Chapter 8 - Homophobia

"What's up with him?" the tall, long-haired male to the two small children who were in their unicorn pajamas.

"Donno." the older of the twins replied to her uncle.

"Anyway I and Haru are going to bed," Aika said continuing.

"Ok G'night~," Uncle Fuji said to the twins while giving head pats to them.

Walking to their bunk bedded room Haru asked his older sister after he closed the door "a-ano Anee-San w-wh-why d-did y-you lie?"

Awaiting her answer he kept interlocking his fingers which made his nails touch each other making a small ticking sound.

"Ototo do you remember what happened three months ago? I don't think I'll ever forget it."

'I would never forget the time that Daiken indirectly came out to us. Not a day goes by that I stop thinking about it. My big, buff, bubbly, bright, caring, dazzling, healing, soft brother looked like he was disparaging, in so much pain and very dejected. He was crying and kept saying those penitent words "I'm so sorry that I'm like this. I know that I'm disgusting. Please forgive me." I never want him to go through that again.'

(Flashback)

A long polite but sleepy yawn escaped whoever walked down the stairs."Morning everyone."

As he walked Aika greeted her sleepy older brother who was stretching and rubbing his eyes. Making his way to the kitchen Daiken poured himself a cup of coffee from the instant coffee-making machine and sat next to his younger sister who was doing writing something which looked like homework on the dining table.

"Haru is still in the toilet, he just went in and Oji-san is watching T.V.," Aika said without looking up from her book. With a sleepy yawn, Daiken said "Okay thank you Imoto.

Since it was Saturday he finished his coffee and went to the living room to his uncle.

"G'morning kiddo. That's odd.... you are the last person to wake up." Fujiwara said from the living room. "My drama is almost done you can come to watch in a bit." He continued as he poked his head out from where he sat. The soft sun rays illuminated his face showing his wide smile.

"Okay thank you, uncle," Daiken replied returning his attention to his little sister. "Aika the answer to question number three is wrong to check it again." He said to her before he walked to the bathroom to check on Haru.

Coming back from the toilet, Daiken sat down on the floor next to his uncle who was on the sun-kissed sofa to watch T.V. He crossed his legs and put his arms beside them comfortably.

"It's your time to cook uncle~," Daiken said while looking straight at the television.

"I know, I know~" Fuji replied getting up slowly from the sofa. Right, when Daiken took the remote the news went on interrupting the almost finished drama.

The news interpreter said: we interrupt this program to give you the latest news "Heavy rain that caused deadly floods in southern Japan has moved north-east, hammering large areas of the country's main island, swelling rivers, triggering mudslides, and destroying homes and roads. At least 58 people have died in the last 24 hours."

"Oh my, another" Fuji said from inside the kitchen.

"In more local news," the newsreader said continuing "a partnership program allowing LGBT+ marriages have been decided by the government. People of the same gender are now free to get married. That's all for today, stay tuned. Thank you."

"Wow, I didn't think that the government would give those privileges to people like that," Daiken said in surprise trying not to hint that he is happy.

"They must be out of their minds. What on earth are they thinking, Showing things like that on television? What will happen if children get corrupted? Utterly sickening." Fuji said in a tone that made him sound true to his words. "Anyway breakfast's waiting."

"Hey Nii-San, what's the ans-" Aika said stopping when she never something was wrong with her big brother.

Quickly running to attend to him, She put a hand on his left thigh and put her head under to get a look at his face. Covering his face almost immediately as she did so.

"Ahh, I can't wait to eat those pancakes. Come, Imoto let's eat" He said quickly getting up from the floor and going to the kitchen sink. After washing his hands, he quickly washed his face and sat at the tables.

Immediately Aika knew something was wrong with her brother. Quickly running up to him and pulling him from his seat she dragged him to the shared room. In the room sitting on the bed trying to wear his pants but remained unable to because he was interrupted was Haru.

"Aniki! what happen? Are you ok?" Haru asked, question after question which was not like him.

Making the taller, older boy sitting on her bed, Aika said "Aniki, Are you ok? You know you can tal-" She was cut off by sobs and sniffles. Tracing from it's coming from she notice him crying big, flowing tears falling from his beautiful hazel eyes which were now shading red.

"I'm *hic* s-so *hic* -so-rry *sob* I'll try to be more normal." That is all he said before he continued to cry even more.

The shock in Haru's eyes showed so much worry and pity. He quickly ran to his brother and hugged him tightly. Haru rubbed small circles on his big brother's back as a way of comforting him.

"It's ok Aniki. You can tell us when you are ready." Haru said which came as a surprise to his sister Aika because it's very rare to listen to Haru talk full sentences without stuttering.

Hugging back Daiken rested his chin on Haru's shoulder and held the tiny, fragile boy tightly close to him. Small sobs escaped Daiken's throat. Putting his cheek on his on Daiken's head he held out a hand for his sister to take. Holding it, they had a group hug to comfort their brother.

A while later Daiken fell asleep, exhausted, red, and puffy-eyed. Aika and Haru let Daiken sleep on that bed.

"I'll go get a cold compress," Aika said after she got an approval nod from Haru.

Just as she held the door nob, their uncle knocked on the door. "Yo, kiddos you guys ok in there? Can I come in?" He asked patiently without showing that he is panicking inside.

Opening the door like nothing happened Aika said "Ahh uncle, Daiken had a bad stomach and headache. I'd prefer if you let him rest for a while."

"O-Ok. Will you guys be safe? I have to go to work. I'll be back soon if you want me to help you with anything." He replied with a worried expression.

"Thank you uncle but we'll be fine," Haru said from inside the room. He was caressing Daiken's head slowly.

"Haru can talk in full sentences?" Was the last thing heard before uncle Fuji left the house.

(End of flashback)

"However could I forget Anee-San?" Haru said which shocked his sister considering it's been a while since that he spoke in full sentences.

"It's so freaking unfair Haru! It's so nice to hear you speak full sentences but you don't do it often." Aika whined which wasn't like her to do so.

Haru pulled the office chair which was inside the table in front of it. Right, when he sat on the chair it slipped throwing him off. Making a loud 'thud' sound, making Haru land on his bottom and the chair upside down behind him.

"Ouchi" was all he could say.

"Haru!" Aika said in a panic. "Are you ok?"

Not long after came a few louder footsteps, then the door burst open revealing a very worried, wet-haired older brother then another bed-haired older Fuji uncle.

"What happened?" the two said in unison.

"I-It's f-fine -A-Ani-Aniki," Haru said In an apologetic tone.

"Oh thank god." the two bed-headed tall males who were about the same height said in harmony.

"B-B-butt h-hur-hurts" Haru said between small sobs.

Dashing to the kitchen as fast as he could right after hearing that, Daiken brought an ice pack. He made Haru put it under his butt when he noticed their uncle holding a small container. It was a balm put it had a sensation as a side effect. Making Haru lay on the bed, Daiken rubbed the balm for him.

"Does it smart?" He asked as he continued to put it.

After Haru gave a nod Daiken stopped applying it and said "Be careful next time okay?"

Daiken when upstairs to his bedroom while he dried his wet hair with a towel that was around his neck the whole time.

"Sorry Shiro, Haru needed some help with something," Daiken said to the phone which he threw onto the bed after unmuting it.
