Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

Prince Conrad's POV

When we arrived at the castle, I told the Princess to stay in our room. She stayed quiet and obediently followed my order. Then, I hurriedly went to my parents' chamber. I found my father sipping his wine. I thought he's sick.

"Father!" I called him. He looked at me seriously and calmly. "I need to talk to you." I declared.

"How's the party?" He asked instead.

"Terrible. That moron was there." I said as I massage the temple on my forehead. That jerk is giving me a headache.

"You mean, you?" My jaw dropped. How could he mock his Crown Prince? "You're too serious, son." He said as he chuckled. How could he joke while I'm too serious?

I sighed as I continued talking. "Prince Philip told me that you agreed to his request to visit my wife." I said as I greeted my teeth. Looking back on how he said that made my blood boiled. I felt like I want to crush his face.

"Hold your horses, son." He tried to calm me down, but it did not happen. "That's the consequence of your action. You tried to kill him, remember?" He paused and sipped his wine. "In exchange for your reckless and rude behavior, I agreed to let the Crown Princess tour him around our kingdom."

"What? Tour around the kingdom? It's just his excuse to be with my wife." I said furiously. My wolf is growling in anger.

"I know. He asked for three days tour with the Princess. It won't hurt your pride, son." He said plainly like he just agreed to a random kid to play around.

"Three days? Fck!" I brushed my hands on my hair as I felt so frustrated. Thinking of them together will make me insane. I cannot let it happen. What should I do?

"For crying out loud, Conrad! Put yourself together! He won't take away your wife." He said as he shook his head.

"He will! That moron wants my wife back!" I yelled. I pace back and forth in front of him.

"Did I raise you to be this coward and stupid?!" He yelled back.

"You shouldn't have agreed in the first place." I said, blaming him.

"You haven't still forgotten that I'm the King, right?" He blurted out mockingly. "Anyways, if you will just use your sleeping brain cells, there's no agreement that you cannot follow them anywhere they go." He announced.

"Really?" I said, surprise. "I can do that, father?" I asked.

"Now you're calling me father. Idiot son. How dare you call yourself the Crown Prince?" He commented as he shook his head.

"You should've told me sooner." I said.

"You're blaming me again. I think the Crown Princess will regret having you as her husband." He told me, but I didn't mind since I'm busy thinking how I will follow them secretly though that bastard will surely smell my scent.

I walked out of his chamber and went directly to our room only to find my sleeping wife. I carried her bridal style and put her on my bed. I tucked her in the blanket as I remove some strands of her hair on her face. I was amazed at how deep a sleeper she is; she never wakes up whenever I put her on my bed.

Every fcking night I wanted to sleep with her, to hug her, and to cuddle with her, but I cannot do it yet. I'm a coward when it comes to her. I don't know what I did to bless me with a mate like her.

Princess Liviana's POV

The King summoned me to instruct that I will be accompanying Philip to tour around the kingdom. Though, I was puzzled at first because I still wasn't familiar with the places around the kingdom since the great your highness is prohibiting me to roam around. And speaking of which, I haven't seen him this morning.

"Shall we?" I was back to my senses when I heard Philip's voice. After what happened to him, it didn't cross my mind that he will return. I smiled and nodded at him. We started walking around the castle. "So, how are you?" He started talking.

I tucked my loose hair behind my ear. "I'm fine, Philip. I told you already, they treating me like a family." I answered.

"That's good to hear. I think they're treating you well than your foster parents." He commented. "That's one reason for you not to regret marrying your husband." He added.

I lead him to the tallest tower, so we could see the whole kingdom from the peak. "Being part of their family and being the Crown Princess is not regrettable at all." I said. "Besides, I cannot do anything with my situation right now. I have to adapt and cope up with the things around me." I blurted out.

He offered his hand to escort me while we're walking upstairs, and I gladly took it since I'm having a hard time because of my shoes. "I guessed you'll say that." He said.

"How about you, Philip? What will happen to you now that your wife was gone?" I asked, diverting the topic from me to him. "Do you have offspring?"

"We don't. She's too sick to bear a child." He answered. "The death of my mate feels like half of me was taken away as well." He explained. I can see the sadness and sorrowfulness in his eyes. "I cannot eat and sleep. Whenever I closed my eyes, all I can see was her. I always miss her voice and her scent. I always remember all her life stories that we used to laugh about. She's my everything. She completes me." He said while smiling sadly. I let go of his hands when we reached the rooftop of the tower.

"I hope you'll find happiness even you're shattered." I said while looking at the greenery view in front of us. "So, there it is. Please look around you and tell me where you want to go for our next tour." I declared.

"I think my last mission is you, Lili." He said while looking around. "I will never be happy again because my happiness died with her, I will make sure you'll be happy." He announced.

I smiled as I shook my head. "I'm lucky enough to be part of your life, Philip. Nevertheless, I am responsible for finding or making my happiness. You don't have to worry about me." I said.

Philip is a kind and thoughtful man. I envy his wife not because I still want him but because he truly loved his wife. He thought that his wife was his everything and who completes her made my heart ached for him. I wish I can be someone to anyone who is his everything and who completes him. I wonder when I will meet my soul mate, but that thought instantly ruined when I remember that I was already married.

Is this some kind of twist fate?
