The smell of alcohol had filled the air. The screams of jubilation were all over the place. The music was blasting as well. They had pulled out all the stops that night.
Julie's celebratory screams were all up in there. Graduating from University was a milestone in her book. She was half drunk and it was only eight pm. The party seemed to have no stop in sight.
She had spent just fifteen minutes away from Jack and she was missing him already. She began going round the campus floors, looking for him.
"Hey Josh! You seen Jack!" She called out to Joshua. One of her friends. They were group of five. Jack. Joshua. Julie. Fauzia. Fatma.
"I think I saw him go out the back." Joshua was short, he used to be chubby but high school thinned him up.
As Julie moved around looking for Jack, Jack was busy hiding somewhere he wouldn't be seen. It was not his idea. He just met his twin, of whom they were separated for five years. He wanted to show him to his friends. Those idiots didn't believe him. But it was Owen's idea to remain unseen.
Owen had something he wanted to share with Jack. Owen was all serious. Jack couldn't believe he was looking at his brother after such a long time.
"So how've you been all this time? Where have you been?" Asked an excited Jack
"I've been around. That's why I'm here actually."
"I thought you came to celebrate my graduation."
"I am. I also bear gifts." He said, Jack smiled.
"I'm here to offer you a job!"
"What? How can you offer me a job?"
"There is an opening where I work. Your services will be appreciated."
Jack laughed,"Are you serious?"
"I'm serious Jack. You will be paid good money plus we would be working together."
"Which corporation would we be working for?"
"I'll give you the details later. First you have to accept."
"How can I accept? I don't even know what I'd be doing?"
"You'd be flexing your Psychology degree. We would be marketing a certain company. Making it appeal to certain customers."
"It sounds shady!"
"It is! I'm not going to lie to you Jack." His voice became clinical,"You are here celebrating that you have graduated with a degree. Celebrating that you are through with University life. Have you ever thought about the future? Like where will you get a job? How many people have you graduated with? How many people graduated last year, and the year before that? From here life is uncertain. Getting a degree isn't a guarantee for a good life. To be frank, you need an opportunity like this."
Jack was quiet. He was comprehending the weight of what Owen was saying. He was right. How many people did he know who were degree holders yet were unemployed? Too many.
"Okay. I'm glad you thought of me. I'm in."
"Okay, there's just one thing you have to do."
"What's that?" He asked though he had a pretty good idea what it was.

Julie was not tired of searching all this while. She had been all over. Fortunately she found Fatma and Fauzia. They were celebrating somewhere else, they didn't drink you see.
"Have you checked the administration block?"
True! No one in right mind would party around there. Besides, that was the one place she hadn't checked. She walked up to the administration block.
She saw Jack getting into a car. Owen looked back at the block to see a beautiful, slender, short haired woman staring at him.
"Jack?" She said. He told tell she was drunk
Owen couldn't help but smile at her. He really thought she was beautiful. He had been watching her for sometime and hadn't taken a second to notice her beauty.
"Deimos! We have to go?" A voice came from inside the car. It brought Owen to his senses. He got into the car and it drove off.
"Jack!" Shouted Julie
Just then Fauzia and Fatma appeared.
"Did you find him?" Asked Fatma
"Yeah, he just got into the car and left."
"Did he say where he was going?" Fauzia entered the conversation
"No. Something was different with him though."
"What?"
"I don't know..." She paused then muttered under her breath,"Deimos."
"What's Deimos?" Asked Fauzia
"One of Mars's Moon!" Added Fatma
That day happened to be the last day they ever saw Jack. They never heard from him. They never heard anything about him...
