Prince Conrad's POV
As I embraced my wife, I remembered how my day went without her. I sighed and cuddled her more.
Prince Elias took me to a banquet where all of the royal family members and aristocrats were celebrating their own way of the festival. The King and the Queen were also present at the occasion, so I wondered why my wife was not there. Nonetheless, I still fulfilled my duty as the Princess's husband and greeted all of them one by one. I also introduced myself briefly to the guests who were interested to know me. However, they did not even mention my wife's name. I thought that there were some problems amongst them.
While I was having my break from entertaining their guests, one of the ladies came and sat at the same table where I was. She looks young, probably the same age as my wife. She was wearing luxurious jewels, red lipstick, and a seductive red gown. I shot her a boring look for few seconds, and then turned my gaze back to my food.
"My cousin, Prince Elias, told us that you're Liviana's husband, is that correct?" She asked me with a smile and with a disgusted look. I eyed her for a few seconds and turned my gaze to my plate. "I wondered why you agreed to marry her. Did you even know where she came from? How pitiful?" She added while shaking her head.
I suddenly stopped as I got the feeling that I don't want to hear what she was saying. I perked up and faced her with a furious face reaction. "I married her because I wanted to marry her, that's it. Also, I fcking don't care where she came from or what sht you were talking about." I said and left her.
I confirmed from her that something is going on in this family that was related to my wife. I will not listen and believe whatever they are going to say about my wife. That's what I said to myself when I took my way out of the banquet.
While searching for my wife, my feet lead me to one of the stores that were selling handmade accessories and pieces of jewelry. I took a look and found an aqua blue bracelet, the same color as her eyes. I bought it and placed it in my pocket.
When I was about a few meters away from the gate of the castle, I spotted my wife, who was about to enter when a man from her back grabbed and dragged her. I followed them, but I have to hide behind the big tree to restrain my wolf.
He was furious to see that a man other than us held my wife. He wanted to take over and killed that bastard. It was Prince Andrew. How dare he touch what's ours. I talked to my wolf and calmed him down. Then after few seconds, I heard them speak. When I heard Prince Andrew confessed his feelings and intentions to my wife, I almost lost it.
I almost lost my sanity and let my wolf took over, but when I heard that my wife turned him down, we quickly stopped on our tracked to attack Prince Andrew. She politely rejected him and told him that she's married. A huge sigh escaped my mouth back then, and I was so relieved that she turned him down. My wolf was happy as well. We got one hell of a loyal wife and mate.

"We have still time before the fireworks. Would you like to check the stores? I might find some delicious food to eat." My wife suddenly asked. She perked up and offered her hand on me to stand. "Come on, let's enjoy the festival." She said, smiling while I gladly grabbed her hand and stand.
We were like teenagers on a date. We're checking every store and eat every food she wanted while holding each other's hand. She smiled a lot while we're having our quality time. I even heard her laughed while talking to the vendors. She was an approachable Princess of this Kingdom. Some of the people gave gifts and greeted her. She accepted their gifts with pleasure and warmly greeted them back.
"What?" She suddenly asked me while waiting for the fireworks display to start. She was eating cotton candy. She really likes sweets.
"What do you mean, what?" I asked her back.
"You were unusually looking at me. Do I have dirt on my face?" She asked.
I shook my head while smiling. "I noticed that you're smiling a lot today, and that was an incredible view for me." I stated.
She smiled and bit her cotton candy. "I was able to briefly talk to those ordinary people about their life. I love them. They were natural." She said.
"Do you dislike being part of the royal family?" I asked curiously.
She eyed me for a few seconds before diverting her gaze back on the cotton candy. "No. I was grateful and blessed, but I don't feel like I was meant to be here." She said in a meaningful way. "If I'm not a princess of this kingdom, do you think we will meet each other?" She asked.
"Of course, you're my mate." I answered. She suddenly looked at me in disbelief. "What?" I asked.
"It's the first time that you told me that I'm your mate." She said, smiling, then it hit me. I slapped my mouth in annoyance. I'm so careless. "What's with the reaction? Philip told me everything about mate." She said while chuckling. "He told me that there is an unbreakable bond between mates, and that's what happened to him and his mate." She added. I sighed in relief. It's a good thing Philip did not say anything about the werewolf's mate.
"I did not know that you have an idea about that already." I commented.
"I asked because I wanted to understand about it. I was amazed that there's an unbreakable bond between two people that even death cannot cut their strong tie." She stated as the sky brighten up because of the fireworks that have just started.
"I am blessed to have you as my wife and my mate." I said as I smiled at her. She looked at me and smiled back. However, I don't think she totally understand the gravity of someone's mate. I hope she understands how she affects the hell out of me because of this mate bond.
"I am honored to have an unbreakable bond with you, my dear husband." She said as she leaned, and my eyes widen in disbelief when I felt her soft lips on my cheek. I cannot believe she gave me a peck on the cheek. I felt my wolf rejoiced. "Thank you." She added.
I don't think my wolf and I will able to sleep tonight.
