Chapter 28 - From Nanny to Teacher

"Hehe," The receptionist grinned as he saw Luo Si moving towards the exit. He was about to light up the second incense when he suddenly had a feeling that made him roll down cold sweat on his back for a second.

He wanted to continue in his movement when Luo Si calmly said from outside "Old man, do you mourn for the dead? Save that stick for someone else."

The receptionist smacked down the coated pice of wood, feeling played by Luo Si. The guard had a wry smile on his face when he saw the red headed old man behind the counter looking at him.

Even he had felt a slight chill from the little girl's direction, making him tighten his grip on the spear.

Luo Si went to the luxurious decorated tent of the Fu. Hantian had called her earlier to come after visiting the library. The entrance opened up by itself when she came closer.

"Come in." Hantian and Wuying were waiting inside. The Elder was drinking tea while the brat held a bulge on his head, in pain.

The maidens were a bit uncomfortable, fastly getting ahold of coolings in case Wuying would ask for them, but the new addition did not get pertubed. She liked Hantian's style.

The inside of the tent was unexpecting bigger than one would see from outside. It was as big as a living room from outside, but felt like the size of an apartment from inside. A handful of servants could be seen, cleaning up or waiting for orders.

"You returned faster than expected. Was your first visit to the library not good? Is Min Jiedai still sitting behind the counter?" Hantian was very curious about Luo Si, since she looked very promising.

"If you mean the old man behind the counter, yes, he sure is a pain. As for my success, I've taken a little insight on a necessity." She replied. A servant was shocked from Luo Si's monotonous way of speaking and some more seeing Hantian ignore it. That was a senior of a noble family.

"So mysterious." Long lost vigor rose in Hantian.

He had not come across a treasure chest so alurging in many years and could not stop himself from pocking it. "From what I've seen, your will is strong and you can hold your own against those at your level. Well our foundation technique is not ordinary, Afterall. These kids are not your match. Your ambition is even bigger. You want to go outside. An essential for outside. A movement skill?"

Lou Si craked a grin, confirming the aristocrat's guess. 'This old man is definitely more than just a merchant.'

Wordlessly affirmed of his guess he continued. "Your understanding of what you have and what you need is very mature. Sadly, not all share your wisdom." Hantian looked for a split second at his nephew.

Wuying turned his head sulkily. The boy felt wronged.

"I was thinking that, because you are his age and may know what turn of event he needs, you would become his teacher."

Luo Si expressionlessly tilted her head. She did not want to waste time on some stubborn and ignorant spoiled brat.

"Ho-ho, don't be like this. I know it's tough work." Wuying's cheeks turned red. Abashed by his uncle's comment.

The boy tuned around and grabbed onto his uncle's clothes. "I don't want her to be my teacher. She will surely think of revenge and kill me." His pleading was thrown aside between the two negotiators. It was clear to people on stand by that he had no say in this.

"I even prepared a reward." Luo Si lifted an eyebrow, as she saw Hantian cram in the void. He obviously had not prepared anything.

"Oh, how about this?" A piece of dark purple gray silk was pulled out of the ring. "Considering that you chose a movement skill, you will probably go outside town and do some hunting. This veil is ideal for you."

The cloth was as big as a piece of paper and laid flatly in his hand. Not leaving much of an impression on Luo Si. 'Does he take me as a simple girl? Whatever, I do not go back on my words.'

Since she had sworn loyalt and was bound by contract, there was little to disaggre on.

However, upon touching the fabric she had a slight turn in her speculation and took the veil with a nod, feeling a little suspicious. It would be odd for a person of Hantian's spectrum to keep something of no value.

She went to a mirror and tested it out. Her figure became fuzzy and hard to identify. Even under an examination of hectic actions, the indistinction prevailed. 'This... If I think about it, I have attracted much attention lately. It would be good if nobody identified me in my doings.'

"Lesson number one will start tomorrow." The blurred figure said and left.

Hantian had a smile on his face, Wuying, on the other hand, could already feel his stomach turn.

The newly appointed teacher walked to a secluded area outside the town. "This is quite exciting. It feels like a second unboxing." Luo Si was finally able to look at the cause of her headache after forming a magic brain.

Sitting down she opened her mind, analyzing the well woman's second gift. The encrypted translation was slow. Only when the sun met the horizon did she prick through the surface.

"Han San palm." Those were the first words she decipherted. "This technique, does it relate to palm strikes?"

Reading on her question was answered. "The first move is called Frost Palm. The plam is blunt and cold. It relies on coldness and is able to deal great damage. As for the next…?!"

A barrier appeared when Luo Si wanted to take a look at the second form.

"The palm art is complete. I am sure of that. Maybe my strength is too low, since I can't even determine the rank of the technique. Guess I can only learn the first form as of now."

The sun was about to say goodbye when Luo Si decided to give it a try. She walked up to a tree and took a deep breath.

'Hah' A palm, emitting cold air meet the tree trunk. It left behind a small imprint and the area of the imprint froze a bit, as if the palm print area had been put inside the freezer for a day, or so.

"The first fist is better than imagined." Luo Si was pleased at the result. Yet, her body was shaking a little bit as if to reject the extra boost. She sat back down. "Looks like I am not ready yet. I should refrain from using it as of now until I find a solution."

Having walked into a temporary dead-end her attention drifted and she started compiling the other untouched techniques.

A the end of her session, she realized that it had already turned night. Luo Si had understood the basics of 'skid step.' Based on the law that high speed was achieved through the least amount of friction, it taught to glide above the ground on the tip of her feet.

The next day arrived and Luo Si already stood in front of the tent. Fu Hantian greeted in a calm manner. Unsurprising to the earlier, Fu Wuying was not by his side.

"It appears, Wuying is not feeling like going outside today." Hantian had calm face, wanting to know how the newly promoted teacher would act under such circumstances. His nephew had stoically refused to attend his privat lesson.

"The air is fresh, good for a walk." Luo Si replied in an unfazed way.

"Hehe, the day calls for a walk indeed. I wish you great success." Hantian liked her way of thinking and called the servants to prepare a tea spot on a hill, as he made his way, while Hong Luo Si entered opened the tents entrance.

If Wuying didn't want to come out, she would go inside. As easy as that.
