A small ship landed on a jungle planet far outside of human traveled space. A part called Outlaw Haven, cause it was just that. The Universal Federation never came out here, and they never had any need to. That was until The Piracy Pact, an order that stated all pirates and criminals who pledged to The Universal Federation would be pardoned. That's why the Hunter Corps was sent out.
The Hunter Corps was an elite branch of the military, the special forces when special forces wasn't enough. Founded in 2906, The Hunter Corps had several thousand wins of strategic, or political, importance under their belt. But the mission these two were sent on would cripple the resistance once and for all.
You see, while the universe had tales of everlasting peace, war had broken out across The Universe. The two sides were The Universal Federation and The Universal Resistance, they fought for seventeen years with the lines changing constantly. It was time The Universal Federation started to win, and decimate The Rebellion.
Two troops with federation uniforms and sleek black helmets that covered their whole head with red markings where the eyes were walked into a bar. They were shot dirty glances, and were cursed in different languages from all over the universe. Their translators were going haywire trying to keep up, one of them tried to translate simple English. They didn't like being this far from federation controlled space, but they were there on a mission. They walked to a man in the corner of the bar and sat across from him.
The man had white hair that turned into a grey about halfway down. He wore a navy blue jacket with a white undershirt, and his eyes were covered by mirrored sunglasses. They threw a file down on the table, a large one at that, of every crime Lucky has ever committed. At least everything they knew about.
"Mr.Lucky we've searched quite a bit for you. You're a hard man to find," The soldier on the left said.
"What're your names?" Lucky asked taking a sip from his glass.
The soldier on the left took off his helmet revealing short blonde hair and blue eyes. He had a tattoo under his right eye showing he'd served at least ten years in the Universal Federation, and a tattoo of Medusa his cheek showed he was from the Perseus Cluster. Lucky looked at him and chuckled a bit, he was a damn fool taking that helmet off. But there were no Resistance here, of course there was no Federation here until now.
"Marcus," he said "I'm a captain in the Hunter Corps from the Perseus Cluster. I'm also commander of The Black Fleet, My Ship is The UF-AA-Perseus." He set his helmet to the side.
"Ah, the Perseus Cluster. Named after the old Greek hero. Also the hero from a great book nine hundred years ago." Lucky said raising his glass and setting it down. "As for your Fleet and Ship, I know well of The Black Fleet. I also know you Marcus, and I know you aren't captain of an AA-Class ship. I won't tolerate lies. Now you, Spooky, unmask."
A grey skinned neptonian woman walked over and filled his glass, and walked away as the soldier on the right took her helmet off. She had long brown hair and emerald green eyes. She had a tattoo under her eye showing she served at least five years in the Universal Federation, and the way her hair was done was standard from troops transferring from the andromeda galaxy.
"I'm Jessica, sergeant in the Hunter Corps and I'm from the andromeda galaxy. Member of The Black Fleet, Navigator of the UF-CD-Perseus," She said also setting her helmet to the side.
"The first galaxy to see tyranny. You know you should order something. Blue ecstasy is a neptonian special, and has a fair kick." Lucky said taking a drink.
"Shall we arrest you now or will you hear what we came for?" Marcus asked.
"I know what you're here for. You're damn Piracy pact, and us doing missions for you. I tried to stay neutral in this fight, but one of you were bound to find me." Lucky answered drinking some more.
"So, do you need to know the mission?" Jessica asked.
"Yeah. That'd be helpful." Lucky answered.
"We need your ship to sneak onto the planet known as burning sapphire." Marcus said.
"My guess is for the alliance council meeting next year. Take out the leaders for morale damage and other planets fall in line and, with any luck, take out their Generals." Lucky said.
"Precisely. Let's go." Jessica said standing up with Marcus.
They both grabbed their helmets, and began walking out. Lucky finished his drink and followed them. He wasn't to thrilled with this new development in his life, but he would follow orders.
