I couldn't believe what I was hearing, actually I didn't believe it, the facts lined up but I couldn't be that girl, I couldn't. I take a step back from Julius and Macy,or Molly or whoever.I then widen my eyes and shake my head.
"No, no no no no I am not some savior you guys are crazy." I began to turn and walk away then felt something grab around my wrist and pull me. I swung around and ripped my arm from their grasp
"Don't you dare touch me" I say to her and turn and begin to run. Molly's voice bounced around me, I could hear her saying "Stop! running from what you know doesn't help." I didn't listen to her, no not now. This wasn't real. I ran for the door and slammed it open, throwing myself out and I fell on the ground. I stand myself up and look as the two of them are making their way towards me. I turned and began running, I wasn't going to stop, who knows what they would do to me. That is when a saw that flash again this time was from the top of the roofs, it had to be one of their accomplices. I wouldn't let them get to me. I darted between buildings but the shadow was still following at a distance.
I was getting away as fast as I could. I didn't want this not now. I keep running and then reach a place with several trees. I dart inside and keep going. It was getting darker and darker as I continued, soon I didn't hear the vehicles anymore or see the shining lights from all the buildings. It had become deathly quiet, and almost impossible for me to see anything in front of me. I shuddered from the cold on my feet, I didn't have shoes on only socks. I was too panicked to think of anything to grab. I had no jacket, no knife, nothing. I had never felt this vulnerable before and I knew I was afraid. Then I realised I was close to one of the sanctions borders, I could hear movement around me and then saw five shadows. Five people who didn't stand too far away just stood and watched me. I froze, then tried to turn around to go in the opposite direction most likely from the way I came but when I turned around I was surrounded by trees, I stood in a clearing with those five people on the opposite end. How do I get out of here now? Think think fuck. My thin tank top and pants didn't give much warmth and I could hear them getting closer to me, I stood there as they walked up behind me. One of the people somehow recognized me and said to his friends
"Oi is that little lady I think it is, you know that girlie from them there posters ye see everywhere?"
One rubbed his chin
"Oi mate I think you might be right, what was the reward for her return to the governess?"
"Wasn't it like 15000 call up the others were going to have a bit of fun with her first."
One step up behind me and touching my shoulders I flinched at how cold his hand felt.
"Hey we aint gonna hurt ya we just want that hefty reward for your capture"
I turn around and slap the man hard across the face
"Dont fucken touch me, nobody is allowed
"Fine then we will just take you in by force. Boys grab her now!"
I tried to fight back but anytime I hit one another would then grab me it took almost ten minutes before I was just too tired to fight and too many hands trying to hold me down. A potato sack was pushed over my head and my hands tied behind my back. The last thing I remember was something hitting my temple before I fully blacked out
"This is R. She ran into the forest and hasn't come out the other side I'm going to enter."
Meanwhile outside the forest…
Molly and Julius had been running down the street trying to catch up to Cyra before she entered the forest. They stopped and didn't dare to go in. as they stood the huffing and puffing a figure had been watching from the rooftops. It jumped down behind them and began walking over. They pull the hat off and their long white hair moves with the wind. She walks up behind the two and hits their backs in a playful way.
"Oh boy what did you two idiots do?"
They both jumped and looked at her
"Oh god Ray are we happy to see you. Cyra is not taking this new information well and in a panic she ran in there. You know one of the few places we don't go into" says Molly
She rolls her eyes. "Well if you two wont do it I will we cant let her fall into the wrong hands, who knows what will happen to her if she's returned to the governess. She might die for all we know and if that happens Cormac will be devastated. We need to save her alright so you guys are either with me or I go at this alone.your choice." she says with a hardened stare.
Julius and Molly look at one another then back to Ray then Julius speaks up.
"Ray, your rights are a family here, and even if we don't always want to bring others in sometimes it's best to put our own feelings away to help another. Cormac cares about her and even though I might not agree with it 100 percent I will help. So let's go get the runaway back before she puts herself in too much danger." he looks at her then she nods in approval at both him and Molly.
