Erwen needed to get some fresh air before going back to his chamber. He decided he will head to the garden before going to sleep. After all the mess that is happening around him, his sister getting married to someone she does not know, and his father asking if he's ready to be king. Erwen really hd no idea which to worry about more.
Erwen made it to the garden and he could already smell all the beautiful flowers around him. He took a deep breath, gazing at the sky, then closed his eyes while breathing out. Throwing away all the negative energy and thoughts, he needed rest.
Erwen felt better and decided he should head back to his chamber. Before he was about to walk in the castle, he heard and saw a fragile little girl cry cry next to a tree. Erwen got confused. He wondered where she came from and how she even got here. He figured she climbed over the tree. Could she have escaped? Erwen thought. None of that mattered to him right now, he just wanted to help the little girl find her home. Erwen walked up her.
"Hello, are you alright? are you lost?" Erwen asked softly and bent down so the little girl doesn't get scared. She looked at him, nodded with tears in her eyes and looked back down as she was hugging her knees.
Erwen felt really bad for her, he did not know what was going on with her but he knew a little girl do not deserve this. She looked like a seven year old, so innocent and wants to go home. Erwen wondered what brought her here but he refuse to ask any questions to not scare the little girl out. He sat next to her and smiled at her. "Do not worry, I will help you find your home." Erwen assured the little girl, he knew she would feel more comforted.
"Really?" The girl asked lifting her bead to look at Erwen so innocently and desperately. Erwen looked at her and nodded with a smile. "Mhmm." He could see the fear in her eyes and wondered what this little girl has witnessed.
Erwen patted on her head, "but first, we need to get you something to eat so you can become big and strong to help me find your home, alright?"
The little girl smiled at him innocently and nodded, she more relaxed and has stopped crying. She already trusted him.
While Erwen and the little girl were walking inside, Erwen proceeded to ask some questions as he knew she was more comfortable right now. The little girl was just fascinated by the huge castle she just walked in. Erwen smiled, he knew castle's were every little girl's dream place to live in. He was glad he brought her and try to help her.
"What is your name?" Erwen asked.
"I am Lucy, and am I in a castle?"
Erwen chuckled. "Yes Lucy, you are in a castle."
"A real castle?" Are you a guard? Lucy asked.
Erwen chuckled again. "Yes Lucy, you are in a real castle and I am Prince Erwen, prince of Aerish." Lucy stopped in her tracks and her eyes widened in fear and quickly bowed down to the prince. She was shocked she was with Prince Erwen right now, she had always dreamt of meeting him since everyone say he is a warm hearted prince, but also a powerful prince that if anyone tried to fool around with his kingdom, his people, his family, or even him, he would never show his mercy on them.
"Prince Erwen, your highness. I am sorry I didn-" Before she could finish Erwen laughed. He found this little girl so adorable. He bent down and lifted her up. "Don't worry little Lucy, you don't have to bow to me or keep anything formal."
Lucy was in shock, the prince she had always dreamed of meeting is now treating her like a little princess. "Alright." She said smiling and both of them continued to walk. "How old are you?" Erwen asked.
"I am eight, your highness." Lucy replied. Erwen chuckled. He didn't like her calling him such formal names. He preferred her to just call him by his name. She is just a small girl she doesn't need to experience keeping things so formal at this age. "Please, call me Erwen."
"Alright, Erwen." Lucy replied as she smiled at Erwen.
Erwen and Lucy made it to the kitchen and ordered the maids to cook a meal for Lucy. The maids thought the little girl was brought here to grow into another maid but they were shocked that the prince himself brought her here.
Meal was served for Lucy and she was really hungry. Erwen watched her eat so fast, he felt bad and she looked like she haven't ate a good meal in a long time. Erwen only kept smiling at her to make her feel better.
"I know you have a sister named Princess Daiyana." Lucy said. "I do and you look like her." Erwen said back. Lucy felt so happy when he said she looked like his sister. She felt like a princess, she always wanted to be one.
"Really do look like her? Can I meet her sometime?" She asked innocently. Erwen smiled at her, he did not know how his sister would react meeting Lucy but he knew his sister had a good heart so he would let Lucy meet her. She always loved kids so he thought meeting Lucy would maybe ease her mind from all the mess that is happening to her.
"Sure, but not right now. She will be very busy these days so some other time, alright?" Erwen said. Lucy gave him a big smiled and nodded.
