It has been two days now since Alan and Reece joined Waggoner High School. Their attitudes, as usual, had been strange, not only to the students but to the teachers also. They come to class only when they feel like and when they eventually do come, they hardly listen to lectures.
Sometimes, Rhea wonders why they came to school in the first place. She had tried as much as she could to avoid them. She has this strange feeling that they know her. She doesn't know if it's true. Maybe that's because Reece's gaze is always in her direction.
Every other thing seems normal for Rhea, all through these two days. Sasha had surprisingly stopped bullying her. Louie, as usual, remains a loyal and kind friend.
It was time for lunch; every member of the class was out for lunch. Louie was out to get lunch since Rhea complained of being too lazy to step out, leaving her all alone with Alan and Reece. They were seated just a few desks away from hers. And it doesn't look like they will be leaving the class soon.
She turned slightly to stare at them. As usual, Alan's face was covered In a black mask, His face was down as he focused his attention on his phone. Reece, on the other hand, has been trying to knot a bow to no avail. She found herself turning fully to stare at him. He was wearing a black denim jacket. His red hair has been changed to plain blue.
He seductively batted his long lashes in frustration and Rhea smiled. Gosh, to her, he was so cute, even without seeing his full face due to the strands of hair, she could still tell he was cute. Reece's lips curved into a smile and she had to turn quickly.
Did he notice she was staring at them? She thought.
Rhea's heart, beat so fast. What if he talks rudely to her like he did the other day?
She waited for his reaction but none came. She sighed. She'll just mind her business and wait for Louie. While waiting, she decided to arrange the books scattered throughout the table. Some books were on the floor.
She groaned. That's Louie's work. She helped him arrange his books first before hers. She placed the last book into her bag and sighed.
What's keeping Louie so long? She wondered, as her stomach grumbled.
She brought out her phone to listen to some Blues. Maybe that will keep her distracted for a while. A hand touched her and she raised her head.
"Hey, baby sister," Celia cooed.
Rhea groaned. What the heck is she doing here?
"What are you doing here?" She asked. Celia's attention was diverted to the two looking strange guys. "Hey, I'm talking to you!" she yelled, as she walked closer to her sister who didn't seem interested in her talks.
Celia chuckled. "Chill, babe. Who are they? I mean those cute boys over there?"
Rhea stared at her sister strangely.
Can't Celia see that these guys are strange?
"Talk to me."
She hissed. "You can ask them yourself." She walked back to her seat, with Celia trailing behind. "By the way, why are you here?"
"I was just walking by, and I decided to see my baby sister, who finds it so difficult to visit me in class."
"You know how busy I am."
Celia chuckled. "And me? I'm not busy right?"
"I never said you weren't."
"You just..."
"Celia, free me please."
Celia rolled her eyes. "Where is Louie?"
"He went to get lunch. It's been over twenty minutes now and I haven't seen him."
Louie walked in. "Celia?"
"I was just asking about you from Rhea."
Louie smiled. "That's so nice of you."
Celia smiled and stood up. "I should get going, now that Louie is back." She bent a bit to Rhea's level. "We have a lot to talk about," she whispered
"About what?" Rhea whispered back.
Celia chuckled. "Them.". Rhea glared at her and she chuckled. "See you around, babe. Bye Louie."
After Celia left, Rhea turned to Louie, who seemed busy sorting out what he bought.
"What took you so long?". He sat down and handed over the snacks to her. "Thanks."
He put some fries into his mouth. "You won't believe who I saw at the Cafe."
Rhea rolled her eyes. "Who?"
"Will."
She groaned. "Will?" He nodded. "I thought he wasn't in school today?"
"Surprisingly, he was."
What's he doing in school? She thought.
"And Sasha?"
"She's with Dahlia. I think those two are up to something."
"You think? Or you know?"
He giggled. "l think they've got some plans."
Rhea furrowed her brows. "I still don't get you."
Louie moved closer to her. "I think Sasha is in love with Alan."
Rhea gasped, covering her mouth. "A-are you serious?"
Louie nodded. "I overheard them saying it. And Dahlia might like Reece."
Rhea rolled her eyes. This can't be true.
Who falls in love with weird people like those two? Weird people fall in love with Weird people.
She chuckled. "Do you think they might be serious about it?" She asked.
He relaxed on the chair, chewing his fries. "I can't say. Let's just wait and see."
"Everyone knows that Sasha is in love with Will and Dahlia is in love with you."
Louie ignored her mulching on his fries.
There is no way he will accept the fact that Dahlia is in love with him.
Rhea sighed. What Louie said cannot be the truth. Sasha can't be in love with Will and Alan at the same time. If she does, there's going to be trouble!!
**
Rhea walked along the street with Celia, who kept talking about the two strange boys. She explained how cute, she thinks they are even though they are so weird. At that moment, Rhea was far deep in thought. She just couldn't take her mind off the fact that Sasha was in love with Alan.
It is not like she likes him; she just doesn't understand what she saw in him to make her fall for him. She still prefers Will to Alan. He's cute and doesn't hide any part of his face as Alan does.
Although Will is troublesome and can sometimes be termed as a bully, he's still far better than Alan who has never said a word to anyone. She still doesn't understand how he communicates with his friend, Reece.
Maybe he talks through the mask? Maybe he talks in a whisper? She thought, rolling her eyes.
