Chapter 7 - Chapter Six: Freedom

It has been a whole week since Charlotte was confined in her house and it's been two days, six hours and thirty mins since she last saw Elliot.

"I miss him," mumbled Charlotte.

After they nearly burned the house down. Elliot promised to never cook with Charlotte present. She was too distracting. They ordered takeaway and repeated it for the next three days until Elliots manager called him to get back to work. Though the time they've spent together was very short, Charlotte was very attracted to him.

Especially how kind, sweet, thoughtful and caring he was. He wasn't stuck up, and thinks he is the best. Elliot is humble with the achievements he had garnered at such a young age. Most importantly, he cares about her opinion and cares about the way she feels.

While she was lost in her thoughts over Elliot, her phone started ringing. She was expecting a call from the person she was yearning but was surprised to see it was her brother.

"Any news?"

"I just received confirmation from them. Don't worry, he won't be able to get out easily. He is still in prison and he won't be out until 4 years later. But just to be sure I will place some guards around you it looks like he has someone helping him from the inside."

Charlotte slumped on the couch. At last, but when she heard her brother continue, the nerves in her body tensed once again.

"So what are we going to do, I can't forever stay in my house and live in fear."

"I'm not telling you to isolate yourself, you are free to go out, I have already sent information to the police and any airlines just in case he does somehow manage to come out but that is very unlikely."

Carson understood his sister the best. Ever since that guy stepped into her life, he has been wreaking havoc and there was not a moment Charlotte had felt safe. To make herself feel safe again, she shut the world out.

Today, her name was recognised as a popular Director and Screenwriter but she couldn't even accept the awards she was given for her work because of the fear her stalker would find her whereabouts

"For now, I'd advise you not to be alone. Wherever you go, take someone with you."

"I can do that." Charlotte was relieved hearing the thing she wanted to so badly hear was a blessing to her ears.

"Just come and live with me. My place has better security and is more safeguarded then your place."

Charlotte laughed. "I would if I didn't have any work or responsibilities. You know I'm about to start filming my new movie." Charlotte heard her brother sigh on the other end before he started speaking again.

"Fine, do whatever you want but remember I'll be sending a couple of skilled guards to protect you from afar so don't get startled."

"Okay but thank you once again!" She felt grateful that her brother was helping her.

"You're making me a stranger. This is the least I can do. Also I have a favour to ask, could you please talk with Alexandra? She's being too careless with the paparazzi."

"Why, what did she say?"

"Nothing much but I know clearly she  aimed that at her mother!"

The noise of rustling paper was heard from the other side. It seemed in a fit of anger, Carson dropped something from his desk.

"It sounds like you're busy, I won't keep you any longer. Bye!"

–—

Charlotte was adorned in a long red, wrap dress. To accommodate it, she paired it with a hat and a pair of nude sandals.

Charlotte got into her car and fixed her hair before she started driving. While doing so she turned on the radio and hummed along with the song. She was really happy today since she was going to pick Elliot up from his photoshoot.

As for getting caught, she wasn't too worried about the paparazzi as they both planned to meet at a private restaurant a little far from the location. The reporters won't think much and will assume Elliot is on his lunch break. But before she could go to him, she needed to see someone in her office. A surprise guest was waiting for her.

Charlotte took her usual route and reached her office building. She parked her car and used the elevator to go to her floor. Sofia was already waiting for her outside the door of her office.

"Is she in there?" Charlotte asked and Sofia responded by nodding. Charlotte opened the door and as soon as she entered, a person jumped to hug her.

"Unnieeee!!² You're here!!"

Charlotte steadied herself from this attack by holding into the door. "Woah, Scarlett!"

Scarlett squealed in joy before she separated herself from Charlotte. "I'm sorry Unnie, I'm just so excited to see you again." It had been two years since the two saw eachother again. They did stay in contact but it was only vague conversations.

"Where is your brother, Sam?" Charlotte inquired as she and Scarlett sat down on the couch to chat.

"Aya! Unniee.~" Scarlett sighed. "You have me in front of you, why are you asking about my brother?" Charlotte smiled helplessly.

Scarlett Lee is a Korean actress and singer. She and her twin Sam had worked with Charlotte previously on a film. Although their names weren't widely spread in Hollywood they had a huge fanbase in Korea which helped them reach out to more people. But since the last time they came to America, they have won many people's hearts and people wanted to see the twins again.

Charlotte liked talking to Scarlett, she was like the little sister she didn't have growing up. Scarlett was lively, funny and a happy pill while her twin was a little reserved but he was just too cute.

"Sam will be coming a day later, he is filming something in Korea." Scarlett replied.

Charlotte was planning to discuss the terms of the contract so they could start filming as soon as possible. Everything was already delayed because of her abrupt 'vacation'. "Oh okay, then we'll wait for Sam to come as well before we discuss anything else."

Scarlett nodded her head in agreement, she didn't want to take any decision by herself. Although she trusted Charlotte, she wasn't very sensible with these things. Now that was out of the way, she could finally breathe again. She was not a serious person so she didn't like to attend these meetings but had to because her manager was not fluent in English.

"Unniee~" Scarlett called with excitement. "Are you free today?" She used her puppy dog eyes to work her charm.
