Chapter 14 - Chapter Fourteen

Caleb P.O.V

The next couple of weeks ran smoothly, and I was now around two months pregnant. The bump was slightly more noticeable than normal, but the doctor told us that was because I'm having twins. Other than that, the one strange thing is the class. Every time Aidan or myself enter the room, they act strange, but we've learnt to ignore it and get on with classes.

Moving on, today we were having the first training session outside of the school since the... incident with Derek. My nerves have been all over the place, and Aidan is on edge because of it too. Despite this, I'm excited to get some more training in, even if I have to take it a little easy to make sure I don't strain myself.

I pulled my gym shorts on, followed by a baggy t-shirt and some white socks. Sitting down on the edge of the bed, I then pulled on my trainers and grabbed my water bottle from the side, heading to the door. I grabbed the handle and pulled it open, revealing my ravenette boyfriend, who stood in all his glory, holding two bags and a water bottle of his own.

"Hey baby,", he cooed, bending down to kiss my cheek and then grabbing my hand in his. "I packed us each a bag for training today. I thought we could shower at the facilities and then head out for a bit?", he suggested, making me nod.

"I like that idea!", I agreed, and reached to grab my bag off of him, but he lifted it away from me. "Give me my bag, babe,", I told him as I crossed my arms. He chuckled, but shook his head and slung it over his shoulder once again.

"No can do, love. No heavy lifting, remember?", he told me as he walked away, leaving me to trail behind him in the corridor.

"Well, yes, but that bag is hardly heavy!", I argued, not wanting him to have to lug my things around the whole day. Instead of a reply, he simply ignored my comment and walked away, this time gripping my hand and pulling me along with him.

Soon enough, we were in front of the bus that would be taking us to the training establishment, and our friends waved eagerly, inviting us to sit with them. Both of us obliged, Aidan, sitting by the window while I sat on the outside, chatting to Riley from across the row.

"Hey bro! Are you excited about training today? Mr Collins said it's supposed to be a scenario type of thing,", he explained, a wide smile spread across his face. Jordan, who occupied the seat next to him, gave a small wave and a smile, which I quickly returned before zoning back into my conversation.

"Yeah! It's been ages since we did something like this, right? Plus, I'm always ready to do some training,", I beamed, our conversation continuing for the duration of the bus ride, given the exception of checking on Aidan (who had fallen asleep ages ago) or being asked a question by someone else.

Before long, we'd pulled up at the training facility, and Coach Tyler was watching as we all filed off of the bus. Turning to Aidan, I gently grabbed his shoulder and shook him in an attempt to wake him from his nap. He stirred but didn't fully wake up.

I kissed his forehead softly, this time calling his name as well. Sure enough, his eyes fluttered open, and he was soon staring up at me, a slight grin on his lips. A giggle bubbled up my throat, but I stifled it and began grabbing our stuff so we could join the others. Upon seeing me holding the bags, he jolted up and stared at me in shock.

"What's wrong?", I ask innocently, adjusting them into a more comfortable position on my shoulder.

"Put those down,", he ordered, reaching his arm out expectantly. I rolled my eyes, but obeyed his request and handed both of the bags over to him, pouting as I did so. He smirked, placing a hand on the small of my back and guiding me off of the bus.

"I may be pregnant, but I'm not disabled,", I muttered to myself as he insisted on guiding me down the stairs. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that he's happy, but he's going slightly overboard. Maybe because he's worried about something? My thoughts are brought to an abrupt end when Coach Tyler's voice echoes around us.

"Right, everybody! Today we're going to be split into teams and be faced with some basic, real-life scenarios to see how you'll all handle them. Each group will consist of five people - bar one -, meaning there are four groups. The group of four will be given no extra help, staying true to the real-life situations you'll face when you're out in the real world. Each group will have an hour to complete the drills. Clear?", he instructed, glancing at the mass of students who stood before him.

"Yes sir"s and nods were distributed between the whole class, each of us understanding what we would be doing in today's training. He gave a satisfied look and continued to sort out the different groups.

"Group one will be Ester, Amber, Harry, Jake and David. Group two is Lawrence, Riley, Scarlett, Julia and Matthew. Group three is Aidan, Becka, Alex, Harry and Jayden. Our last group - group four- is Caleb, Felix, Jordan and Roxanne. The groups will carry out their drills in that order, starting in twenty minutes. Sort strategies between yourselves in that time!", he finished, walking off and sitting with Mr Collins.

We sorted out our strategies, and all of the drills ran smoothly, every team passing with flying colours. We hopped back on the bus, almost everyone exhausted from all the training. The bus trip back was pretty long, so I sat on the inside by the window, ready to get some sleep before reaching the dorms where we'd no doubt celebrate our training.

Resting my head on Aidan's chest, I closed my eyes, smiling to myself as I felt him wrap his arm around me, pulling me closer to himself. The sound of his heartbeat and his warmth were enough to lull me into a peaceful sleep, shortly followed by him falling asleep too, both of us oblivious to our classmate's conversation.

"-aleb. Caleb, wake up. We're back,", I heard as I woke up, feeling a sensation of being shaken making me open my eyes, only to be met with another pair of green and blue ones. I rubbed my eyes, sitting up and looking around the bus groggily.

"We're still on the bus...?", I asked, voice thick with sleep. He laughed at my sleepy state, but nodded and began helping me stand up, knowing I was clumsy when tired. I happily accepted this time, using his arm as support to help me back to my own dorm.

"Have a quick shower and change, yeah, baby? I know we said we'd go out, but you seem a little tired so we can save that for another day and just relax in the common room today,", he suggested as he unlocked my door, placing my bag at the edge of the bed and guiding me to my bathroom.

I simply nodded, another yawn escaping my mouth as I began to strip down for my shower. Clothes in hand, I looked over to Aidan, noticing a deep blush on his cheeks as he turned away. Confused, I tilted my head to the side, trying to figure out what was wrong. He got the message, nodding towards me.

Only then did I notice that he was still in the room while I got ready for the shower. Flustered, I wrapped a towel around my lower half and shoved him out of the door, suddenly feeling more awake than before. Then, I hopped into the shower, enjoying the feeling of the hot water relaxing my sore muscles.

After the shower, I got changed and walked to the common room, shocked when I noticed a gathering crowd of my classmates all standing there, smirks across their faces. I took a step back, slightly concerned.

"Uh... Hey?", I stuttered but got no reply. Well, not a verbal one, anyway. They nudged me into the elevator, each of them getting in after me, and pressed the button to my floor. When they got out, they walked towards a room, but it wasn't mine. I stared in confusion, not knowing what to do.

"Open the door, bro,", Riley whispered, putting a hand on my shoulder. I nodded and opened the door, eyes filling with tears when I realised what was inside. There - in all its glory - stood a baby room, Aidan in the centre with his arms spread wide.

I ran to him, jumping into his arms and letting the happy tears flow down my freckled cheeks. He caught me, rubbing shapes into my back to soothe me, though I was sure he was equally as happy as me. I pulled myself together, finally releasing him from my grip.

"D-did you do all this?", I asked, looking up at him. He chuckled and shook his head, pointing to the door. Sure enough, my classmates were still stood there, proud looks plastered across each of their faces. "Oh my god...", I mumbled, jogging across the room to give all of them a hug.

They all seemed happy, and I was too. After thanking them profusely, we all made our way back to the common room, chatting about random things, specifically how they'd managed to do all of this without our knowing. Apparently, they'd gotten permission from the teachers to pull this off, and did most of the work while we were busy.

All in all, I couldn't be more thankful to have such wonderful classmates and friends. This was definitely a day I would never forget.