���Good alright let's go get the child"
"Uh she is the same age as you ya know this right?' says Molly. Ray shoots a glare in her direction
"Shut it of course I know that but she's acting like one. Lets just go get her before she gets herself killed alright?"
Molly flinches a bit. "Alright sorry jeesh what's gotten into you."
"Don't worry about it, let's just go." she says as she walks into the forest, the two others walking behind her.
A short while later….
The three soon saw a break in the trees as they walked into the clearing. On the opposite end they saw five men who had just grabbed Cyra. Ray stopped herself and the others in their tracks.
"Okay I know this looks bad but it was not too late. We need a plan alright. I can see there taking her towards sanction 16 most likely they have a vehicle of sorts for easy transportation for themselves plus the extra passenger so most like a van of sorts. Molly you're going to help cause a distraction of sorts to get them off the road from there Julius you will come from behind to help deal with whatever we may face. I will climb through the trees and make my way there hidden. Once there we attack and save her. Got it?"
They both stand up straight "Got it Ray"
"Good. alright let's break the team. I will see you both on the other side." she says with a smirk as Julius and Molly run in opposite directions.
Ray jumped up into a tree close by and began making her way towards the group. She watched the van for a few minutes then watched them throw her into it. She was limp which was never a good sign. The van roared to life then began making its way towards the road. She follows close behind watching as it begins to turn. As it got onto the road she could see a flicker of Molly near the tree lining waiting for it to approach. As it did Molly jumped out in front of it. The squeal of tires could be heard as she jumped and rolled over the windshield causing it to begin to shatter. The van lost control and spun three times around before coming to a stop near the bankment. Now was her time. Ray jumped from the trees and landed on the roof. She looked behind to see Julius making his way towards them. She flips towards the front then smashes through the front windshield landing in the guy's lap where she proceeds to snap his neck. The guy beside him tries pulling out a knife but Ray beats him to it and stabs a throwing knife into his neck.
She gets out the drivers side door and by that time Julius was already ripping the back doors off their hinges. A man was right there and kicked Julius in the face, throwing him back a few feet. He jumps out and 4 others follow behind him. Ray comes from one side of the van and Molly was on the other. They both stood and walked alongside the van and got to the back. They looked at eachother then at the two that were at the back. They both pull out a knife then nod at each other. They count down from three to one then jump at the same time grabbing the two men. They wrap their legs around them then stab the knife through their hearts. They jump down as the two bodies collapse to the ground. While they had been dealing with those two Julius had fought against the one that had kicked him and another. They didn't want to use loud weapons so mainly they worked with their knives. Julius had two dual ended blades and used them to slice at the two men. They as well got a few hits on him but before long he ended stabbing them both in the stomach then picked them up with the knives and slammed them to the ground.
Silence then came over them except for their breathing. Julius had a few slices that were bleeding along his arms and chest and Molly had some from the glass earlier on. Ray turned and looked into the van and saw Cyra there limp on the ground. She must've been knocked out or something. She turned and looked at Julius.
"Grab her.. Please. We need to get her back soon, especially with how she is dressed." She moves aside letting Julius pick her up with ease. She looks at Molly
"M, call S I need to speak to her." she nods and pulls up her wrist and hits a few buttons. The screen flickers and then a woman with bright hair answers with a yawn.
"M what do you want at this hour?"
"Ray told me to call you. She needs to speak to you." She turns her arm outwards so Ray can speak.
"This is R, we got silver back bringing her to the infirmary now, she is currently knocked out. Have a bed ready for my arrival." the girl simply nods as they close the call.
She looks back at Julius and Molly. Then Molly calls for a vehicle. After ten minutes a matte black car shows up minutes later as they climb in and head off back to base.
They got there a short while later. They bring Cyra in and as everyone is talking about her and figuring out what happened Ray quietly snuck out of the room. She makes her way up several stairs then comes out on a roof. She walks towards the edge where an old chimney sat dormant. She leans against it resting her head. She turns to face out at the beginning of the rising sun. it was just peeking out over the horizon. As she stares she drops her hat and mask and just watches the sun rise.
