Celia frowned. "Like seriously?"
"Like seriously. Go!" Rhea replied.
Celia groaned and stomped out of the room. Rhea chuckled and stood up to take her bath. By the time she was done, time was already far spent and she had to quickly get dressed. There was no time to check herself in the mirror. She dragged her bag and ran downstairs.
"Breakfast," Celia cooed
"I don't think I have the time. Can you help me bring my lunchbox to school?"
Celia furrowed her eyebrows. "Why do you look so..."
Rhea wouldn't let her finish her statement before saying goodbye and then ran out of the house into the street. Celia sighed. How she wished Rhea was calm enough to listen to her. All she wanted to say to Rhea was that her hair was scattered and her face looked like someone who hadn't slept for some days.
As Rhea walked through the gate, everyone kept staring at her.
Why are they staring at her like they've seen a ghost? She thought.
She ignored them and found her way to her locker.
"Is something wrong with her?" Someone asked.
"I think so. Can't you see her hair?" Another answered.
Rhea wondered why they kept saying odd things about her. She turned sideways to see people holding their phones. She turned quickly, and without taking her books, she ran in the direction of the restroom. She needed to know why people kept staring strangely at her.
She entered the restroom and stood in front of the mirror.
"What!" She almost screamed but had to restrain herself.
She looks like a psychopath. No. More like a zombie or maybe a walking dead.
No wonder everyone stared at her that way. Staring at the mirror, she adjusted her hair and washed her face. She made sure her face was looking better before she headed back to her locker.
The passage was mostly empty now, as most students had gone back to class. She picked out the books she needed. Someone touched her and she turned to see Louie.
"Hey Louie," she cooed
"Hey, Rhea. What's up?" he greeted
"I'm good, we should head to class now."
"Yeah. You look so tired. Are you sure you had enough rest?"
Rhea chuckled. "Not really. I slept so late, reading my biology note."
Louie furrowed his brow. "What for?"
"Are you for real? We are having a biology test this morning."
"Oh my! I didn't even know we were having a test today. Are you sure it's today?"
"I..."
"Hey guys," Someone said, stopping Rhea from talking.
She raised her head. It was a boy about their age. His red hair was packed in a man's bun, with little strands, slightly covering the left part of his face. He was dressed in blue ripped-off jeans and a white t-shirt, which hugged his body perfectly. His white sneakers had a blue rope. From his way of dressing, it's easy to know that he belonged to the high class. He looks like a typical badass rich boy.
"Hey!" He yelled, jolting Rhea back to reality. "My eyes are up here!"
Rhea diverted her gaze, embarrassed, while Louie chuckled.
"What do you want us to do for you?" Louie asked.
The new boy rolled his eyes. "You mean you? Well, I don't know if you can show me to the principal's office?"
"I would love to do that," Louie answered. He turned to face Rhea. "Let's go."
"Can she stay back, please? I will appreciate it if we go alone without her," the new boy said.
"She will have to go..."
"Louie, don't worry. You can go with them. I'll be in the class," Rhea said and left them alone.
She doesn't know why the new boy is acting strange to her.
Maybe it's in her nature to be treated that way. She thought as she found her way to the class.
The class was crowded and noisy as usual. Rhea was seated in her seat with Louie who had come back a few minutes ago. The door opened and the principal entered with two boys. One was the boy Louie had taken to the principal's office and the other she hadn't seen before.
He was dressed, in black: black ripped-off jeans and a black hoodie, black sneakers, and a mask. You could hardly see his face due to his mask, but you could tell his hair color, which was reddish with blue tips because some strands fell across his face.
Rhea rolled her eyes, wondering what sort of strange boys had decided to join Waggoner High School.
"Good morning, class," the principal greeted and they answered him in unison. "I'd like to introduce your new classmates to you."
The students began to murmur.
Why are there new students after Rhea?
It wasn't normal for students to join a class in the middle of the term or at the end of it.
Rhea wondered why new students were joining them in the middle of the term too. She had thought she was the only one who had to do that because of the nature of her Father's job.
They might be just like her. She thought. Maybe they had to move just like her.
"Quiet class," the principal said. He turned to face the two new boys. "Can you introduce yourself to the class?"
The boy in the white T-shirt was the only one who spoke. "My name is Reece Raymond and his name is Alan Akish. I think that's all you need to know."
The principal chuckled. "Students, make sure you welcome them properly. You both should have a seat."
Reece left the stage and walked in between the desks. He got to Rhea's place and stared at her before moving forward. He stopped in front of a desk.
"Stand up," he ordered. One of the boys stood up. "And you too."
The other boy had to stand up, and immediately he did; Alan walked, his head down, to the seat and sat down while Reece sat beside him.
Rhea turned to stare at them. She noticed Reece was staring at her so she quickly turned. She doesn't know why Reece kept staring at her and why Alan wouldn't say a word. All she knows is that, with these new strange boys in Waggoner High, things are not going to be any better!!
