"Unnie! Unnie! This one." Scarlett shouted as she pointed at a roller coaster.
"Oh no, no, no!" Charlotte shook her violently. "No roller coasters for me." She was no good with heights.
"Come one! For me please." Scarlett begged. She never had the privilege to enjoy herself like this. Here, she was ordinary. No-one recognised her so she could relish the theme park to her heart's content without having to entertain her fans and acting perfect. Although she loved her fans–without them she would be nothing but sometimes it would get too overwhelming and the more attention you have the more people wait for you to make a mistake.
Charlotte scrunched up her face and unwillingly agreed. "Okay, let's go and line up." She didn't have many friends and those she was close to were busy just like her so they rarely got together. Plus, she was a little old for this but today she guessed she could indulge herself a little.
Earlier, Scarlett somehow persuaded her to take her here and Charlotte didn't have the heart to say no to her puppy dog eyes. She reluctantly cancelled her plans with Elliot and came here with her.
"Yay!" Scarlett yelled and dragged Charlotte to the ride. The two were beautiful ladies, even though they changed their clothes to something basic like jeans and graphic ts, they still caught people's eye.
While they were waiting for their turn. Charlotte's phone kept on going ding. "Unnie you should see who it is, it might be important." Scarlett advised. Anyways there was a long line of people in front of them so it would be a while before it would be their turn.
Charlotte peeked at her screen and several messages from Elliot sprung up. While she was reading them, a goofy smile unconsciously made it on her face. He was asking her basic questions like if she was okay? Or if she needed anything? Yet it seemed this simple words were charming its way into her heart. His concern for her could be seen clearly.
Scarlett studied Charlotte's face and saw how focused she was. She found it strange and wondered who was messaging her.
"Is that your boyfriend?" Scarlett whispered in Charlotte's ear, startling the latter.
"God! Scarlett." Charlotte clenched her phone in hand and itched her ear.
"Sorry, my bad." Scarlett apologised. She felt a little guilty but other than that she wanted to laugh at Charlottes change of. expression.
"Okay, I'll let you in on secret but promise you won't tell anyone." Scarlett nodded as Charlotte leaned closer to her and whispered.
"I'm dating someone."
Scarlett failed to keep herself from yellowing out loud. "Daebak!³"( That's awesome!)
The onlookers gave her weird glances before they went to mind their own business. "Sorry." Scarlett shrunk herself to make herself invisible and couldn't help but giggle at the end. She felt like she had gained the country's most secretive information.
"Jinjja yo?⁴" (Really!) Scarlett was in disbelief, she had only said that as joke. She didn't really think Charlotte had a boyfriend. "Andwae!⁵" (No way!)
"Yes way, I have a boyfriend."
Charlotte chuckled at how surprised Scarlett was. Was her dating such a big deal? Nonetheless, it is true this was her first official relationship since years ago. To prove her point, Charlotte showed a tiny glimpse of her conversation with Elliot.
"Omg! Unnie~ I'm so happy for you." Scarlett whisper-shouted. She could not continue her excitement and started jumping up and down but stopped soon after she had gathered more attention.
"What did you eat today, you seem so hyper!" Charlotte commented which Scarlett gave a toothy grin. "Chocolate, tons of chocolate goodness!" Usually, she was restricted to eating a huge amount of sugar not only for her health but because of her lifestyle as a star.
Charlotte shook her head. The rest of the time, they made small talk until it was their time to go on the ride. A person came and checked to make sure they were safe and secure before the ride started slowly moving up.
Charlotte was scared. They were so high up, in fear she tightened the hold on her seat. She heard Scarlett scream with excitement and wave her hand in excitement. Then the roller coaster dropped and everyone yelled on top of their lungs. Scarlett was screaming thrilled at this experience while Charlotte closed her eyes and yelled in horror.
[Never!] She thought. [Never again!]
On the whole ride, Charlotte felt her heart leap out of her chest. She waited for the ride to end as quickly as possible but it kept it going up and down.
