Chapter 6 - Chapter Five: Bracelets

"Cook the pasta in salted water for 10-12 mins until al–dente."

Charlotte watched as Elliot poured the pasta in the boiling hot water. Right now, she was sitting on the kitchen counter as she read the recipe out to Elliot. She had chosen Mexican penne with avocado for today's lunch. In one hand was the ipad with a recipe on its screen while her other hand was used for her to munch from the packet of doritos.

"Next," said Elliot looking at the dazed Charlotte.

"Heat the oil in a medium pan. The pans in that cupboard." Charlotte pointed to a top cabinet. Elliot shook his head at the lazy melon sitting on the counter doing nothing but eating. What happened to cooking together?

"Then add the sliced onion and pepper to fry, stirring frequently for 10 mins until golden."

As Elliot stirred, he stared at the clean, untouched Charlotte. "What happened to cooking together?" He voiced his thoughts.

"What do you mean, i am reading out the instructions for you, okay?" Charlotte feigned ignorance as she acted offended by his words. Who says a director couldn't act?

Charlotte grew up in a wealthy, pampered family with dozens of servants willing to do anything for her. But even then she never took advantage of that power to boss people around, she has always been independent. Other than cooking and cleaning, she can do everything else.

She once stepped into the kitchen but the outcome wasn't that pleasing. It was a simple recipe of spaghetti with sauce and meatballs. The sauce and meatballs were already made and all she had to do was boil the spaghetti and add the sauce and meatballs in one pan. This ended with sauce stains on the white, kitchen tiles while the hot boiling water and spaghetti accompanied it on the floor. Luckily, she managed to move away from the boiling water or else the outcome would've been worse.

"Stir in the garlic and spices, then tip in the tomatoes, half a can of water, the corn and bouillon. Cover and simmer for 15 mins." As Elliot put the lid on the pan, he looked at the woman who was miserably trying not to drool.

Elliot chuckled. As soon as Charlotte heard his deep masculine voice it sent a ripple through her heart. Charlotte turned around and hid her blushing cheeks with her hand.

[What is wrong with you Charlotte? He is nine years younger than you and yet you kissed him. Are you that old now that you are lusting after young boys? No, No, No. Keep it together, don't take advantage of the guy anymore or you'll scare him away.]

"Charlie are you listening?"

Charlotte blinked in response. "What were you saying?" Elliot was standing in front of Charlotte, using both his arms as he locked her into position.

Elliot flicked her head, earning a harsh glare from Charlotte. "I was saying what should we do now."

"What should we do now?"Charlotte looked at him with innocent eyes.

Elliot pulled Charlotte's leg to bring her closer to him before picking her up. Startled at this sudden gesture Charlotte gasped and tightly hugged Elliots neck and wrapped her legs around his torso.

"What are you doing?" Elliot didn't reply as he led them both towards the living room.

Once inside he dropped her on the sofa before making his way to his black backpack he brought. Charlotte rubbed her bottom and ignored Elliot, who hid the item he brought out of his bag behind him. He walked to Charlotte and took a seat next to her.

"Why did you do that?" Charlotte spoke with a scowl on her face. Elliots face softened with guilt as he apologised.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you." He started massaging her back. Seeing his guilty face, Charlotte softened and stopped his hands.

"Its okay." She flashed him a beautiful, mesmerising smile. Elliot returned a fond smile. He then brought a black, velvet box.

"This is for you." Charlotte eyed the box before taking it and slowly opening it. Her eyes widened in surprise.

In the box were two beautiful bracelets. They were both rose gold bands but what was special about it was that it was engraved with yesterday's date. The day they met. 28.8.20.

Charlotte turned to Elliot who stared at her with expectant eyes. His face said 'praise me.' Charlotte laughed as she kissed his cheek.

"Thank you." As soon as she tried to move her head away from his face. She was pulled into his lap.

"That's not enough." Elliot replied with a hoarse voice.

Charlotte then moved her head and kissed his lips. It started slow but became more aggressive as their lips molded perfectly together. Elliots arms circled around her waist and brought her closer to his body as he increased the speed, earning a moan from Charlotte. As their tongues intertwined, they fought for dominance.

One of Charlotte's hands moved from his neck and through his hair while Elliots hand moved around her, familiarising his hands with her body. After a long time they finally separated, breathless. Looking at Charlottes flushed, red cheeks and tinted, pink lips, Elliot was tempted to take possession of those lips again, but resisted against it. Instead of kissing her lips, he pecked both her cheeks and her forehead.

After catching her breath, Charlotte hands moved to the velvet box and took out one of the bigger bands and put it on Elliots wrist.

"How did you get them so quickly?"

Elliot followed suit, putting the rose gold band on her wrist. "My brother-in-law is a jewellery designer, so I asked for a favour," he said playing with Charlotte's fingers.

"I see someone's eager."

[Of course, if I don't snatch you away other men will get to look at your beautiful smile. They'll also taste your beautiful kisses.] Elliot thought in his head. Charlotte laughed at the dazed Elliot before letting out a laugh while she played with his hair.

"What shampoo do you use, your hair is so soft."

As Elliot was about to answer, a ringing sound was heard from the kitchen.

"Oh my god, the food!"

Charlotte hopped off of Elliots laps and dashed to the kitchen. They were too busy in their little world that they completely ignored the timer.
