The Cameras clicked left and right.

"Alexa who are you meeting today? Is it your lover?"

"What's going on between you and actor Jacob Curtis?"

"Is it true you're pregnant?"

"Who's the father?"

Paparazzi bombarded her with questions. Ignoring them all, Alexa walked straight to her destination with the help of her bodyguards that her father employed on her behalf. Before entering, she put on a sickly sweet smile and flashed her middle finger at them.

"Get your f*cking ass out of my business!!"

She pushed open the door and entered the beautiful Indian restaurant. It was full of colour and culture. And, the sweet aroma from the kitchen drifted in the air.

Hearing the entrance bell, a waitress soon came to the door to greet her. "Miss Davis, this way." The waitress quickly recognised her. She guided Alexa up the stairs and into a private room.

As soon as the door shut, Alexa let out a frustrated groan. "Ugh, I hate my life so much right now!" She sat down on the opposite chair of her Aunt. Putting the menu in her hand down, Charlotte asked, "What happened this time?" There was amusement on her face.

"What else the god damn paparazzi!"

Alexa huffed before telling Charlotte the whole story. "You just added fuel to the fire by flashing your middle finger and swearing at them." Alexa covered her face in frustration. "I knowww~, ugh, I just can't control my mouth." Charlotte reached over the table and patted her niece's shoulder in an attempt to comfort her. Alexandera Davis was the daughter of her brother, Carson. She was mostly known as Alexa. At 21, Alexa was a promising model starring for many luxury brands. She was the ambassador of dior and the angel of Victoria secrets.

"Aunt Charlie, I envy you. You're a celebrity who's fame far exceeds mine yet you're hassle free. No paps following you, freedom to eat anything, freedom to wear anything and last but not least freedom to go anywhere without being judged. I mean come on, Jacob and I are just friends!"

As Alexa finished throwing her tantrum, there was a knock on the door. Seconds later, a waiter and waitress walked in with their meals. They put down a plates and bowls of different cuisines, from pakoras⁶, kebabs, chicken tikka masala, Aloo gobi⁷, butter chicken, butter and garlic naan, biryani, samosas⁸ and different types of chutneys.

"I hope you don't mind, I ordered. I was starving." Charlotte beamed as she filled her plate with Indian delicacies.

"It's okay," Alexa acknowledged and bit the inside of her gum to not giggle at her Auntie. She looked like a kid at a candy store. Soon, Alexa followed.

The flavours weren't too spicy–just the right amount for their taste buds. The butter chicken was tender, the chutneys complimented the samosas and the naan was neither too oily or nor too dry. All the dishes were cooked perfectly, and both Alexa and Charlotte couldn't help but take seconds. For the duration of the meal neither talked and just basked in the food.

After they worked down the food, they called in a waitress to take away all the food and bring in dessert. Meanwhile they began discussing the matter on why they were both here.

"You dad told me you insulted your mother."

Charlotte went straight to the point. She didn't not sugar coat the words nor did she act strictly like she should've. There weren't a huge age gap between the two. Thirteen years to be exact.

"Step, Step-mum. You forgot to add that part." Alexa did not deny nor agree to the statement however Charlotte took that as an answer.

"Even then, you should respect her for the title she holds. And, it's not like she has mistreated you in any way."

Alexa scoffed, "That doesn't make her any less of a gold-digger."

Carlos was 26 when he had married Susan–Alexa's mother. It was an arranged marriage, there was no love between them. When Alexa had turned five her parents split. Three years later, her father remarried a woman called Ruby. She was an ordinary barrister that worked at a cafe.

[A perfect Cinderella story.] Thought Alexa.

Alexa never had a good opinion on the lady. She thinks her step mother is a gold digger, latching onto her father only for his money. Adding onto that fact, she blames Ruby for interfering into her parents marriage. It also didn't help that Ruby, a year into their marriage, gave birth to a baby boy; Jason.

Her father adored Jason however he lost his patience with her whenever she insulted his beloved wife. Alexa was more welcoming to her baby brother than to Ruby. So whenever, wherever she had the chance, Alexa would defame her step-mother.

"And how do you know that? Have you ever tried to stay in the women's presence for more than two minutes?" Charlotte nagged. If only her niece spent time with Ruby then maybe she could see how happy she made her father, Carson.

"No, I don't want to!" Alexa exclaimed. She felt disgusted just thinking of spending her time with that vile woman.

Charlotte massaged her head, she knew she could never change her nieces mind but she had to give it ago.

"Fine! Do whatever you want but at least promise me you will keep the dirty laundry in the house?" Charlotte hoped for her own and her brother's peace that this ended today. The paparazzi would do anything for money and just thinking of the consequences made her head hurt.

Later that night

Elliot leaned back on the headboard as he combed back Charlotte's hair with his fingers. Under the duvet, she was laying between Elliots legs while her head rested on his chest. The two were in Elliot's bedroom having a marathon of all the Harry Potter films. Currently, they were in the middle of the second one in the series; Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

"Who's your favourite Character?" Elliot randomly asked. The amount of times he has watched the Harry Potter films, he swore he could recite the lines off by heart.

"Hmm." Charlotte wondered. "I've never given thought on that but if I had to choose it has to be Draco. I mean–you can't tell me not to like young Tom Felton."

Elliot chuckled. He buried his head in her blonde locks and sniffed her apple and strawberry shampoo fragrance.

"What about you?" Charlotte asked back.

"Me? I don't know, maybe Dobby."

Charlotte turned to face Elliot, she couldn't contain herself and laughed. She pecked his lips a couple of times and embraced him with a spell-binding smile.

"What's so funny?" Elliot was puzzled on why his girlfriend suddenly burst into laughter. Did he say something wrong? Was he missing something?

"I find it cute that you like Dobby. You both have similar characteristics in a way."

"Oh yeah, what is that?" Elliot returned the smile and put his arms around Charlotte's waist. "You're both loyal and want good for others–well Dobbys a house elf it's his job but considered to other elves his caring." Charlotte instantly replied to which Elliot melted like butter. His eyes softened and he moved a lock of stray hair away from Charlotte's face.

"It's good to know my girlfriend thinks good about me."

Charlotte responded by giving him a quick kiss on the lips before turning around to continue watching the film. After a while of watching Harry Potter, the two had lost interest.

Elliot rested his head on Charlotte's shoulder as he stifled a yawn. He had a very exhausting couple of weeks. Photoshoots for magazines, filming tv commercials and doing many promotional work for his previous works.

He had plans with Charlotte to have lunch two week agos but she cancelled at the last minute. Although he was disappointed, Elliot understood that were things she was busy with.

That had on several occasions tried to make plans with each other but it seemed one thing or another always pulled them apart. And then day after days, it had been two weeks since they saw each other. During the night, the duo face timed daily and talked about their time consuming days but talking from behind a screen and being in each other's arms cuddling was a whole nother thing.

It was very rare for him and Charlotte to be together. Elliot didn't know what Charlotte's job occupation was and he didn't ask. He felt if Charlotte wanted to tell him, she would.

Speaking of Charlotte he was very concerned about her. Earlier today, he spotted mysterious people surrounding the perimeter of his house. The sleep from his eyes disappeared as he straightened his back.
