"What is it?" Maddy asked again as I stared at her with a blank expression.

The words were burning at the tip of my tongue, just waiting to be released out in the air. But I bit my tongue and let the words dissolve back into my mouth.
"Um, let me think... trusted you?" I sneered.
She looked a bit taken aback. "Okay, ouch. Yeah, I deserve that," she mumbled looking at me with her big brown eyes.
"What does he even want from me?" I slid my fingers in my hair pressing the side of my head between my palms. My head felt so heavy and like it was going to explode.
I groaned in frustration.
"To talk to you for some reason. I don't know what he thinks he'll get out of that. No amount of talking can redeem his actions," she hissed venomously.
