Princess Liviana's POV
"Soul mate or mate is someone who will be the most important person in your life. Our Moon Goddess will choose someone to be your mate. Once you see or meet your mate, you will feel an instant strong connection or bond. Separation from him even for just a day is torture, especially for the male. Male is dominant and possessive over their mate. There's also the process of mating. He needs to claim you to complete it. Once done, the bond will get stronger than before. You'll always look for him and crave for him to be by your side all the time." He explained as I listened thoroughly to every word that he said.
"What do you mean by the word claim?" I asked curiously.
"You better ask him." He answered.
"Also, since your mate is the Crown Prince, his dominance and possessiveness are one hundred percent stronger than anyone else in this kingdom." He added. "Right now, I'm sure he's raging and wants to kill me this instant." He said while chuckling.
I remembered how he always appeared and interfered whenever someone, even my brother, talks and touches me. He did not want any other man near me except his brothers. Doesn't he know how to retrain or control himself? Geez.
I'm really amazed how our situation, our arranged marriage, leads us to one another. Of all people who can be my mate, it turned out that he's my husband. This is fate, isn't it?
"You're blushing, Lili." I heard Philip said that knocked me on my senses.
"I'm not." I denied.
"They just got here. We better get going." He announced.
"Who's here?" I asked as we stand.
"Your husband and your brothers-in-law." He answered.
"What? What are they doing here?" I asked, puzzled.
"What else for? To follow us, of course." He told me. "Lili, I will do some exciting things, cooperate, alright?" He said as his eyes sparkled in excitement. I was about to ask him about it, but he suddenly grabbed my hands, and we ran off from the book store. He did not let go of my hand while he's looking at the merchandise. I tried to ask him to let me go, but he just smiled naughtily at me.
We passed by the dessert store, he put his arm around my shoulder, and we walked into the store to take a bite. "He's around, right? Why are you doing this?" I asked him once we settled on one of the tables.
"The reason that's he's here." He whispered at me. Does he really need to do that? My husband won't hear us. Geez. "I'm provoking and torturing him for following us since yesterday." He said while smirking.
"Since yesterday?" I asked.
"You're so oblivious, Lili." He stated. "Your husband is impatience and hot-tempered."
"I know that." I mentioned. "He will get angrier by what you're doing."
"I like that. This is my revenge." He blurted out.
"Revenge for what?" I asked. Instead of answering me, he just shook his head while smiling. Weird.
The food was served, and we started digging in. I will invite my husband here one of these days. I like the food and their beverages. The ambiance is calm and simple.
Before the sun sets, Philip and I got back to the castle. From the hallway, I can hear the shattering of glasses. "What's happening?" I asked one of the servers.
"It's the Crown Prince, your highness." He answered. I ran going to the place where that sound came and leads me to his room.
I found him throwing all the things inside his room. He's destroying it one by one as he shouts in anger. Connor and Colten are leaning on the open door as they calmly watch him go wild.
"What's happening?" I asked as I remained standing few meters away from the room.
"Lili!" Colten shouted and excitedly ran towards me. "Conrad's fuming because he's jealous." He announced as he chuckled.
"Jealous?" I asked. Is this because of Philip? Oh my goodness.
"Don't mind him. It will pass by." Connor said like it was nothing. "I'm hungry. Let's eat, Colten." He invited him, and they went to the kitchen while I remained looking at my husband who's now exhausted by the commotion he did.
"What are you doing?" I said cautiously. He suddenly stopped throwing the lampshade out of the window. He slowly looked at me.
"You're back." He said between heavily breathing. I can sense his anger, and it all reflects on his face. I entered his room as I scanned the whole room. The only untouched area is the couch where I am sleeping and my things. I checked him, and I saw several cuts on his hands and arms. What a drag.
"Dinner is ready. Let's eat." I invited him and trying to ignore the issue instead of talking about it because I already know the answer. I thought Philip just go overboard on his last skim. I wasn't expecting he will do that. I just caught off guard. I sighed.
"I'm not hungry. Go ahead without me." He said while avoiding my gaze. I am the kind of person who hates confrontations and arguments, however, I think I cannot avoid it right now that I'm married and have a husband like him.
I went to the couch and took a seat. I sighed multiple times while I was thinking of the right word to say. I am trembling and nervous at the same time. I don't know if what I'm going to say will make him angrier or the other way around.
I decided not to tell him that I knew that he's my mate. There's still something that's bugging about his being mate. I sighed. The image of Thalia suddenly popped up in my head. "I'm sorry." I said as I diverted my gaze. I focused on looking at the moon. I don't have the guts to look at him directly. "It's just a friendly embrace." I blurted out.
"What?" I got goosebumps by the way he talked. "Friendly embrace? Did you think I would believe that?! That moron still has feelings for you! You're married! Why did you allow him to touch you just like that?" He rants angrily. I was stunned at first and didn't know what to react or to say. Colten is right. He's jealous.
"You're jealous, aren't you?" I asked innocently, trying to read his reaction. He stepped back and was astonished for a while as if he just realized what he just spilled out. "I thought you told me before the wedding that I should not expect anything from this marriage? Is there a sudden change of heart, your highness?" I asked as I tried to provoke him.
"And what if I'm jealous? It's my right as your husband!" He proclaimed.
"You can be jealous even you're not my husband." I stated. "Does it mean you're falling in love with me?" I smirked. I'm enjoying his reaction. I thought confrontation is dramatic, but hell, it's fun.
"You're so full of yourself. You're not that attractive to fall in love with!" He denied. His ears turned red. How amusing.
"Then, I guessed there's no reason to be jealous." I told him.
"I'm not jealous!" He denied it again.
"Noted on that, your highness." I said, smiling. I scanned the whole room again. "So, what's the reason for all the wrecking and the shouting?" I asked him.
"It's none of your business." He said, irritated.
I chuckled at his answer, but he just gave me a death glare. After few minutes, I invited him to eat dinner, and he followed me quietly going to the dining room. He's weird and confusing. I sighed.
