"Dariol es allowing this?!" Corvina bellows. Her claws slice through the air and violently land on the slab of rock. The caramel tail darts back and forth at the news, and she snarls as she thought about it more. Black, angry eyes look into the impatient ones of Vera.
Before Vera could speak, a mer with turquoise hair interjects, "If oi rememba preciselaye, he had reminded es whaye we shouldn't venture unto o'er rel's when we wished ta seventeen years ago! Why the sudden change of spikes?" She throws her claws up, grabbing at the violet water and touching nothing.
Vera sighs, "Yes, and it was eighteen years ago. I've understood Dariol believes this visit will not only allow me to learn about this landris of his, but to aid in bonding with the quad. Their scales are already beginning to form." A smile stretched onto the mer's lips, brightening her entire face as well. Just the thought tingles her scales in excitement of their change. Vera couldn't wait to see their true colors.
"Speaking ev ya merlings, where are tey?" Corvina inquires.
The turquoise female smirks, waddling her chocolate colored fluke over the other siren's caramel fins. "Iseki's swimmin' with 'em," she grins with sharp fangs. The mer leans forwards, displaying her chest seductively while plucking a strand of noir hair from Corvina's scalp. She yelps, narrowing her eyes at the light haired siren.
"Shouldn't they be back by now, Nesrin?" Vera wonders aloud, concern for the merlings begins to claim her mind.
Nesrin faces Vera, smiling in comfort. She begins to open her mouth in reply when the laughter of gen and Iseki vibrate within the water. Within seconds, Elsa and Atlas race through the entrance of the cove, and Atlas begins whining about Elsa. A smirk adorns the beautiful gen's face while she puffs her chest and brushes off her brother. Her eyes brighten when they land on her moona, and the little merling jets towards her as the rest of the quad came inside. Iseki followed after Adare and Eira, the two talking with one another.
"Moona!" Elsa exclaims.
The three other merlings perk up at the mention of their mother, and immediately dart for her. Within moments, Vera is captured in the quad's grasp and multiple hugs come from all around. Elsa dives for her chest, hiding her face in the crook of her neck while Eira snags the fins beginning near the scales at her waist. A low putt begins to resonate within their chests. Adare seeks refuge within her arms, snuggling into her skin. He nips at the scales, but only to taste her skin to see her true self. While Adare calms his worries, Atlas nuzzles into Vera's left shoulder, wrapping his tail around her arm a few times. Each male merling shows affection towards Vera as the females begin to pull away.
Elsa doesn't give Vera a chance to speak before she excitedly conveys, "Moona, moona, Iseki took us ta swee Phywa's Twench!" Vera's eyes widened at her words, directing her attention and rage towards the male mer. Iseki only smirks, crossing his arms over his masculine chest.
Before Vera can feast into Iseki, Atlas adds, "Twas so finacular! We coodn't swee tah bottum." Vera's attention drops to the merling with the birthmark of the sun scattered beneath his eyes. His smile was wide and lights up the rest of his face. His claws grab onto her shoulder suddenly, and with a newfound strength.
A smile ignited across Vera's lips as the merling begins to unfold all the qualities of Phyra's Trench Vera already knew. "I saw ah scarbera, and— and uh, kalibari?" Adare knits his dark brown together in uncertainty. The creature settles within her arms and ponders, attempting to remember the name of an Aquatician predator.
"A klamaeri, Adder," Eira aids her brother in finding the right word. The moon's littered underneath her noir orbs shines in the rays of the sun. A smile lifts her mouth as she cuddles in her moona's fins.
Vera gasps, glancing at Iseki before asking her gen, "You all saw a klamaeri?" The white haired mer looks into each of her gen's eyes, daring to see the same answer. She's horrified when her suspicions are confirmed, and directs her attention to the Alophe. "What in Theanore's power where you attempting? And a klamaeri, Iseki, could you be any more reckless?!" Vera snarls, diving for the damned siren. She pushes her gen behind her and races for Iseki to kill him.
Iseki takes cover behind Nesrin, daring to hold the mermaid in front of the enraged siren. His brown irises dart back and forth from Vera and her claws, uncertain if he could escape this fate. The white tailed siren growls, irritated the mer decided to hide. With rage fueling her mind, Vera was ready to kill. Nesrin was the mer to guide her attention from the fit of rage and settle the burning eyes onto her. A gentle touch soothes Vera's mind, suddenly clearing her of any negative thoughts before the turquoise haired mer releases her.
"Vera, tah quad is safe an there is nothing to dread. There is no longer a threat," Nesrin speaks in a monotone voice, almost hypnotizing the siren.
The siren inhales deeply, closing her eyes from the amount of stress she found herself creating. Adare is the one to lace his claws with hers. The action causes Vera to glimpse at the little one holding her hand, and she bestows Adare a small smile. Looking into his eyes a few more moments, she turns away from the lightning birthmarks and nods to her fellow mers.
Vera can barely think straight with the stress of a new realm and bringing four gens along with her. It was a big move, one she tried to escape from, yet the result was inevitable. As Vera glances behind her, she sees Elsa braiding Eira's hair, which has now grown beautifully passed her ribs. Atlas has taken interest in hunting a small urchin near the bed of rocks towards their bed. Another sigh of relief leaves her lungs.
Vera returns her attention to the mers. "I don't know if I should go," she admits after Adare leaves to aid in his brother's hunt.
"Is tere a rayson?" Iseki suggests, leaning around his mate to speak. "Er da ya suppose a trap lies ahead?"
Vera ponders on the idea for a moment. She remembers nothing too suspicious, nor part of some kind of trickery. Genuine emotions had flown through her father's soul, and she caught glimpses of what they were. If he had lied, there was no slip in his character or his act. She knew he could've have faked those burning emotions; for how strong and fierce they were, she knew there was something deep between the two. Vera had decided then she would figure out the true story, her mother's side.
Corvina gasps, "Dariol cooldn't be that wicked.. woold he?" Her dark eyes dart to Vera, worry clouding her judgement. A frown graces her lips before her attitude bursts. "I will not allow this ta happen!" The raven haired siren snarls. Corvina slams her fists down again, denting the rock where her fists lay. Rage seethes from her scales as she glares menacingly at Vera.
Blinking, Vera automatically admits, "I've already agreed."
Corvina hisses in contempt. "He might be sendin' ya ta ya grave, an ya won't attempt ta save ya fam?" Her eyes dart behind the siren's shoulder, pausing at the sight of the four merlings bonding. Corvina connects her gaze with Vera once again. "Don't bother comin' back if ya sink, noreeth armina!" Corvina gnarls harshly before desperately leaving the cove in a haste.
Vera blinks again, confused at her sudden outburst. She swallows firmly, holding back her own rage and going after her. Nesrin flashes her a grand smile. "She's only upset because yuh get to travel an she stays," she giggles audaciously, knowing the siren was still near.
But that didn't stop Vera from looking after her retreating form.
