Chapter Start!
Yawn~
Liam outstretched his arms and looked around the large and empty bedroom. He tilts his head.
Hmmm, I wonder. That butler isn't here. Why is that?
Liam looks over to the bedside table. He stares at the orb.
"That thing... I need to figure out what it is..."
Butler View walks in.
"Good morning master, your breakfast is ready in the dining hall." The butler announces.
"Ah, I shall be there as soon as I'm dressed." Liam prepares an outfit.
Butler View looks at Liam as he leaves the room. An unnoticed judging glare is on his face as he leaves.
"This outfit is harder to put on than the one I wore yesterday. All these buttons and layers to put on. Sigh~ I hope breakfast is good." Liam finishes up with the outfit.
Liam begins to walk out of the door.
Wait a minute, I have no clue how to get there. I know where nothing is. I'm in trouble. I definitely can't continue saying that I'm fine. Hmmm, I know what I'm gonna do.
Liam walks out of the door. He looks around for somebody. A maid is seen down the hall fixing a vase of flowers.
"Perfect." Liam walks over to her and suddenly collapses.
The maid looks down. Horrified, she screams for help. The maid rushes over to a nearby guard and calls for his help. The guard and maid take Liam to his bed. The maid informs the butler of his fall. Butler View then informs the Lord and Lady of what has happened.
"My son! My only son! He can't be hurt that badly. I refuse to believe this." Lady Shiver screeches at the dining table.
"He had a fall yesterday on a horse. I neglected to tell you this due to him seeming fine. He got up and ran off. He did exhibit some strange behavior but the doctor said there was nothing wrong."The butler explains.
"What!? What has your negligence done to my son!? I must go and check on him!" Lady Shiver hurries out of the room.
Butler View looks at Lord Shiver. Lord Shiver looks back.
"What kind of strange behavior did my son show?" Lord Shiver asks Butler View.
"His behavior towards me is extremely cold, I'm sure you're aware. But after falling he showed an expression never seen by me before. He smiled at me, my Lord." Butler View looks at Lord Shiver's face.
"I see. The doctor wouldn't be able to notice this. He must have hit his head badly. To have such a personality change." Lord Shiver grins. "My son needs a talk with me, once he wakes."
"Yes my lord" Butler View moves to the corner of the dining hall.
In Liam's bedroom is a very worried Lady Shiver and a very hungry Liam. Liam, faking his sleeping state and incredibly hungering for breakfast. Lady Shiver crying by his side doesn't seem to notice.
Liam slowly opens his eyes. He sees the weeping lady and immediately knows who it is.
Those jewels, and rich attire... not to mention her long black hair and silver eyes. Who else could it be other than Lady Shiver?
"Mother, I'm hungry." Liam looks at Lady Shiver with a hopeful face.
"You're hungry? You! You maid in the corner go get some food ready and bring it here!" Lady Shiver yells at a maid.
"Thank you." Liam smiles.
Lady Shiver's eyes widen a bit, and she smiles back.
Lady Shiver is one of the people I can rely on. She spoils Liam a lot in the novel. The only factor that makes her inconvenient is the fact she hates Phoebe. But if I don't be close to Phoebe around her it should be alright.
The food is brought in and Lady Shiver watches as Liam eats it all.
"So how do you feel?" Lady Shiver asks as Liam sets down his fork.
"I feel okay. But I think there's something I should tell you." Liam sighs.
"What is it?" Lady Shiver looks worried.
"I think I forgot how to navigate the mansion. All my memories of how to do that are gone." Liam looks at the empty plate.
"They're gone, just how-" Lady Shiver is interrupted by loud yelling in the courtyard.
"Why did you steal, you damn slave!?" A young girl's voice is heard across the mansion.
"Who is screaming that loudly!?" Lady Shiver walks over to the window to see who's screaming.
"Oh my, it's the triplets. Your sisters are fighting a young slave boy." Lady Shiver shakes her head in disapproval.
Liam suddenly gets up.
"Where are you going?" Lady Shiver asks in confusion.
"To save a life." Liam runs out of the room and down to the courtyard.
"To save a life? Since when did my son care about a mere slave's life?" Lady Shiver taps her finger on the windowsill.
He has an unusual appearance, with red hair and purple eyes. So it is him, the slave that died after being framed for theft by a maid. I've got to save him.
"Hey! Stop! You girls stop!" Liam yells at the triplets.
"Huh, Liam? What do you want? Oh to join in! Right?" The sister with green eyes asks.
The Triplets all have black hair. The only difference in appearance is their eyes. Hannah is wild and has green eyes. Maybelle is calm with grey eyes. Lastly, there's Diana the green left, and the grey right-eyed sister. Diana's personality is the curious type. They are fourteen.
"Erm Hannah? I don't want to join in, I don't think that's the one who stole from you either." Liam rubs the back of his head.
"Oh, then who did?" Diana speaks up.
"Yeah who did?" Hannah drops the stick she was beating the slave boy with.
"I think it was your maid Hannah. She framed this slave boy. She is probably running away with your jewels as we speak." Liam walks over to the slave boy and helps him up.
"What? Her!?! I should have known! Girls, we have a maid to kill! Let's go." Hannah erupts into a fury. Her sisters follow her to hunt for the maid.
"Thank you very much, my Lord. I owe you my life! I'll do whatever you wish." The slave boy cries.
"Look at yourself, cut up and bruised. Just what could you ever do for me? I don't need you to serve me" says Liam trying to avoid responsibility.
"Please I'm begging you! Let me serve you! If I go back with the other slaves I'll be... !" The slave boy cries more.
"Uh fine, what's your name?" Liam shrugs.
"Jasper is what I'm called." Jasper smiles with a face covered in tears.
