Chapter 8 - Adopted (l)

Numb, that's all I felt. We were tested Combat, Intelligence, Memory, Reflex, Instinct. They pushed me and my brother and to get rid of the enemies.

When I survived because I did as I was told only caring if my brother lived or died.

We were the best so they trained us until we broke. We were not ignorant we were one of the smartest in the country but we were trapped. On our last mission, I heard my brother's first wish. I died right alongside him.

"Man had I just woken up sooner," said Yangmin while he was in tears. He rarely broke from a smile that was so fake it made my heart shake. If it could even do so.

Eumin woke up and winced and looked over to see her brother getting dressed.

The boy had skin so white it started to shine. His emerald green eyes looked like jade and his ears drooped. The short black hair made his skin look even lighter. His eyes lingered on her face for a while and then finished dressing.

"We came back to the military camp, Eumin," the boy said. His name was Yangmin and his identical twin sister Eumin. She looked the same except her part closed at the tips of her hair.

"Our bodies' conditions are the same as we were nine. If you try to remember how we died we get a headache. You should run a few laps we have to get used to the miniature bodies." he said before he went out.

They received leave from the military's with Grandpa Xi's help and then graduated from first degree elementary.

..........

3 years later Eumin stood up and looked at her brother in the shirt I made him. "What, does it look weird?" he said. His voice was indifferent to anyone to the bone except his sister who had an equally chilling voice. "No, you think this design will work" he replied indifferently. In reality, he knew she didn't care if they rejected it or not either way she only said she would provide clothes while they were staying at the orphanage.

The kids looked about 5 years old but they were 7. They had pale skin and dark silky hair. They both wore their hair short. The girl wore a mid-length dress while The boy wore some shorts with a customized shirt.

" Hey, someone just walked in," Eumin said without looking in his direction.

"So"

" Go greet them"

" Oh" he replied lazily, he already knew 'oh yeah, greet them' was his line.

Yangmin got up and looked toward the target. He put on his stunner smile and said "Welcome May I interest you in something" he then pointed towards the men's section. The man looked at him for a moment and then said "where is the owner of this place" he stopped and looked around.

"Oh my younger sister is busy I may be able to help through '' his eyes turned cautious and cold so did his voice. Anyone who was a threat to his sister must be eliminated.

"Older Brother" Her eyes were calm and devoid of much expression. She calmly shifted her eyes towards the man. He was a beautiful man.

" Hi, I am the owner of this place. Do you need something" her voice echoed with no respect. She looked around and saw everyone excluding her brother, her, and the man silent. Even his guards were silent. She revised her statement "Hi, I'm the Owner of this place, follow me" Eumin walked away without waiting for a response. She most definitely was not going to let this man scare away her income *cough* customers.

Yangmin looked at him and saw that this man was handsome. Not just handsome but drop-dead gorgeous. He also looked just like his sister and he surprisingly felt familiar. Extremely handsome eyes that were like the ocean, carrying an immense depth and wisdom in them. He also had a pointed nose, thin lips, and a dangerous aura. Although it was low profile since the man smiled politely.

" You're being a disturbance, leave," Yangmin said after the door was closed. He did not know this man. He didn't want to know this man, but he needed this man "OUT" he spoke in his normal voice but that could already make someone feel as if there was a blizzard in their hearts. "Yangmin, you're being too loud to the visitor" Eumin glared at Yangmin and turned to meet the man's face.

"Sir, may we ask who you are. If you can not answer I will have to call the police for disruption of business " She didn't smile.

'Pft' The man smiled. "Hi you can call me Papa or father or dad"

Yangmin knew who this was. Someone who thought he could adopt them. "We aren't under the orphanage; we pay rent to stay in one of their sheds," Yangmin said quickly trying to deflate the man's desire to adopt them.

Yangmin wasn't lying. When they first came to the capital they saw an orphanage that looked pretty crappy but had a nice sized shed. They asked a friend from school to dig out some information. When they were done they got some good dirt of embezzlement and threatened the director. They weren't evil so as long as the people didn't abuse the kids' everything was fine and worked such. The second they laid a finger on the children everything would blow.

Eumin then shifted her expression to a fierce one. "Who are-" The man cut her off circled the room and chuckled again. "Hi, I'm your new adoptive father" The air in the room stilled "My name is Jiang Ai and I will pick you up tomorrow at 7 'o clock", and he left the room.

Eumin walked around the room and her fist landed on the wall. Not surprising Yangmin, the wall got dented though. He calmed down and went to his sister. His sister although graceful could also be described as quiet, bellicose, and allergic to bull. Although she didn't talk a lot she was never one to keep her feelings under wraps.

This was how their day ended. Eumin going to sleep while Yangmin was coaxing her. They then both fell asleep putting what happened at the back of their mind. Never did they expect the surprise found in the morning.
