Walking from one corner of the room to the other, Luna bit her nails in confusion.
"Wait, side quest! That means I can skip it right?" Clapping her hands, Luna hurriedly checked the time of her funeral and walked towards her closet.
Shuffling through the outfits, she took a black suit and placed it aside. Checking a few more details about the funeral, she sighed laying back on the bed. Taking the printout of Hazel, she looked at it familiarizing with the new face she had!
Rolling back, Luna hugged the pillow, as thoughts of Kaden filled her again.
"Who is he?" That was the only question she needed an answer for!
Running out, she took the notebook where he wrote his phone number and neatly tore the page. Keeping it on the black suit she would be wearing tomorrow, Luna sighed.
Opening the secret locker in her wardrobe, she pressed the passcode for a smaller locker and took the money she needed the most at that moment. She first needed to buy many things and she was sure, leaving this penthouse as soon as possible would be the best option.
Taking 70% of the money from the locker, she took a bag and filled it with other essential things she will need for over a month. Zipping the bag, she deleted the search history from her laptop and turned it off. With a tissue, she wiped it clean for the fingerprints to clear out. Placing everything in its usual place, she took the duck and put it in her vanity bag.
Walking around her penthouse, she sighed enjoying that homely feeling for one last time. It almost took 5 years for her to make millions from acting and leaving everything she earned, just clenched her heart. Her beautiful career, her loyal fans, the stardom, the wealth everything would now be abandoned even when she was alive!
"It's fine! I need to except my fate!" She sighed confronting herself looking at Hazel's picture. Soon, sleep embraced her amidst the chaos that was happening in the hotel.
"Sir, a lady around 20 checked in the penthouse." The staff informed to the manager who nodded.
"Bu Bu But there are rumors that this penthouse belonged to Luna. So, how can," The other guy added and stopped when the manager glared at him.
"I am well aware of things which I should be! Just focus on your job." He yelled and the staff ran out bowing one last time to him.
The moment they left, he frantically took his phone and dialed a number.
"Sir, someone checked in Luna's penthouse."
"Okay, I will keep an eye on her." Cutting the call, the manager put on his serious mask and went on rounds.
Next Morning.
Waking up, Luna did her Yoga as well as routine exercise she followed as an actress. Taking a hot bath, she wore the clothes and they were a little loose. But they were fine to manage for an hour. Keeping back her urge to use makeup to avoid any future problems, she took the vanity bag and walked towards the door.
[Quest Activated - Use any other mode to exit]
[Rewards - 100 EXP]
The system echoed a new quest bringing a frown over her face.
"Dude, this the topmost floor! How can I jump from here?" She grumbled, annoyed at its stupid joke.
[Special Reward - Hazel's ID card]
And that tempted Luna making her go back to the hall. Slumping on the couch, she hugged the vanity bag and sighed.
Thinking for a while, Luna grinned as a better option came to her mind. Running to the entrance, she opened the footwear cupboard and counted the rows. Among the 9 rows, she touched the sixth from the top and pressed a red button it had at the center.
Ding!
The sound gleamed her in victory as the wardrobe slowly opened. Moving it aside, Luna entered the private lift which manager Lim once used to take her directly to the parking lot. It was something only the hotel CEO, manager Lim and the construction people were aware about.
Reaching the ground floor, the lift opened to the parking lot and Luna immediately rushed out. Wearing the mask as well as her sunglasses, she exited the hotel and sighed in relief.
[Congratulations, you have successfully completed the Quest]
[100 EXP will be added to your account]
[Congratulations, the special reward is allotted to you]
"OMG OMG." Luna gasped as a ID card magically formed around her neck.
"How's that po possible?" Closing her mouth in shock, she scanned the card with other hand.
"This This This is real!" Checking it back and froth with both her hands, Luna swirled in excitement.
Looking at the details, she grinned touching the AP News logo! She was really an intern at the best news channel in their country.
"Muahh!" Throwing some kisses towards the sky, Luna continued, "I will make sure to work hard and achieve the things you wanted to!" Kissing her ID card, Luna thanked Hazel who she thought might be looking at her through sky before hiring a cab.
Reaching the memorial hall now filled with people all in black, Luna's eyes teared up. Her fanbase was sure huge but she didn't expect to see such a loyalty towards her. Placing her index fingers at the corner of her eyes, she controlled her emotions and walked inside.
Looking for the reporters station, Hazel scanned the huge crowd once again and rushed to her station. Two bouncers blocked her but the moment she showed her ID card, they left her in.
There were around 100 people mixed with camera men and reporters with mics. To avoid being noticed as Hazel, Luna walked to a corner and just stayed behind!
"It's surely a huge loss to the whole nation!" A cameraman mumbled with a disappointed look.
"I will surely miss her." The reporter behind cried while another girl passed her tissues.
"She was always humble at every press conference. Even when some jerks throwed awful comments, she used handle with smile."
Luna could only smile, standing behind as reporters continued to shower her in praises.
"But, we never knew she had such a sad story behind. I am not sure how she hid everything behind her smile." Those words confused her as she leaned a little forward to heed carefully.
"I just feel sad that as a loyal fan I couldn't see through her depression!" Someone else repented, wiping away his tears.
'Depression?' Luna thought at the change of story line.
"She should have at least thought about us, her fans before taking such a big step!"
'Big step? What did I?' Luna frowned as the reporters continued to comment about her.
"At least her brother, who will be alone now!" Other commented and before she could enquire anyone, everyone got up from their chairs as the funeral took place.
Her little baby was holding her photo, his shoulders being supported by Manager Lim. He looked pitiful and that just teared her up.
"Zoom in,"
[Congratulations, you have successfully completed the quest!]
[400 EXP will be rewarded soon]
The system announced as Luna's body was brought out. Unable to handle her wave of emotions, she walked towards the other exit of the Hall.
Walking in the woman's restroom, she took long breaths and waved herself with both her hands. Looking up, she tried to control her tears which didn't back off.
"Uff, it's fine. I am still alive. I will get to see him!" Luna confronted taking a few more deep breaths.
Washing her face, she looked in the mirror and sighed. Questions just got piled up and right now seeing any article or paper was her first priority.
And now she understood the real value this system held! She was sure with it's support, every stone would be turned leaving behind nothing but a hell for those who back stabbed her in the past life!
"I need to buy a new phone!" Thinking, Luna wiped her eyes and hanging the vanity bag, she walked to the exit wearing her shades and the mask!
Reaching the road, she waited for a cab and glanced at two men who were looking at her, standing on the other side of the road. One mostly looked like a gangster with the vibrant clothes he was wearing, his persona same as of a gang leader. Her nerves tensed up and she just impatiently waited for the cab!
"Hey, isn't that Hazel?" The gangster pointed at her and the other guy nodded in an instant.
"Hey, Hazel!" They waved at and ran towards her making her freak in frustration.
'Hazel as enemies with no masks,' That sentence from last night blinked in her mind.
Looking at the gangster who was currently crossing the road, Luna tensed up taking a step back.
'Run!' That was the only thing which came to her mind and she did the same running as fast as she could on the pavement.
"Hey!!!" The gangster what she considered him as, called looking at her fleeing petite.
"That was our Miss Intern, right?" William asked to the other guy who nodded with the same confusion.
"What's wrong with her?"
"And why was she wearing a mask and sunglass?" He turned to his colleague who shrugged back in confusion.
