The power of the natural laws filled the whole world. It brought order and balance as it blessed all the creatures living in the world.
After thousands of years, creatures with the ability to interact with the spirit particles were born. They were called spirit evolved creatures. The mythical beasts and spirit beasts were its examples. These creatures were able to use the power of nature.
Of course, not all creatures awakened their spirit sensitivity and could use the power of nature. Spirit inept creatures existed in the world. The examples were humans and savage beasts.
Savage beasts did not have the magical abilities that the spirit evolved creatures had. Still, these beasts remained a danger to the people that met them.
Though they did not have the power of nature, savage beasts used their ferociousness and their big bodies' innate strength as they usually had massive and tough bodies.
And Yeshua was facing a savage beast at this moment.
The savage beast in front of him was a two meter long boar. It had a tough muscled body and strong broad legs. Its wire-like fur was covering its body like armor and long bristle hairs stood erect from the top of its head to the ends of its tail.
The boar's ferocious eyes were glaring angrily at Yeshua as forceful breaths were released from its snout. It was scraping its right hind leg as it prepared to charge at Yeshua and impale him with its thick spear-like tusks.
Savage beasts were not given proper names and were only identified through the size of their bodies. Their body size was an indication of the strength that they could unleash using just their bodies. The bigger the body the stronger the savage beasts.
Yeshua was able to tell that it was a savage beast not only because of its body characteristics but he also did not feel its body releasing the power of nature. This was the most obvious indication of a savage beast that only Alterers could identify.
"Looking at the size of this boar, I can estimate that its strength will be around stage 2 of level 1," Yeshua muttered as he observed the savage boar preparing to charge.
Boom!
The boar charged at Yeshua with the force that made the ground shake with each of its steps while the pointy end of its long tusks glinted with sharpness like a lance. The air was torn apart as the savage boar put all its strength to impale the young hunter in front of it. Its anger was instinctive like it had a massive grudge to Yeshua.
Seeing the charging boar, Yeshua remained calm. The boar reached Yeshua but before he was hit by its long tusks Yeshua was able to evade and step to its side. The boar continued its charge for another few meters then it controlled its body to face him again.
Although Yeshua estimated that the boar had the strength of stage 2, he knew that he was capable of dodging its charge. His body was different since it was further strengthened by the microorganisms in his cells. Though he was only in his human form, his strength was enough to evade the attack of a savage beast.
This was the difference between a savage beast to a spirit beast. The power of nature empowered the spirit beasts not only with body strength but also magical abilities. With magical abilities, spirit beasts were able to release powerful attacks that were not easy to avoid.
"I really can dodge this savage boar's attacks but with its tough body, I can't kill it that easily. My bare hands are not enough to severely damage this beast. If I have a weapon, maybe I can kill it in human form but gene weapons are expensive. It's really hard being poor. Sigh…"
While lamenting his poorness, Yeshua prepared to unleash his Alter Beast to quickly deal with the savage boar. But before that, he rummaged his satchel looking for something.
Yeshua took out a vial of sparkling yellow potion and drank its content. This potion was a soul tempering gene medicine. He was only drinking it now since he was going to engage in a battle.

Then, Yeshua willed his Alter Beast to be unleashed. A flash of light shrouded him as bestial changes happened to his body. After a while, the Windrage Wolf announced its presence again. Standing two meters tall while covered with dark blue fur and cloaked by the blue wind, the werewolf looked like a valiant beast fighter wearing martial artist clothes.
Yeshua could feel a difference this time. He did not only feel the savageness but he also could feel the flaring of his soul as the soul tempering gene medicine was being digested.
The gene medicine was tempering and refining his soul like a sword being forged by a blacksmith. It was different when he was in human form. The speed of digestion was like the difference between walking slowly and running very fast.
"So, that's the reason why maintaining the Alter Beast is the best way to digest a soul tempering medicine. This difference is really more efficient. It's just that maintaining the Alter Beast is also a difficult hurdle as the savageness is really a constant temptation for the Alterers.

Blood splashed around as the savage boar released a dying roar!

The savage boar collapsed on the ground heavily after a while. Yeshua was able to kill the boar very easily. It was not just because Yeshua had a higher stage but it was also due to the power of the natural law.
Though it was only an ordinary attack of Yeshua that killed the boar, his Alter Beast was already strengthened. He was faster and his claws were very sharp that they easily tore through the flesh of the savage beast.
Yeshua looked at the body of the savage beast and confirmed that it was already dead.
"Hmm, I think I can gather the materials of this savage beast. Though it's only a savage beast, its materials can still earn me some gold coins. Its hide can be used to create durable gene clothes like the one I'm wearing now. Its tusks can be used to forge an ordinary weapon. Oh, maybe I can use it temporarily?
