Chapter 7 - Chapter VII:Catching a killer.

A few weeks after the first murder on the Lightning Strike five more bodies were found. All in high clearance areas. The lounge was now an investigation area with papers and evidence scattered about. Jeremiah, Ghost Eye, Cat, Ivan, and Ghost were cleared due to the fact that over the weeks none of them had opportunity. They had narrowed the suspects down to three people. A Martian veteran, a humanoid from H-5-MW, and an ex-alliance member from the Pandora system. The pictures were all recent, and showed no scratches. However the humanoid had accelerated healing, and Martians have tough skin. Jeremiah walked in "Mariahs dead." He said grimly. Lucky took the Martian's picture off the board "Dammit..." He muttered. "I think it's the humanoid." Ghost said walking in. "Why do you think that?" Jeremiah asked. "Toxicology report came back. Milky Way poison was used on three of the victims. Specifically it's found among huntresses because it contains six toxins only found on their planet." Ghost said. "And? We haven't been to the Milky Way in three years." Lucky said. "Yeah, but she has her own personal garden." Ghost said. "Get security armored up now! Lock down the living quarters, and get those Hunter Corps troops up here now!" Lucky shouted. He hit the alarm locking down high risk areas. Ghost and Jeremiah ran out doing as Lucky said. Within minutes Lucky was leading a squad down hallways into the living quarters. He reached the officers section, and reached the humanoids door. "We get in, arrest Cera, and get out. Ok?" Lucky said. Everyone nodded. "Alright Marcus. Unlock the door." Lucky said. "Why me?" Marcus asked. His voice was a lot deeper since he was wearing his helmet now. The markings on his eyes glowed whenever he talked. "Cause you have five years of training, and I don't like you." Lucky said. Marcus sighed and carefully walked to the door. He took a pistol out, and got ready. The pistol was closely modeled off of an old M9 from the 21st century. It was standard in the Federation, and was a sturdy pistol. Lucky ripped out his kunai sparking them to life. Marcus opened the door and walked in with Jeremiah and Lucky. Cera sat on her bed, and looked up. "Hello....what's going on?" She said. She had a pale complexion with light green markings an her cheeks. Her eyes were an unnatural shade of green, and her hair was dark brown. She wore leaf decorated wooden braces, and metal gloves with sharp claws. "Cera. You know why. You're under arrest for the murders of six crew members." Lucky said with no emotion. "Look. Just because I have a garden that can grow poison in my garden doesn't mean I poisoned the four crew mates. Everyone has access to my garden, remember? I even reported the plants missing." Cera said. Lucky sighed "Shit....she's right.." He said. "Wait. Four?" Jeremiah said. "No three. I said three." Cera said a bit of panic coming to her eyes. Jeremiah readied his rifle "Stand up!" He yelled. Cera stood up quietly smiling "I did really mean to say three. Three poison victims. Two stab victims, and only one murderer. I guess you found me now." She said. The ship suddenly rocked, and Cera lurched forward as the alarms blared throughout the ship. Cera tried to wrestle the gun out of Jeremiahs hands, and one shot rang throughout the room. Lucky stood without his kunai, and instead held an old pistol that was now called a leadslinger. It was a colt 1911, and smoke came from the barrel. Cera fell dead, and the ship rocked more. "What is that?" Marcus asked. "20th century weapon with modifications, and seranin bullets." Lucky said walking out "As for the rocking of the ship. We're under attack.".
