Chapter 9
Frederick Claw ~
"Your Majesty!" "What brings you to the eastern coven at a time like this? By your looks and hers I can tell that whatever it is, it's worse than we heard." said Liam, the head guardian and overseer of the eastern vampyre coven where Morgana had used her magic to transport us both to.
"No doubt! There's a war coming and even now, I have no idea of who and what we are up against but for one thing, it's something that I have never imagined and it's coming, sooner than later." I said releasing my blood-filled sword from the grip of my hands as it fell hopelessly to the marble ground.
"The Royal coven has been infiltrated and I have little hope that there were any survivors." "We have to warn everyone…. Every creature in this world of the impending danger heading our way and theirs." I added walking up to meet Liam.
"I don't see the queen. Don't tell me… Was she???" Liam asked with a concerned look.
"No! Of course not! They were not able to get to her. I didn't let them. The Queen Sofia is not here…. Not anymore at least." I replied folding my first in anger and pain alike.
"What do you mean by the queen wasn't harmed by those beasts but still, she isn't here?" Liam asked slowly transforming into his vampyre self.
"Calm yourself!" I said giving Liam a clear view of my fangs to show and remind him who the superior vampyre here is. It's a long story but if you must know, she is at the human world carrying out a very significant task and for one thing, she could be our only hope of ever winning this war."
"I'm so sorry. My apologies for my vulgar behavior. I was just a bit pissed that's all." "Few days ago, lycans attacked us and stole very sacred and powerful vessels." I heard Liam say as his vampyric transformation went into a reverse.
"Frederick, I don't mean to interrupt what you two have going on but…." said Morgana from behind the two vampyres.
She pointed to a figure not too far away from where they both stood.
"That's… Not… Possible. It can't be her. She's gone!?" I said in confusion walking up to meet the figure that appeared to be floating. "Alessia??" I alleged and the creature made a swift turn with a speed quicker than anything that I have ever seen.
"Frederick!" she interjected with her head on my shoulder.
At that moment, I thought I was either in a dream or what was going on was actually real and that Alessia, someone whose corpse I set my eyes on a moment ago was somehow back to life. It was rather difficult to believe it but I wanted to believe it.
"Alessia, how? When?" "I missed you. I really, really missed you." I said hugging the life force out of Alessia. "I don't know how but the important thing here is that you are back." I added.
"Was I ever gone?" she asked.
"Queen Alessia?? The last I heard of you, you were captured in your pregnant state." Liam said.
"My baby! My baby! Where's my Elena?" Alessia asked suddenly with worry written all over her face.
She remembered everything that had happened before she got here, including the part when she died.
"I can't say for sure where the infant princess is but I may be able to explain why you're alive again." I heard Morgana say.
That statement didn't make Alessia feel any better.
"Morgana! You were there. Where is my Elena?" "Frederick where's my baby?" "Someone should say something! What happened to my Elena?" Alessia asked giving me a very firm and very worried look in her eyes.
She wanted her daughter in her arms but how do I explain that the infant princess and Sofia were somewhere in the human world beyond our reach at the moment.
"Alessia, while you were away, things happened. I want you to first of all know that Elena is in good hands. The best hands I knew was paramount for her." I said in a soft and possessive tone.
I had Morgana take us to this coven with the intent of seeking refuge and another possible shot at taking those beasts down but it seems that the chances of that happening are very slim. First of all, I now need to explain the whole trauma and line of events that occurred to Alessia after she had passed away.
"She is with Sofia! In the human World! Somewhere, there!" I added placing her two hands on mine.
"What exactly happened after I blacked out?" Alessia asked with a well of tears gathering in her eyes.
At a point like this, I had no choice but to tell Alessia the entire turn of events right from when the lycan leader became one of the most powerful and erratic kinds of lycans in existence just by drinking out of a small bottle to, when a large population of mutant lycans came crashing down the gate and up till the moment I pushed Sofia into the portal holding my niece in her arms. I sat her and Liam down on a round table and disclosed it all to the hearing of them both.
"If not for the fact that you are my king, I would have said that you are under a magical spell. No one has seen a mutant lycan in centuries and now you make mention of seeing and having a fight with one and hundreds who got those legendary abilities just by drinking out of a bottle?" Liam asked in visual confusion.
"I can hardly believe it myself." I replied. "And according to their leader, that was just the tip of the iceberg of what his master can do."
I expected a lot of questions from Alessia but it seemed like the more I waited for her lips to get in motion, the more silence prevailed over them. I could see it in her eyes and through our bond, I could feel it within herself. PAIN.
What I couldn't make out was the reason in particular behind it. Right now, there's a whole bunch of reasons for us all to feel pain and anger within ourselves but knowing them from each other is all but possible. She has so much to feel pain over if not anything but for the death of her mate, King Leonard and the loss of her people.
"I'm so sorry!" Alessia said finally as a drop of a tear accompanied by others fell down her cheeks.
