The raindrops fell over her face, instead of the usual smile, Luna's face was now filled with fear, tears freezing over her cheeks on that rainy night.
"Catch Her!"
"This way! She is here!"
Those calls forced her to get up as the men continued to chase behind her. Hugging her shoulders, Luna ran, her every step hindered by the heavy breeze around. Taking out her phone, she tried calling her manager who was currently unreachable.
"Shit. I don't wanna die here." Crying in frustration, she ran with all her might and reached the empty highway. She fell tumbling over the road and her body numbed, that feeling curbing her cries.
Soon the rain got heavy, thunders banged aloud making her feel dizzy. The lightening clashed along, forcing the men to reconsider their thoughts and they stopped a mile away from her. Taking the moment, Luna tried to get up but her body was busy, taking a twirl of changes unknown to her!
[Congratulations, you will be transmigrated into a new body soon.]
Something rang in her mind, but she was too busy helping herself to stand up and save her life. Soon, she felt a burning sensation on her back, the pain breaking her down on that empty road.
"Ahhhhhhhhh!" She screamed touching her back as the pain continued to torment her. Soon everything started getting blur, her body slowly slumping back on the road.
She could still see the men standing afar so she tried to get up but her body withered, cutting down her last hope to live. Her started to sink, her body going into a state of dormant.
Everything stopped including the clocks and after an hour, the time started to tick again from were it had stopped taking everything back to normality! The gangsters looked around in confusion but at the rare sight of fragile girl a mile away from them, they immediately rushed thinking that it was Luna!
"I don't wanna die." She mumbled as the men surrounded her, those tire eyes slowly closed, luring her to sleep again, after the tedious process she went through.
"She isn't the one!"
"Yes, she isn't Luna!"
"I think she ran into the woods."
Those vivid, unclear words still hummed around her, mixing with the sounds of heavy thunderstorms.
"I will come back!" She whimpered, shutting all the thoughts she had, entering the world of peace.
---
An hour later.
"Miss,"
"Miss, can you hear me?" The touch on her cheeks waked her up and she dizzily looked at the guy, her eyes trying to get a clear picture of him.
And as he tied to help her sit, she felt relieved for some odd reason. He soon covered her with his black coat and she sighed in gratitude.
"Are you okay?" His voice was clear now, like a mellow song specially designed for her to hear.
She nodded and got up, only to frown sensing the drastic changes in her body. The weakness she felt hours before, had now dwindled down along with that burning sensation on the back.
"Thank you." She forced to speak and her voice sounded different, her vocals were never this hoarse? Were they?
[Congratulations, you have been awarded with a system! To access it, please follow our next instructions carefully.]
Thinking that it was just some mixed thoughts, she looked around and sighed as thunders still echoed along with the breezy rain.
[Step 1 - Get back to the city.]
That voice in her head wasn't clear and the storms made it worse. Shaking her dizzy head, she looked at the guy who was busy staring back at her. She looked familiar and was recollecting all the faces he had met recently.
"Can you drop me at the LiverLake Hotel?" Luna finally spoke and the guy nodded opening the car door for her.
Hopping in the driver's seat, he drizzled his wet hairs and started the car. His gaze was dark but his golden orbs had a different story to tell about him.
"What's your name?" She asked in a demanding voice and that made him blink in confusion. And when she continued to stare at him for a reply, he could only make up one.
"Oscar!" He answered, looking straight ahead on the road.
"Haha, I am aiming for one actually!" Luna chuckled and later shut her mouth, as the guy didn't laugh at her stupid joke. She was just trying to distract herself from the voice that was ringing in her head, maybe because of the rough night she had today?
A few minutes passed in silence and Luna had her own thoughts to keep her busy. Who actually tried to attack her? And where was her manager? Searching for her phone, she sighed realizing that she lost it somewhere during that chase.
But then, she remembered something sort of offering money for helping her to someone? The memory was vivid and confusing, that she started getting an headache again.
'Maybe it was him!' Amusing him to be the one well in fact it was the bus driver from earlier, Luna cleared her throat.
Facing him, Luna said, "Give me your number and address, I will personally send my manager to thank you for helping me today ands send a check as well."
