Chapter 5 - Chapter V:Crew stories.

Jeremiah and Ghost Eye sat in the armory going over weapons and ammo. "You know. I've never seen your Slash-1. Where is it?" Ghost Eye asked. "Left it at home so my kid could practice. He was almost old enough to join the army." Jeremiah answered. "Damn.....did he make it?" Ghost Eye asked. Jeremiah shook his head pulling a plasma rifle off the shelf. It was all black with blue highlights. It was shaped like an old SCAR rifle from the 21st century. It became a standard in the 29th century, and is considered the best rifle in the military. Ghost Eye looked down "is the scarf his?" He asked. Jeremiah smiled softly "yeah....he said it would bring me luck. It did.....but at what cost...." he answered. Ghost Eye looked up "I can't begin to understand, mainly because we weren't allowed to have children in the military, but I understand enough to know that I'm sorry for you." He said. Jeremiah patted his shoulder and walked out. Meanwhile on the navigation deck Ivan sat looking at an asteroid field in the middle of nowhere. Jessica walked in, and saw the holo table brought up "Where's that?" She asked. "That's my old home...or what's left of it...." Ivan said shutting the table off. "Oh....I keep forgetting that sixth Gens and below remember home" She said sitting down across from him. "Yeah. Jeremiah fought in the war same as Lucky. Jeremiah chose to flirt with everyone except Lucky and Ghost Eye to cope....Lucky wandered the universe for countless years and takes his anger out on empty armor sets." Ivan said stretching. "What about everyone else?" Jessica asked. "Ghost Eye cleans every gun twice, Cat formed a relationship with Lucky to fill an empty space in herself, and Ghost meditates." Ivan said. "What about you?" Jessica asked. "Sit in here, look at planets and nebulas, and stare at that asteroid field I used to call home" Ivan answered. "Ok..." Jessica said staring at the holo table. In the lounge Marcus sat across from Ghost who was going through the bar. "Blue ecstasy, Hades's Dream, Angels envy, Blue ecstasy, Pandora's love, GWS standard, Blue ecstasy, Andromeda's nebula, Medusa's venom, and Blue ecstasy...god that man loves alcohol from Neptune" Ghost said sitting down. "Medusas venom is pretty good. It comes from the Perseus cluster straight from my home world" Marcus said. "You ever have actual alcohol?" Ghost asked. "Fine. Give me some Blue ecstasy." Marcus answered. "You are not having that trash. I may as well give you moonshine. Let me get you some black rose." Ghost said standing up and walking to a cabinet and grabbing a black bottle of wine. She poured two glasses and gave one to Marcus. The wine was a matte black, and smelled like death. Marcus picked it up "this smells horrible...." he said. "Yeah...the immortal death made it. Just taste it." Ghost said. Marcus prepared himself for a horrible taste. He slowly drank the void that filled his glass, and tasted warm wild berries and hot pancakes. "That's....amazing" Marcus said. "What do you taste?" Ghost asked. "Wild berry pancakes. My mom made them all the time" Marcus said. Ghost drank a bit and smiled "I taste cooked river monster.....they were a huuuuge problem where I hid out for two lives" Ghost said smiling. Meanwhile in Cats room Lucky and Cat were laying down next to each other. "You're an annoying psychopath." Cat said. "And you're a lovely overrated machine" Lucky said. "At least I can go through a metal detector." Cat said. "At least a I can take a hit weakling" Lucky said. "You're about to get hit right now." Cat said smiling a bit. "That the best you got. My bones are actually metal. You'll break your hand before I even feel a bit of pain." Lucky answered back. "Fair enough" Cat said kissing him. Lucky looked around at all of Cats drawings, plants, and models. Cat tried to make these containers like her home, but no matter what she did it would never be the same. Everyone carried the scars, but showed it differently. Jeremiah hid, Ghost Eye channeled it, Cat denied it, Lucky turned to alcohol and travel, Ivan turned to navigation, and Ghost went into her meditative state. Everyone on the crew had something to run away from, but the lieutenants wanted something to run to. Their home. But all their home was now is asteroids and star dust. Never to be whole again. Lucky felt Cat grab onto him as the ship took off. Lucky smiled slightly and hugged Cat smiling "I gotcha" he said. Lucky wasn't sure of the road ahead, but he was sure that no matter what happened the crew would come out on top.
