan and I are walking to the hospital. The girls booked the appointment a little after we told them because they insisted I got a check-up. It was really sweet of them to do that, to be honest. I didn't stop thanking them for it for around five minutes until they had to distract me to make me stop thanking them. It's been a few weeks since then, though, and my morning sickness is still through the roof, especially around foods with strong smells. And to make it worse, I've been getting dizzy quite a lot which makes training harder. Although, I guess I shouldn't really be doing training...

I'm pulled out of my thoughts by an arm being snaked around my waist. I look up to see Aidan, his face holding a concerned look. Brows furrowed, I looked at him intently, in an attempt to figure out what was bothering him. Before I could speak, however, he spoke up.

"Cal, baby, are you okay? You seem pretty out of it. I mean, you didn't respond to me the whole way here and we've literally already reached the hospital..", he trails off lightly. I instantly feel bad and wrap my arms tightly around him, burying my face in his chest. I sigh in relief as he hugs me back; a sign that he's not angry at me and understands that I'm sorry. Still, I owe him a proper apology and explanation. I look up into his icy blue and green eyes as I speak.

"I-I'm sorry, Aidan. I was just thinking of everything and I guess it made me zone out a tad. I really am sorry though, and I'll try not to zone out as much. I think it was just everything swirling around my head and overwhelming me and it was making it hard for me to think straight but then again there's no excuse for being so out of it so I don't know what-", I was cut off from my rambling by his lips meeting mine. We shared a delicate kiss as he snaked his arms around my waist, resting his hands on my lower back. After he had pulled away, he buried his face in my brown locks.

"Caleb, it's completely okay, I promise. Everything is gonna be fine, you're both going to be super healthy and then we can tell the professors when we get back. For now, let's just try to focus on what's happening, alright?", he told me in a reassuring tone. I nodded softly before going onto my tiptoes and wrapping my arms around his neck. He kissed my forehead, then released his hold on me and grabbed my hand, guiding me into the hospital. As we reached the reception desk, the lady there smiled at us and signalled for us to come to her. We obliged, standing in front of her and waiting for her to speak.

"Hello, lovelies! I'm Yua, what're your names and what are you here for today?", she asked in a cheerful tone. It made me relax a little actually, even if that sounds strange. I got lost in thought, but quickly came back into reality.

"M-my name's Caleb Micheals and I am here for my first ultra can..", I said quietly, worried she would judge me. That wasn't the case, however, as a smile spread across the woman's face and she clasped her hands together.

"Oh my! That's amazing, deary! Congratulations to you and your boyfriend, when did you find out?", she exclaimed as she began typing away on her computer, most likely trying to find my appointment on the system.

"A-a a few weeks ago.. and thank you, I was kinda worried you'd shun me for being so young..", I replied, gripping Aidan's hand a little tighter. She stopped typing and looked up at me, sympathy consuming her expression. Then, she gave us a small smile and began to speak.

"Well, deary, I assure you and your boyfriend that there is no judgement here. As long as you two are happy, I'm happy as well. I could never judge someone over their age, especially when I had my eldest when I was around your age! Nineteen, right?", she said. I nodded as both I and Sho released a breath we didn't know we were holding, soon turning to face each other. He smiled down at me and leaned down, kissing my forehead, earning an 'aww' from the woman at the desk.

"Thank you, miss Yua. I and Caleb really appreciate your understanding nature.", Aidan spoke up as he turned to face her and, sneakily wrapped an arm around my waist.

"No need to be so polite, deary! Please, just call me Yua. And of course, dear, no judgement here. Anywho! Caleb, dear, if you and your boyfriend, whom I now know by your appointment details is Mr Aidan Langston, could head to the third room on the second floor for your scan, that would be wonderful! Oh and here's my number in case you need any advice or want to talk, deary!", she explained, then handed me a piece of paper with a number on it. I smiled at her, then we both thanked her and made our way to the ultrasound room.

As we stood outside the door, I took a deep breath in and braced myself for whatever could come. I had read that it's possible to find out how many babies we're having as early as six weeks now, so I'm pretty nervous about that. Aidan looked down at me, a small smile on his face as he did so. Ruffling my hair with one hand, he placed the other on my stomach which, strangely, was starting to show, although it wasn't noticeable. I smiled back up at him and placed a hand of my own on top of his.

After our little moment, we took each other's hands once more, and Aidan knocked on the doctor's door. A few seconds later, the door opened to reveal a tall male doctor. He smiled at us, allowing us to enter the room. I sat down on the bed, Aidan standing closely next to me, seemingly jealous. The thought of him being jealous made me want to chuckle; there was no way the doctor would flirt with me, and yet he was still being protective. I'm snapped out of my thoughts as the doctor speaks up.

