This was our third day on the train and we will be arriving at our destination the next morning. We stayed at the same spot for some time chatting and giggling about random things. It was not until we got a sudden jerk making us hold onto each other to balance as the train started.
We got back to our cabin only after we finished the whole pack of biscuits. When I was just about to step in Chris stopped me. I realized Adi's head was just below my foot and I was about to step onto him.He must have rolled down his bed to the floor . The bed was too small for him. We managed to move him a little bit so that there is space to set our feets.
On the other hand Min's blankets were all over the floor but not on her. She was already awake by that time but was still on bed scrolling through her phone screen.
"Get up now" Chris said, kicking his butt.
Later,on the same day we had a good lunch while Min and Adi were also with us. The instructor informed us that we would be reaching the station by 4 PM. We were asked to get ready with our luggage beforehand so that we can get off the train without any rush.
The train had to pass a river bridge before it again ran through the open lands with farms on both sides and finally to the station. The river was beautiful even though it almost gave me a heart attack when I heard the sound coming from clinking iron beneath the train. I felt like the train would fall straight into the river at any time but well the facts say that these bridges are built in and that it can hold that much weight.
Once we had crossed the glittering view of the river we reached a sort of open land with farms on both sides which looked more like grassland to me. I was sitting by the window as I enjoyed the cold breeze coming from it. The valleys were already visible as small sap green conical shapes amidst a bunch of trees. I can say now that I was actually somehow excited to explore the place more, of course not for the expedition.
The train slowly started to slow down and we knew that it was time for departure. However it just went on slowing down but it never stopped or maybe it just took a long for us to see that the train stopped because we were in one of the last railway carriages.
"I think it's stopping now. " Min said as she stared at the view outside the window.
"Not now. " I said thinking it would never stop.
"No, it's time. I can see a house. " Min pressed her face towards the window as she looked towards the heading direction.
"Is it? " I said as I grabbed my bag and trolley bag remembering the last time I arrived on the train platform.
Min was right because the train soon stopped. We could no longer see greenery around us but only people waiting in the station. The station suddenly got crowded as the other passengers from the other carriages could get out as they liked. Not like us who needed to wait for the instructor to allow us to do so. I felt like an elementary school kid who had the fear of getting lost.
I mean I almost got lost into some unknown people but now I am in the right place and pretty much safe.
The next thing we did was to drag our belongings along with us. The hardest part comes when we need to lift the trolley bags from the train and then put them on the platform floor. We were lucky enough to have Adi who just lifted the two bags together and placed them in front of us. The other girls around us had already started chatting and gossiping which I don't find a point of.
As we walked along with the bags while following the instructor and other supervisors we had to keep in mind their outfits and the colour they had worn. There were so many people rushing from one side to another that it made it even more difficult to keep track of our instructor and the supervisors.Min and I decided to hold hands. I was more concerned this time.
After walking for a few minutes we had to take the stairs to another platform. My legs didn't even start working and they were already procrastinating. How stupid is that isn't it?
In no time everyone was working according to their own paces;while some were still at the first few stairs struggling with their luggage another bunch of people were already alongside the instructor. Me and Min on the other hand were just in the middle. While climbing the stairs I suddenly remembered that I have not seen anyone since we got off the train.
I looked around to see if I could find him. I thought he was with Adi along with the instructors then I thought he might be with Lily and the other boys at the back. But he was nowhere to be found?
"Did you find him? " A voice said from behind me.
I turned back with a startle and looked at the smiling face in front of me. My heart would have skipped she beat but before it could do so I swiped the thought. "Who are you referring to? " I said looking in Min's direction and she was not with me anymore. I realized we might have lost the grasp we had on each other's hands.
"Me." Chris said as his eyes sparkled. I looked straight at him and immediately regretted it. His eyes were obviously seeing through my soul and my heart did skip a beat.
"No… no. What?! " I said laughing and pretending as if that would be the most impossible thing I would do.
His stare lightened as he carried my trolley bag in his hands along with his huge back pack on his back."Then why are you waiting in the middle of the stairs? Look, you are getting in people's way. " He said as he started going towards the point where I was supposed to go. My cheeks felt red because he was actually right.
