She walked slowly and majestically down the stairs in her blue flowing gown, which hugged her body perfectly. For her sixteen-year-old self, you could say she's got the perfect shape, which had always been hidden beneath her nerdy outfit.
Her face glowed just like the sun. All eyes were on her, as she took the last step. It was strange to see her dress like this, without her usual eyeglasses and a big shirt. Celia walked closer to her to welcome her.
"Happy Birthday, Baby Sister," she cooed.
"I told you this dress is too revealing," Rhea complained more in a whisper.
Celia chuckled. "You look sexy in it," she whispered back.
"Ahem," their dad cleared his throat, drawing their attention. "You won't want to keep your guests waiting," he whispered.
She walked closer to them to say hi. She stared at the faces she saw. Most faces were strange to her. She wondered who had invited them cause the last time she checked, she had only invited Louie.
While some were staring lustfully at her, others only complimented her beauty. Their dad had to leave the house when he received a call from work. After a few hours, the party was still going on, but she got bored and decided to take a short stroll, alone.
She tiptoed out of the house through the back door, without being noticed.
She will just take a walk to the sea. She had thought.
But instead of going through the usual way, she decided to check out the abandoned pathway. She dragged her flowing gown up, walking slowly through the desolated area.
According to what she heard, It had been abandoned for ages and nobody dared to follow that path. Although she was afraid, something kept pushing her. The place was so quiet; the sound of a falling pin would be easily heard.
She noticed some strange flowers on the pathway with her name written on them.
'Happy Birthday Aqua' was written below her name.
Despite being afraid, she kept pushing on. She wasn't bothered about what she saw until she saw a young woman. Her body seemed like glass because she could see through it. She walked closer to Rhea, holding a package.
"Welcome Rhea, I've been waiting so long for you."
Rhea widened her eyes in shock. "Y-you can talk?"
It's surprising to see the glass woman as she calls her, talk.
She smiled. "I talk. I'm not a glass woman as you thought. I'm made of water. You can call me Aquamarine or Aquamarina" the woman answered. Rhea couldn't utter a word as she stared at Aquamarine in shock. "You can touch me."
Rhea moved closer to her, curious to know if she was made of water as she claimed. She stretched her hand to touch her. Touching Aquamarine, Rhea pulled back immediately.
"Y-you're made of water!!"
"I told you."
"Who are you?" Rhea asked, folding her arms.
For some reason, she felt comfortable talking to her.
"I'm your water guidance."
Rhea blinked. "W-water guidance?"
"There is no time for that; your sister is aware of your absence." She stretched the package to Rhea. "Take this. It's a birthday gift from your Mother, Serena."
Rhea laughed. "You made a mistake. My mom's name is Edith, not Serena or what did you call it."
Aquamarine smiled. "There is a lot you do not know yet, child. Take this, go. Happy birthday once more."
Rhea wanted to say something but before she could, Aquamarine disappeared. She sighed. Dragging her gown up, she found her way back to the house. As she walked into the house, one thing remained, this is the weirdest birthday she has ever celebrated!!
**
"Come, Rhea, come," the sea whispered. "Come!".
Rhea opened her eyes slowly to find herself seated on the couch in her pajamas. Her book fell off her hand and she groaned. She must have slept off while reading her book. She raised her head to check the time. It was just a few minutes past one. That was the time, she always had that same dream.
A dream she had been having since her birthday. Although it's been over a week now, she didn't stop having that dream. She had tried to go back to that same spot to see if she would come in contact with the glass lady, sorry, the water lady.
What's her name again? Aquamarine, but couldn't see her.
The last time she went there, was yesterday, she only saw some beautiful seashells, which she brought back home with her. She had used them as decorations, giving her room a new look. She stared at the seashells and smiled.
She wished she could see Aquamarine again, just to ask her a few questions.
She planned to go back again tomorrow, hoping to see her, and just in case she doesn't, she will pick more shells to decorate her room.
She yawned slightly and stood up from the couch, picking her book up.
Enough of the reading. She thought.
She needs to sleep now. Later today, she will be having a biology test; she should get a night of good sleep so she won't look like a zombie.
Rhea closed her eyes and by the time she had opened it, the rays of sunlight were already shining brightly on her face. She dragged her duvet cover over her face to prevent the light, adjusting herself in the process.
Celia groaned. She was already dressed in her uniform and Rhea was here, adjusting herself on the bed.
"Rhea," Celia cooed, but there was no reply. She groaned. "Get up, Rhea. It's past seven already."
"Two more minutes please," Rhea whined
Celia scoffed. "Really? Like, are you for real?" She asked and Rhea nodded, eyes still closed. "If you don't get up now, I'll drain you in cold water," Celia threatened
Rhea furrowed her brows. "Are you for real?"
"Do you want to dare me?" Celia asked and Rhea stood up sluggishly,
"I won't want to do that. I know you too well. Your threat ain't empty."
"Whatever! Just know you have less than thirty minutes to get dressed."
Rhea sighed. "Where is Dad?"
"He has gone out."
"Isn't it too early?"
"It isn't. You're the one that has refused to wake up early today."
"I don't want your trouble this morning. Thanks for waking me up, though. You can now go back to your base now."
Celia furrowed her brows. "Are you driving me away?"
Rhea nodded. "Of course, yes."
