After stating his wish and his family discussing how they were gonna train him, Dane and the others exited the tent and made their way towards the center of the settlement to the celebration point for Danes Birthday as its Heir.
On the way one could see the large gathering of people waiting for them as the sun began to set over the horizon.
The time they spent in the tent together made it seem as if time passed quickly to them.
Once at the gathering of people and bond fires, they quickly began to gain attention as everyone had been waiting for them to begin the celebration.
Salam walked towards a platform built for speech that was located near the largest bonfire in the center of the gatherings.
He began to speak and even though his voice shouldn't have been able to reach over to all of the people present, his voice still made its way to their ears as if carried by the wind.
"Thank you for gathering my clansmen and woman for this wonderful event. Our clans heir will be turning 5 this year and it is wonderful to have all of you here to celebrate with us." He spoke to them all with his head bowed slightly as a sign of gratitude
"My years as clan head have begun to take a toll on my body and I'm soon to retire to my grave and so I will have to pass the seat on the my sons." He said with a sigh as he could feel In his bones he was already one foot away from death
On hearing such news, the clansmen immediately understood why he had to retire so soon. His cultivation was crippled in a battle years ago and since then the clan had begun to decline. But no one regretted having him in the seat even after he was crippled since his deeds and accomplishments for the clan had gained him the respect and gratitude of all in the clan.
But due to him being crippled his old age had began to catch up to him quickly in passing years after he reach his 120 year alive. He was already 130 years old this year and he was to die soon.
All in the clan felt saddened that they were about to lose another great leader already but they new that time was almost completely out for this man as he was already beginning to lose control over his legs.
To others outside the clan he may seem old and weak but to the clan he back was as large and strong as mountains as he carried the clan throughout the years.
" that's enough dwelling on me, it's time to celebrate Danes Birthday and the crowning of the new clan Heads" Salam said with a cheerful voice.
He had already come to terms with himself on the fact that he wouldn't live after another 10 years and though he was sad, their wasn't much he could do about it as he had wasted to much time and his wound had already done its damage.
And with that the celebration began. The bonfires blazed as traditional music played throughout the gathering.
Dane ran around with many other kids as they played, though he didn't really enjoy it as he was acting to keep the kids entertained, his thoughts were elsewhere.
`if only there was a way..' he thought to himself as he walked towards his grandfather who was currently resting in a chair positioned on stage for him to sit and enjoy the atmosphere of this enjoyable event.
He stepped in front of him before he spoke "Grandfather is there no way to expand your lifespan fr?" He asked in a worried tone. He had just come to the world and finally had a family to call his own, he wasn't ready to lose someone yet.
Salam sighed and looked at his grandson with a wry smile on his face "sadly not Dane, we've tried many herbs whilst on the move to our new home and there was very few successful finds." He said to h as he rubbed his hand through Danes hair and looked into his silver-gold eyes.
Dane looked at him thoughtfully before nodding his head whilst stating in his mind 'there must be a way, I'll find one for sure.' He then smile to his grandfather with hope in his gaze as he ran off back to the celebration.
Hours soon passed as Dane played with the other children and the moon slowly rose as it became Mid-Night.
By this point, the celebration was nearly over, some of the elders had already left to go to sleep but there were still a good amount of people left.
During the celebration, they had already gone through the crowning of the 2 brothers as clan leaders, and they were now mainly only adults still up drinking alcoholic drinks from barrels.
The area was filled with booming laughter and smiles as everyone was glad how they managed to find a decent place to call home after all they had been through.
In the clearing near the speaking platform, sitting in a couple of wooden chairs that seemed intricately carved by hand, Dalm and Rag-Thane spoke to each other about Danes training.
" we will have to hold of cultivating lessons till he is eight, as he doesn't have a strong enough body yet." Dalm says in a serious face.
Cultivating without training the body first to have a steady foundation can lead to death in this world.
Rag-Thane Nodded at this as he lifted his goblet of Ale and downed a gulp. Afterwards he spoke after wiping his lips with his right arm.
"We can train him now and then once he's 8 years old he can begin cultivating with the other children his age." He said.
"Yeah but which technique will he pick, I'm curious of what he will choose as a weapon."Dalm Replied.
They both nodded at this, the weapon for a barbarian, is the most essential piece after Cultivating when it comes time for battle.
As Dalm and Rag-Thane spoke, Dane, who had returned to his tent was currently sitting cross legged on a stack of soft furs used as a bed here.
'Now I'm a step closer to my goal' he thought to himself.
When Dane asked for training, he wasn't lying when he said he wanted to protect the clan, but he didn't tell the whole truth.
Dane had a feeling that his clan was still in danger, he didn't know why he had such a feeling of dread, but he knew that it wasn't a good sign and that he must get stronger.
