Saras Diary, Day 5
My brother has been acting a bit depressed as of late, tending to be a lot more focused on rank battles as of late. I want him to feel better and I have a plan, it might not work but at least he'll notice that I'm trying. I haven't told him yet, but I think he might be on to me, the new girl, Yuaka seems to have taken a liking to him and they would be adorable together not going to lie.
"What does your gift do?" Zion asked Rira. He remembered the principal saying he would be mutually helped by his roommate.
"It's kind of shit not going to lie, I can fire lasers from the palm of my hands. Which would be cool if it didn't explode my palms every time, I use it." Rira said dejectedly. I haven't experimented much with it because it hurts."
Zion thought to himself for a few seconds before finally coming up with a few ideas. "Wait where can you channel the laser from?"
"From around the center of my palm, like directly on the skin." Rira traced a mark on his hand.
"I think I may have a few possible ideas to help your Gift increase in power" Zion became more and more invested as time went on, "My ideas are trying to conjure the beam a bit away from your palm, using two beams, a really small one on the surface on your hand to counteract the damage from the bigger one that can do damage, and finally conjuring the beams on different points of your body, become a human lightshow of devastation."
Rira pondered these ideas for a moment. "Maybe I can use all of those ideas in some way. I haven't really been focused on my title because I'm not bothered much by everyone else but maybe I could try working my way up to King."
"For that you'd have to get through me though," Zion smiled evilly, "And I doubt you could take me on."
Rira laughed "Nah I bet I could totally take you down."
"I'll take you out for some rank battles tomorrow after school, maybe we can see how good you really are." Zion stretched his arms, "In the meantime I need some sleep, it's getting pretty late."
"It was nice meeting you."
"Nice meeting you too, goodnight."
Zion was lucky, Yuaka thought to herself, Sara was the ultimate sister figure. She was awake before Yuaka and had made some buttered jelly toast for her and was waiting to walk her to school.
"What do you think of my brother?" Sara asked suddenly.
Yuaka accidentally choked on her toast and coughed a bit, "He was alright." She said cautiously "My Gift responded weirdly to his the other day, I still want to talk to him about that actually."
Sara smirked smugly, "You sureeeeee it was just your Gift?"
Yuaka was focusing all of her power into not blushing. "I uh am pretty sure."
Sara sighed, "Well I guess if you are sure I guess I'll bring you over to go talk to him."
Yuaka let out a breath of relief before she heard Sara say, "Its a shame, you two would be really cute together." Yuakas nose started to bleed as she started to blush profusely. She pulled her hat low over her face and pinched her nose.
"Oh are you alright?" Sara asked in alarm
"Yeah im alright" Yuaka said a few octaves too high. "Let me just go to the healing ward, let the teacher know I'll be late."
"On it." Sara was pleased with the result of the interrogation but felt guilty about the nosebleed.
As Yuaka was headed to the healing ward she was unable to take her mind off of the dream she had the other day, being pushed into a void of red. She couldn't help but suspect it was a warning of some kind.
And now this, Sera is probably the most sneaky person she knew and Yuaka loved her for it. She should of suspected this the instant Sara moved in. Yuaka sighed deeply, and thought to herself "Its going to be alot more difficult to shove these random emotions down now."
"Rira you coming or what!" Zion shouted over a crowd of people to his new freind Rira.
"Im getting to you, can it!" Rira Shouted back.
They met up and started walking towards the school arena to test out Riras abilities.
They arrived and both of them took off their hoodies as to not damage them.
"So Rira, activate your gift." Zion commanded
"Alright." Rira charged his laser and Zion noticed something that was off.
"You're charging the beam straight on your palm, from the videos I've watched of similar gifts, you're supposed to charge them form a sphere in front of your palms."
"That makes alot of sense." Rira tried again but the way Zion instructed this time.
"There you go, we have some progress going, now fire it at me at full power."
Zion plugged in a earbud, "Full power?" Rira questioned.
"Yeah as hard as you can."
Rira shrugged, thinking he was going to wipe his new friend off of the face of the earth as he fired a gigantic blast towards him, surprised by how little recoil it had had.
"You alive!?" Rira squinted through the dust.
"Duh, im not the King for nothing." Zion responded as the dust cleared and Zion emerged behind a giant 40 foot tall rock spire that had blocked the beam.
Rira glanced in amazement at the spire of rock, "How did you even do that?" He said, awestruck.
"My gift is I can control elements based on the music I listen to, and I turned on for those who want to rock we salute you with boosted bass."
"You are an evil genius." Rira said, still stricken with awe.
"Oh that was just a demonstration, come with me and we can check out the big leagues."
