Spring time in London, England can sometimes be unexpected. Most days it is wet and raining uncontrollably; while some days it is bright and sunny. On this particular day, however; the weather was just right. It was a cool mid 70 degree sunny day with a cool breeze, cherry blossom trees were in full bloom and the usual spring tourists were out and about in the busy city streets of London taking various photos of all the historic sites the city had to offer. It was also around this time where world renowned music producer Scott Steven's assistant, Lexie; was coming from some important meetings dealing with Fifth Avenue Square's upcoming world stadium tour that she receives a particular video on her cell phone. Lexie then briefly looks at the video title and recognizes that its one of the many celebrity gossip sites posting about a recent announcement about starting the next leg of their press tour for the band's upcoming album. For the past several weeks now, Nathan Hendrickson along with his band mates Paul Bloomington, Calvin Harper and Landon Johnson were busy preparing themselves for another press tour for their next album to be released in the United States. However, what the band didn't know was that Scott was planning on having a certain up and coming author from New York to join the tour as well.
For Lexie; keeping secrets like this one wasn't all that hard to keep, but to keep it away from Nathan and his band mates; that's a whole other story. You see several months before all of this, Nathan met this one beautiful young lady by the name of Roxie Rodriguez at his aunt and uncle's pub; The Smouldering Hog, on a stormy summer night. Since that fateful evening, both Nathan and Roxie developed a special connection that was tragically interrupted by some startling news on Roxie's behalf. Now things at first were running smoothly at first once Roxie had left the UK, but after a recent trip Nathan's cousin, Annie; had taken to New York made things a bit more complicated for the couple. It was then in that moment that Scott decided to keep any news about Roxie a secret from Nathan in order for Nathan to focus on the band's next phase for the album.
Pretty soon Lexie was already at the main office entrance for Scott's producing business. She then entered the lobby, greeted one of the young secretary's at the security gate all while drinking the last bit of her last cup of coffee before she headed up the elevator to the eighth floor to Scott's actual studio office. Once Lexie had made it to Scott's studio office; she knocked on the office door. As soon as Lexie was granted permission to enter the room, she walked inside and saw Scott busy on the phone having a lengthy conversation with one of his many clients. Once Scott saw Lexie enter the room he gestured for her to make herself comfortable while he finished his phone call.
"Look, let's just stick with what we have so far right now and once I get back from this upcoming press tour I'll have my staff call you as soon as possible. Ok, sounds perfect. You have a good day." Scott said. He then hung up the phone and let out a long sigh.
"I take it you got yourself into another reasonable business deal." Lexie said sarcastically.
"I wish; Gavin Simmons wants to know when it will be a good time to visit me so we can discuss the beginning of his next album. Unfortunately for me I will be on the road with Nathan and the boys promoting Fifth Avenue Square's new album in the US along with Cassie and her debut album. Speaking of the press tour; how did the meetings this morning come along?" Scott asked Lexie while he poured himself a glass of brandy.
"Everything is running smoothly like always. The boys' fashion designer gave me these design ideas for you to look at for both Cassie and Fifth Avenue Square's upcoming world tour. I also sent you an email regarding the food menu that Nathan's family who are willing to go with us on tour as our caterers as well as everyone's medical history from their individual doctors. And also as I was getting over here, another media site posted a video about the press tour in the US," Lexie explained. "What I don't seem to understand is why you are having such a hard time on deciding whether to stay in London to help out Gavin. You do know I'm capable of handling Nathan and his band mates while their on tour and you're stuck here closing up loose ends." she pointed out.
"Lexie; we have gone through this several times already. I can't have you doing my job while Nathan and his band mates are away on the press tour in the US. The media will just get even more suspicious, not that they already are based on what the two of us know about the latest news about Roxie; but I'll also hear rumors saying that I'm a horrible manager to not only Gavin Simmons and Fifth Avenue Square but also to any other potential client I work with in the music industry." Scott stated. Lexie then walked over to where Scott was sitting and silently observed the man that hired her to be his assistant after she had graduated from college. It was hard for Lexie to believe that 10 years ago Scott had hired her to be his personal assistant. Back then, Scott was fairly new to the music industry as a general manager and Lexie had no experience whatsoever in working in an office. But for some odd reason; Scott saw Lexie's potential and hired her right there and then. Now Lexie was staring at the brave young man look like a stressed out middle-aged man.
"Scott; it's been 6 months since anyone from that group has seen or heard anything from Roxie. If anything, they probably have just heard about the success of her career of being an author. And as for the media trying to spread rumors about you being a horrible general manager; if you let me go on tour with Nathan and the boys, I'll have them along with Cassie and Roxie make a honest statement about you and your hard work," Lexie proposed to him. "We need to get away from all of these issues and focus on the next phase for everyone. If we don't things are going to get messy." she added.
"I thought things were messy already after Annie informed you about what she saw in New York. Then again; you're right about stressing out over everything. Alright; you can go on the US press tour as my stead until I'm done dealing with Gavin Simmons. In the meantime; I want you to video chat with me every night once you land in New York. If we want this plan to work; we've got to have a proficient communication and work schedule for everyone including the group of people that is planning on attending not only the press tour in the US but also the world stadium tour for Fifth Avenue Square." Scott instructed Lexie. So for the rest of the afternoon, both Scott and Lexie got to working on a feasible work schedule for the US press tour.
