"I don't understand… I don't understand…" Running my fingers through my hair in frustration, I paced around the small living room in my apartment. "I thought we left this behind. I thought we were done with the media…"
Jordan was standing in front of the closed door and Maddy was seated on one of the kitchen island stools.
"You can't just be done with the media," Jordan said. He leaned his back against the door and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Why me?" I looked at him. "Why not follow you? And why does that statement seem so… derogatory? Like I'm committing some sin by shopping at Target!"
"But why were you shopping for clothes at Target, anyway?" Jordan asked.
"Because I can't shop at Victoria's Secret, Jordan. If I had that kind of money do you think I'd still be living here?" I snapped.
"You and me both, sister," Maddy said. "But I don't get it.. were they following us? Do they know where we live?"