"Good morning, Langston family. My name is Jedidiah Stevenson and I'll be performing your ultrasound today and for the rest of the pregnancy. It's a pleasure to meet you both! Moving on, which of you boys is Caleb?", the man - that I now know as Jedidiah Stevenson - spoke as he looked up from his clipboard at us. I raised my hand in reply as an awkward smile broke onto my face. He simply smiled back before turning around to get the equipment unit which I assumed was the ultrasound machine. "Alright then, Caleb, could you please lie down on the bed and roll your shirt up to expose your stomach for the ultrasound?", he continued, still fiddling around with the equipment. I complied, doing as he said. He made his way back over to us with all the required equipment, and squirted a cold substance onto my stomach, making me squirm.

"What's that? It's freezing!", I shouted, making both him and Aidan laugh at me. My hand suddenly felt warmer, so I looked towards Sho and noticed he held my hand in his again. I smiled at him slightly, causing him to smile back.

"Sorry about that, everyone squirms a bit at first, but it's crucial for the ultrasound. Anyway, are you ready to begin? And would you like any copies of the scan?", the doctor asked, looking at us. I nodded, and Aidan answered his question.

"Could we have around.. thirty-ish copies, please? I apologise if that's a lot, we just have quite a few people who would like a copy.", he elaborated, his voice monotone as usual. The doctor simply laughed and nodded his head before continuing the scan. A few minutes later, his face grew into a smile and he looked towards me and Aidan.

"W-what is it? Is something wrong?", I asked, my voice wavering. All he did was look between both of us and smile more. Why did he seem so happy? What if something is wrong without a baby?! Oh my god, please say that they're healthy...

"Well, Caleb, Aidan, from what I can tell, you're going to have double the trouble in just under eight months. Congratulations, you two; you're having twins!", he beamed. My heart skipped a beat as tears escaped my hazel eyes. I was bubbling with pure happiness.

Aidan P.O.V

Holy shit! We're having twins. Oh my god, I'm so happy. Two mini versions of Caleb and myself. 'Wait, what if I'm not a good dad? I've had a shitty home life, what if I end up making my kids suffer too?! I can't do that to them. I'll love them with all my heart, I promise myself and Caleb that. Wait- Caleb Is he happy with this or upset?!', I thought, then frantically glanced to my left. A sigh escaped my lips when I saw him smiling, but he was also.. crying? I hope they're happy tears or Jordan will be after me.

"Alright, I'll leave you two for a moment so I can go and print out your thirty scan copies! Congrats, Langston family!", the doctor spoke up as he left the room. I grabbed some tissue to wipe the gel off of Caleb's stomach and, after that, pulled his shirt back down.

"Cal, babe..", I whispered, pulling him in for a hug and burying my head into his neck. I couldn't contain my excitement anymore - which was evident - as tears fell from my eyes and onto his neck. He simply laughed, wrapping his arms around my neck in response. "We're having twins, babe... I hope they're just like you", I murmur and gently kiss his neck. I felt him heat up, making me chuckle as I removed my head from his neck, now face to face with him.

"Aidan, love.. that's sweet of you, thank you. Also, we're having twins and we still haven't told our parents, the professors or basically anyone but friends. Hell, we haven't even told all of our friends! We have to tell Grayson, Toby, Ethan, Judy... there are so many people!", he ranted, panicking a little more than necessary. I simply kissed him to shush him and began calming him down. Soon after, the doctor came back with our copies and we thanked him before leaving the hospital.

When we got back to the dorms, everyone instantly surrounded us, asking to see the scan. Caleb and I gave them all their copies, smirking in anticipation. No one really got it at first, they all just looked confused. Well, until we pointed it out to them.

"Hey guys, look on the back of the scan, okay?", I told them as I grabbed onto Caleb's hand. Everyone simply nodded, turning the scans over. After that, gasps were heard all across the room. All of the girls began squealing as their friends or boyfriends attempted to calm them down. Caleb and I simply laughed, turning our gaze to Jordan and Riley, who seemed to be approaching us. They both ushered Caleb into a hug before coming over and hugging me as well, which I reluctantly accepted. After that, Riley started fawning over Cal's stomach. Then Jordan spoke up.

"Congrats, you two. I and Ry are gonna be the best freaking uncles on the planet to these lucky brats!", he announced happily. Finally, everything seemed to be falling into place. Everyone around us was happy, and I was having kids with the one I love; Caleb. Walking up to him, I wrapped my arms around his waist and kissed his head.

"I can't believe it, baby. We're going to have our own little family soon..", I whispered to him.

Happiness radiated off of everyone as the day went on, and I couldn't help but join in. I mean, it's hard not to be excited after finding out you have twins on the way. Going to bed, one thought remained in my mind. 'What does the future hold for us?'.
