Chereads / Wolf in Ruins / Chapter 31 - The One

Chapter 31 - The One

Obsidia reacted on instinct, her flames surrounding the group as she got off Zero's back and began to step forward toward Rahmiel. Her hair began to flow like fire.

"Put her down."

Archangel looks down to her holding his grip around the woman's throat.

"You really have forgotten your place haven't you… It is a real shame. I had high expectations for the both of you and this is how you speak to me?"

Nieo slides down from Fenrir's back so he can step forward. He began to growl as well as Zero as the two stood beside Obsidia. She begins to take a step but notices Agaowen, the woman who helped them go through the arch, held her hand up without a word but Obsidia knew what she meant. She had lived for one purpose only, and now she has achieved it. Archangel raises his arm back and summons one of his swords as it appears in his hand, then plunges it into her gut.

"Any last words for the ones who could not protect you?"

But after asking that question, all he got was a slight laugh from the woman before she turned to ash.

Obsidia looks away for a moment then glares back at her old Master. Her fires began to radiate around the group.

"I see you have some anger towards me. Unfortunately I still have a few people who have anger towards you as well."

He crosses his arms and watches as a void of darkness opens up behind him on his right. A reaper slowly gliding out into view but instead of looking skeletal, the boy now looked as if he aged. His power no longer needed to be in his skeletal form any longer as he had spent what felt like decades in the void preparing his body. On the other side of him, Alister, his right hand man, appears in an instant.

"I feel as though we are missing one, Alister. Where is Drache?"

Fenrir's eyes widen as the thought of that Dragoness defeating Tiamat began to haunt his mind. Nieo dropped to her knees. Tiamat was always so kind to her ever since she came to.

"It appears as though she had to retreat. It seems the Goddess Tiamat did sever damage to her."

Fenrir relaxes then hears Nieo sigh in relief. She muttered something before standing up and walking over to Rahmiel. Fenrir could sense it from where they stood and knew these two had to be able to see it. As Archangel hovers in the air, the stench of Chaos soaked his aura.

"Rahmiel. We need to hurry. He could be trying to prevent us."

"That or it has already begun."

Archangel smirks as the sky turned from a dark to a crimson mixed with a dark purple color.

"You sensed it too Rahmiel. It's good to see you have yet to lose your touch. Chaos will rise again and this time your God cannot stop it."

Nieo could hear a low growl coming from Fenrir and she gently taps Zero's shoulder, slowly backing away from the trio.

"Obsidia… Zero… Take Nieo and go…"

The world never turned out like this before. He couldn't quite place it but something had been set in motion the moment he came back. Rahmiel had no need to look as she could already feel his anger and his new found aura spreading almost as far as Archangel's or her own.

"I shall hold him off. Do you think you can defeat the other two?"

Rahmiel watches out of the corner of her eye in time for Fenrir to disappear. His speed surprised her as this was the fastest she has seen any god or Immortal move at. She now focuses her attention back to Archangel and draw her sword, her pure white wings spread from her back like a bird.

"Ah just like when we used to spar. Shall we, Rahmiel?"

She leaps into the air, her sword slicing at him, causing massive winds to blow in his direction.

As the two Archangels now fight, the two immortals hover in the air, looking around in wait for his first move.

"Wraith… When you fought Fenrir, was he this fast?"

The reaper shakes his head at first but keeps on watch.

"No, but the longer he fought, the stronger he appeared to get…"

Within an instant, Fenrir leapt out and pins down the armored man and smacks him with his claw. Alister's chest piece had been caved in from the impact and holds himself in place in the air. Once Fenrir was gone again, Wraith summons summons another scythe and continues to stay on guard. He kept one blade behind him while his right handed scythe was held up in front.

Meanwhile:

Once the fighting began, Nieo and Obsidia got on Zero's back in time for them to flee the area.

"I would ask if you could sense it 'Nieo, but I fear even I can sense it."

Nieo didn't say a word as she kept her eyes down. The ride was quiet for the most part but Obsidia and Zero clearly kept their eyes and ears open.

"Do you hear that, sister?"

In the distance, the two siblings could hear a familiar flap of large wings.

"It didn't take her long to find us. Keep going Zero."

The sound get closer and closer the further they got from the battle. Obsidia looks back in time to be grabbed off of Zero's back. He starts to stop but can hear her yell.

"Keep going Zero! I will handle this."

He feels Nieo hold onto him and relaxes. He continues to run toward the direction of Archangels Castle.

As Drache carried Obsidia off, she reaches up with one hand, her flames covering her hand as she gripped tight.

"Do you plan on burning my leg? I am a dragon."

"Sure you're a dragon…. But can you handle these flames?"

Drache began to feel the heat through her scales, the fire burning even a dragon's flesh terrified her causing her to release her grip and watch as the flame bearer fell.

Obsidia felt like she was falling for several minutes but as she saw the ground grow closer she had to think. The fire began to surround her lower half and stop herself inches from the ground. Once she realized she was flying, she looks around for Drache first, but turns back toward the castle and flies off in that direction.

Fenrir was juggling himself between Alister and Wraith, attempting to deal with them at the same time.

"I'm surprised you haven't used that certain form, Fenrir. You caught me off guard with that."

Fenrir stopped where he was, at first he had no clue what he was talking about but began to remember the instance he lost control. If he could use that form, he might have an upper hand.

"Wraith! What are you doing?!"

Alister was confused as to why he was giving him an idea. He couldn't waste this chance as Fenrir was completely stopped, he charges toward the wolf in a blink of an eye for the kill but as his sword approached Fenrir, a cold mist and fog surrounded the two. His visibility had disappeared but he could still sense him as the mist into fog.

Alister stood in the frozen mist for a moment, but smirked as he had an idea.

"I do hope you know, I was the one who was controlling Set. I made him kill your siblings."

As Alister stood in the fog smiling, a low growl echoed through throughout the fog.

"How does it feel to face the true killer?"

The fog began to clear and the growling seemed to stop in front of him. Once cleared, he was now face to face with Fenrir, but this time he knew he messed up. Fenrir no longer looked like a wolf nor the form Wraith spoke of. His anger and his powers were now uncontrollable as his Lucan form took on the form of a demon. He stood taller than a man, his tail was now longer than himself. His face was that of a Lycan but looked like a demon from a nightmare. Fenrir now held Alister's sword in his hand.

"Alister… You just fucked up…"

Wraith spoke softly as he watched the demon below him face off with his companion.