Holding back his urge to roll his eyes, Oscar simply looked ahead, ignoring the weirdo. To avoid her further ramble, he even connected the music station and increased the volume.
"Oh, are you my fan?" Luna jabbered on, as one of the songs she sang in her movie was next in the queue.
"It looks like you are, haha!" Luna chuckled and looked out of the window. Poor thing, she wasn't aware of the fact that she was currently in some stranger's body, with a complete different face!
"Foolish!" He muttered under his breath, as the lunatic continued to chuckle at him as Actress Luna's song played.
"This is actually the best song I sang till now and it really destress one's mind. Isn't it?" She added with a smile and before he could cut her crap, she closed her eyes and leaned back on the seat enjoying that song.
[Step one completed.]
[Now please enter your old penthouse]
The thunders outside crushed that voice in her head which she believed was the guy beside her. Opening her eyes, she asked, "Did you say something?"
When he didn't reply, she smiled and mumbled, "Don't be shy. It's normal for fans to be like that, but you don't have to be. You are my savior after all, haha!"
Oscar just held back his anger and tuned in the radio. Thinking that he was feeling awkward, Luna just smiled and remained silent. It was common to see people blush around her and she was very used to it.
"Breaking news - Actress Luna body was found in the woods. Her company confirms her death."
Hearing to the horrific news, Luna laughed out loud and that was the end of Oscar's patience,
"How can you laugh on such a sad news?"
Luna laughed again, "I am still alive so it's really funny when people spread such false rumors. Like come on, I was just running in the woods and they call me dead. Hahaha, foolish channels!"
The car suddenly came to an halt and taking a few long breaths, Oscar opened his eyes and looked at her, "Miss, are you on drugs?"
It was really the end of his patience. This girl was just speaking gibberish and he just wanted to throw her out of his car.
Blinking in confusion, Luna unbuckled her seat belt as they have reached her destination and chuckled, "Nice joke!"
"Thank you for the ride." Getting down the car, she rushed towards the hotel which was just on the opposite side of the road.
Looking at the girl running in the rain, Oscar couldn't help but pity her future.
"These elite girls." Commenting under his breath, he drove off towards his company and Luna just shrugged entering the hotel, she would anyhow track him with her manager's help!
Reaching the desk, she smiled to the lady on the front desk and asked, "Can I get keys to my penthouse? I forgot to carry them along."
The staff looked at the unfamiliar girl and sighed. It was common for elites to do that, so scanning her one last time, she asked, "Ma'am, last four digit of your number and the secret code please!"
"Oh, yeah. 8437 and secret code is superstar!"
Confirming the details noted on the computer screen, the staff took the card and passed her to it. Taking the card, Luna smiled and walked in the lift.
Entering her empty penthouse, she turned on her TV and slumped on the couch.
[Quest completed]
[Congratulations, you have passed the entry level missions. A mentor will be allotted soon for further upgrade redemption of your system. Please be patient and hope you have a good life ahead.]
Luna shook her head as the voice was now clear, very clear for her to hear and reflect upon.
"What was that?" She thought scratching her head and what shocked her more was the news on the TV screen.
"This is where Luna was found dead. The cause of death is still unclear."
"Huh, these bunch of jerks!" She cursed pushing all her hairs back from the shoulder. She held them in a ponytail and rolled them to form a bun, but her eyes widened sensing their shortness.
Touching their edges frantically, she freaked as her long wavy hairs were now short, only up to to her chest!
Wait, what was happening here?
Rushing towards the bedroom, she opened the door and looked in the mirror.
"Arghhhh!" Her scream went loud, as she stumbled back on the cold floor. Touching all her face, hairs with her trembling hands, Luna shivered at the unfamiliarity.
No, it wasn't her! It wasn't her face, it wasn't her body!
"Was I really drugged?" She thought, biting her trembling nails. Because only those things would make her have such delusions.
Getting back on her foot, she trembled and slowly moved closer to the mirror. With horror written all over her face, she touched herself looking at the new reflection in front of her.
"Who Who are are you?" She mumbled as tears danced in the corner of her eyes. Emotions now flooded more with distress, sadness enrolled in as she clearly felt the changes, the new reflection of her.
