When Karz and Jane arrived at the council's chambers, they told by the two guards in charge of security that the council's meeting, which occurred every two full moons, have not arrived yet and that they should seek out the dwelling place of each member in order to wait there until the next moon meeting which they obeyed and decided to go to the home of
who was a close friend of Karz, until Karz formally introduce her before the council members. As they approach Samon's estate which took them quite a long time to reach because the estate was situated northward of the central city at the border end of it, Karz began telling Jane to always be mindful of how she's going to behave while they dwell in Samon's estate and had earlier told Jane during the journey, not to be timid but be bold enough to withstand his gab which would run wild without him being aware of itand she shouldn't take it seriously whenever he makes tries to make a jest of her.
"Trust me, he might have a garrulous tongue when it comes to telling wild stories but he's not bad at all and still a good member of the council who personally supported the decision to bring you back here to Tyron, so don't feel offended if you are insulted and likewise, don't offend him in any way possible in order not to create unnecessary enmity and discord", Karz profusely instructed as they reached the main gate which protected the main entrance.
"I'll do what you told me to do which is to avoid any temptation that might cause a rift between your friendship", Jane responded with a smile across her face.
"And remember that we're guests here and we must individually perform house-keep functions too as they will feed us, provide us where to rest as well as prepare a room or two separate rooms and some of the best clothes to cover our bodies and to appear perfectly clean, will be given to us without requesting for a few quans as payment for their services. Since we can't repay with quans which we don't have, we'll therefore repay such generosity with servitude", Karz instructed again.
. There were two Patrox guard which they met standing erect at their post at the main gate, without flinching and wore light silver armor which had a crest of the council's insignia on the right breastplate that glittered on it. The armor wasn't strong enough to protect their frail bodies but that didn't hinder them from using their powers to boost the strength of the armor enabling it to withstand any external effect on it. Although small in number, the two guards were experienced combatants who had fought off several theives around the area.
"You are humbly welcome, my eminence", one of the guard named Macius greeted as soon as he saw Karz and Jane while the other guard named Lokna also added with a small bow.
,"Greetings your eminence, master Samon has been waiting for you ever since you left the realm to the human realm and he had everything prepared in awaitance of your coming".
"Greetings as well, thank you both for your efforts which you haven't spared in safeguarding his estate from external attack, I will see to it that you will be duely rewarded for your hard work", Karz replied and removed his cape revealing his bald red head which had a tattoo of a black griffin at the back of his head and then asked, "Where's master Samon? Take me to him right now, there's something we must discuss with him",
"He's studying inside the library of spells underneath the main house. Follow me and I'll quickly escort you there, your eminence", Lokna, who apparently was more experienced and older than Macius, offered as and said to Macius," Protect the gate while I am gone and don't hesitate to call for backup if anyone prove too strong for you using the insignia to inform me that you are in danger",
"Yes, I will defend the gate before you come back and I will surely request your assistance in case I am not able to control the situation", Makus replied with a smile across his face.
"Okay, all right then. Let's go now, your eminence I don't wanna waste your time", Lokna said as he opened the gate with a long metal key which was black together with five large other keys held together by a large metal ring. Then he pushed the large gate opened and went inside with Karz and Jane following behind him revealing a wide path interlocked with precious red stones that were skillfully crafted to fit each other like a jigsaw puzzle. There were green flowers at either side of the wide path as it ran towards several other paths which had divided forth from the main path to other tall buildings while the main path ran it's course towards Samon's main home.
Jane had removed her cape leaving her hair to fall on the red cloak while they tread at a moderate speed on the pathway and then she asked Lokna a question which broke up the long silence,"Does your master, Samon, lives alone? If he does, why is there many buildings in this place?",
"No, he doesn't live alone although he owns it. Those other buildings are inhabited by remnants of those who suffered from the plague while his family lives in the building next to his which he built for them", Lokna replied as they walked past a statue of Samon made of polished green stones which structurally represented him performing one of his advance spells.
Then they arrived at the house which was sealed with a force field which covered the large door in order to prevent anyone else from intruding into his house.
"I think he's still busy inside the library of spells and he doesn't want anyone to disturb him while he practices his book of spells. I think I can't break this barrier for us to enter through and it only requires someone who has mastered the advanced moves that will be able to break this seal and that person is your eminence while I will return back to my post at this point onwards", Lokna said goodbye and went back without delay.
"Step aside Jane and stay behind me so that you won't get hurt when I break the seal",Karz said and shifted his right arm in an upward motion creating a bright red energy which surges forth around his arm and his left arm. Then like a thunder lightening, Karz surges forward and issued forth an enormous ray of red energy which totally consumed the seal leaving nothing behind.
Jane was mystified and looked in awe from behind of what just transpired before her because she couldn't comprehend how Karz was able to summon such enormous amount of red energy because she hadn't been able to
to generate such grand energy back at home, ever since she knew she had such powers. Her mother had taught her how to control her powers but not how to use it against another object without setting it up ablaze which she secretly did behind her house several times. Once she had tried heating up an apple and a pie but both ended up being charred to coal which made her give up trying to use her powers to control objects. Her hopes and expectations had being revived when Karz taught her how to lift up little objects without any difficulty which made her eager to master the full art of using her powers effectively and she had seen some result and few successes in it. Although Karz told her that he will teach her the next basic steps when they get to the central city before the duel, she wasn't quite happy that they had to leave the tavern where she had gotten used to the comfort, a child Patrox she made a friend and most of all the interest in learning the full use of her powers because she had already mastered some techniques.
"Come on, let's go inside now. There's no time to waste", Karz said and opened the large door, entering inside with Jane behind him revealing a hallway which is took them to a raised platform of stairs by the right, that ran upstairs. Jane admired the beautiful choral patterns on both sides of the wall as they climbed up the stairs into a wide and spacious central room that had five antiques at the far right corner side of wall which was laced all over with different colorful pattern While a vase-like object filled with precious purple flowers sat inside a large round window that protruded outwards.
A sweet fragrance emitted by a spell placed on the purple flowers engulfed the whole room filling the air with a tranquil coolness which made Jane feel drowsy and tired. The fragrance reminded Jane of her childhood which was tough for her but her mother helped her pull through since she had no friends until the tenth grade where she had only a friend called Emily Johnson. The roof heightened upwards far above them where several beautiful flowers covered with ease while a bed which had a large flower blanket interwoven with a cloth, was raised by a high platform that had spiral staircase which ran from top to the bottom clear floor.
