"I know that this is a lot of pressure but I also know that this is what you signed up for so I believe in your skill," Godfrey said taking out a paper out of the folder, "here is the form of the request officially and formally asking for another expedition from the farmer and his ever loyal colleagues."
He handed the wrinkled-free paper to Zeke, looking over the paper it has the insignia of the farmer's guild which is of the same image as the mark on his right-hand. The signature of the Godfrey was at the very bottom of the page signifying the formality of the agreement that they're about the make here. He read was what was written on the paper because back from his world you can never be too careful about contracts or arrangements, he then glanced at the other side of it then gave it to Wulfric to have his farmhand double-check it's contents, he highly doubt there was anything out of the ordinary in there but just to make doubly sure.
"Seems to be just fine boss," Wulfric passed the paper back to Zeke, "just a plain old request."
"Thanks, Wulf," he took the paper then looked at Godfrey, Zeke felt really bad when he saw a look of confusion on his face "I apologize for doing that, it was a habit I sort of developed throughout my days back in my home world, I will try to lessen my rigidness when it comes to things like these, office and paperwork."
"Don't mind it farmer, I was just thoroughly confused as to why the critical evaluation is needed, but then again if there is a valid reason I shouldn't question the intent," Godfrey replied while rubbing his forehead and chuckling, "the work is taking it's toll on me and I don't know if I should be thankful it finally came or not."
Wulfric and Zeke looked at each other then gave the Guildmaster an expression of sympathy.
"So, back to the topic at hand," Godfrey instantly on work mode again, "since it's been four weeks already the dungeon must've changed its layout now, I'd advice for you and your team to make thorough preparations for every expeditions. I don't know when or where these changes will take place but we wouldn't know what to expect."
"We will," Wulfric replied, "our boss has sufficient knowledge from the past expedition and we shall help him along the way. Anyways, if that is everything shall we conclude this meeting? We could see that you very much still are busy."
"Ah yes, thank you for coming and for the distraction on this otherwise tiring day. Have a good day both of you. Oh! One last thing the expedition doesn't have a deadline, it'll up to you guys on when to go but as you can see, more extra time means more people are going to be demanding so just keep these all in mind. Now, off with you both."
As soon as he said those words, the telephone on the table rang, he waved goodbye picked the phone up then immediately went back to his work mode.
"Let's go boss," Wulfric looked at the time, "we might still see Magnus on the way back, he should be done dropping those forms now, seeing that everybody is busy he might be told to just leave it in the top priority bin. They will probably look into it once the busy hours are gone, though when, I don't know."
Zeke got a little worried that the renovation might take a while and immediately as working saw his expression the guy softens and gives him a smile.
"The guild has a separate department for construction boss, no need to worry, the only thing that might take a day or two is the processing of the paper," Wulfric informed him.
"Well, that's a relief. I just didn't want Magnus to have no room without comfort and sleep on the couch for a long time," he glanced at Wulfric, "he's a huge guy, sleeping on the couch would be uncomfortable."
"That's that bull for ya, always stubborn," Wulfric said.
As they walked through the hallways of the guild they could not see any signs of Magnus, so they decided to just go home and inform the rest of the team of what's to come.
Nearing the house they saw Magnus just about to open the door, they called out to him.
"Mag! Hey Magnus, how did the commission go?," Zeke asked.
"It went fine," Magnus then gave them an incredulous look, "I didn't know it would be packed today! I thought I was in a festival or something though the difference is everyone is shouting because they're stressed."
"No kidding," Wulfric related, "I thought for sure that the rush yesterday would be done, I guess I should've informed you guys, but then again I didn't know. Still, the sooner the better right?"
"Yeah, no worries. The paper got taken by the clerk anyways, and said then he would give it to the admin of the construction team, hopefully nothing delayed him. Anyways, enough about me, how did the meeting with the Guildmaster go?"
"It was good, although I don't know about the Guildmaster, I hope the stress and exhaustion doesn't get to him," Zeke said, "these are busier times indeed. Well, let's go inside so we can discuss about what to do with the expedition."
The two farmhands nodded then they all finally went inside the house.
"So, the Guildmaster didn't give us any deadlines for this expedition but of course sooner would still be the best option," Wulfric explained to everyone as he stood up from the dining table, "they are already struggling with the massive shipments that they are conducting, adding in the demands and complaints of the townspeople wouldn't do them any better, and so we must act."
"If that is the case, when do you think we should start," Dirk asked, "boss?"
"I vote we start on the upcoming Friday," Hawke suggested, "we have five days to prepare and get our things done before then, we can also train individually, or into groups, everyone's choice."
"That sounds sufficient," Wulfric added, "we can also go to town for supplies and gear up ourselves, you can visit the shops boss they might have something useful."
"I was just thinking about that," Zeke added, "a trinket or two might be handy, alright then shall we vote for Friday?"
A resounding chorus of "yes, yeah, and awesome" was said in the dining room.
"Okay, everyone be sure to finish your tasks by then and when Thursday comes make sure to get enough sleep, always remember that a new expedition means new experience in the dungeon so always proceed with caution, and that goes for you as well Avin," Wulfric warned.
"Do not worry about myself, I always go with caution," Avin replied solemnly, "I shall prove to everyone how useful I can be."
A glint of danger can be seen from the draconian's emerald eyes, Zeke didn't doubt those words.
"Good. Now that is it for this meeting, everyone dismissed."
"Thank you Wulfric for always speaking in behalf of me," Zeke said as soon as everyone files out of the dining room, "I just don't think I have that authoritative tone of yours that could make everyone listen."
"Do not mention it boss, I am always here to help," Wulfric said reassuringly, "but I disagree, I know that you will develop as a good-natured and strong leader, it will just take some practice and time. I know you can do it."
Zeke smiled at the comforting words of his First-in-Command. "Again, thank you it means a lot to me when you say that."
Wulfric turned a bit red seeing the radiant smile of his farmer, "ahem, it's something that everyone would be happy to assist you with boss. A—anyways, don't you have anything to do boss?"
"Hm? not that I can think of," Zeke said pondering about what to do, "oh I know, how about you go into town with me? I have been meaning to visit the town at night you see, I just never had a chance or time for that matter."
"Me? with you?" Wulfric said in genuine confusion, "wouldn't Dirk be the obvious choice for a companion? Me? I—I would just bore you out."
"Dirk would be a fine companion yes, but the one I asked is you Wulfric," Zeke said in the most saddest tone he could, "would you please just come with me..?"
Wulfric gulped, not knowing what to do about this predicament, "but I still have to do some other things for work and I—"
"Don't worry I can wait for you, and like I've said I wanna visit it at night so it's not really a problem."
By now, Wulfric was sweating and he didn't have any choice but to indulge his boss' wish, "alright... but, don't ever blame me if you get bored!"
Wulfric didn't mean to shout that last part and he was about ready to apologize but he saw that his boss is already giggling in excitement.
"Yes yes!" Zeke shouted in victory, "now, you go on and do your work, I'm gonna head out in to the farm and check the crops."
Without another word, Zeke left Wulfric in excitement while the latter is still in shock about the exchange.
