Chapter 3 - Grandpa Xi

As they were having a peaceful sleep turmoil was happening in a meeting between high-ranking officers.

There was one man who was as calm as the clouds. His eyes showing obvious disdain for the people in front of him. He had a stern face.

"We have to decline. Those brats will be disposed of sooner rather than later. If they go out into the world there will be more resistance. " a middle-aged man said.

The man's sentence almost made the old man cough out blood from anger.

"I agree those brats will bring nothing but trouble."

'Slam'

The old general's hand hit the table in anger. "Don't be too cocky" he shouted and the hall went silent. "or will you give me no face"

Even though the man was old his dominant aura clarified what his words meant. He had spent 35 years in the military after all.

Everyone was immediately was aware of who the big boss was.

The people they were talking about were his disciples and these people also didn't seem to realize they were also children.

No one dared to argue with Old General Xi, even a bug with a pea brain knew that it had to give him face.

"So they want to take a break. Even if they want to take assignments outside of this camp who would dare stop them." he stood up with a straight back and snorted " Keep dreaming, Dismissed. " he walked away.

Everyone in the room slowly stood up. There was no need to argue as Old General Xi's words were final. Even if the building crumbled if he said stop, would the building dare?

They would have a new chance sooner rather than later.

Old Xi walked towards the campus and took in a deep breath. He was now 73 years old he pondered when he died how would he protect them.

His son had his own family and his daughter was too immature. He sighed 'this heavy burden on my heart'.

The next day Eumin and Yangmin attended morning training.

They ran across the track, did the formal exercises and target training.

Yangmin and Eumin were special. Yangmin was on a 50-meter moving target while Eumin was a 200-meter target. They hit the ninth ring or bullseye on anything that they tried after the first week.

The rest of the unit was on the 20-meter targets which were good considering they only trained for a month in a half.

After they left the canteen they were called to their commanding officer's office.

"You guys leave has been permitted. Please uphold military laws while on leave. If possible find a place to train too." he smiled at them.

Eumin and Yangmin were shocked that the leave was approved but it didn't show. In their last life, every leave they requested was rejected.

Yangmin suddenly realized something so he briskly walked out. At this time that person was still alive.

Eumin knew too but wasn't surprised. She went to their dorm to start packing up. She then looked through her memories and remembered the office hours of Grandpa Xi.

Eumin grabbed her bag and threw it over her shoulder. 'Time to visit Grandpa Xi' she thought.

Grandpa Xi was in the middle of chatting with some old friends in his office. He figured the twins would be here soon.

Just as he thought that two knocks sounded on his door. He stood up excitedly and invited the twins in.

"Hello Grandpa Xi" Yangmin smiled as he came in. He then greeted his superiors with a more military-like greeting.

Eumin entered and gave a military greeting but other than that she just gave a solid nod to Grandpa Xi before remaining silent. Old General Xi didn't mind because he knew Eumins personality.

"Grandpa Xi, did you help us with the application of leave," Yangmin asked even though he knew the answer.

"Little boy don't you already know the answer. Who would dare bully you under my eye," he bellowed angrily.

They also knew this. In their last life due to being directly trained by Grandpa Xi, they were not targeted as much by people who disliked their existence in the military.

Due to this many held grudges against him so when he died they became the target of the pent-up frustrations of the others in camp.

Anyway, they still regarded him as an impressive person in their minds.
