"Kousaki-Chan wake up." Said a calm, feminine. "You still haven't washed up." A tear trickled down his porcelain skin as he whispered "Yes mommy, I love you too."
Waking up in his sweet, caring sister's arms made him feel like crying more, because of the similarities that his dear mother and beloved sister had.
"Ahh, thank you for waking me up Onee-San." He said as he got up slowly cause of the numbing feeling that he felt down his legs. "God I smell bad." Standing up straight and sniffing himself he continued "how did you deal with this smell?" making a disgusted face.
Covering her mouth as she quietly giggled and patted her baby brother's head "it's fine. Why don't you go bathe?" She said continuing to adore and pat her little brother's silver hair which now contained a patch of brown, "I asked Madaline to draw up a bath for you in the toilet that is near your room. She also took out your futon."
Rubbing his crystal swollen blue eyes, Shirogane gave a short hug to his beautiful sister thanking her he went out of the kitchen and back into the dark Japanese-styled corridor. One by one each of the lights in the corridor switched on. Reaching his bedroom Shirogane did a 30-degree bow to thank the spirit who was responsible for turning on the lights. Opening his room door, there stood a spirit who was in all shades of green.
They wore a maid outfit, had chains on their ankles and wrists. Their hair was long and had the darkest shade of green. Although they were standing, their feet were above the ground.
To see a spirit whose features weren't visible annoyed Kousaki. It took him a while to recognize them. "Ahhh, Madaline. Thank you for your services," he said bowing again. "Please wake me up tomorrow as well. You are excused for the day."
"Yes young master," they said in a surprisingly sweet voice. "I hope the bath I ran for you is still warm. I refilled your pills that are in the dressing table drawer." Intertwining their fingers together the spirit bowed before disappearing into thin air.
Taking out clothes to wear for the night Shiro went into the toilet that aligned with his bedroom.
'Some people sometimes mix narcissism with love, that is the most horrible thing a person can do another. They are two separate concepts that I think should never in a million years get mixed in.' '
Without finishing his bath, Shiro came out and screamed from the toilet "Onee-Saaaannnn! We're out of shampoo" when another featureless spirit in shades of yellow popped right in front of him. "Gah!" He screamed and backed away from it. "Please knock or give some sort of warning. I might die of a heart attack with you guys."
'Each person has a different conviction when it comes to love and affection. Since everyone is different they should know how to forward the message to their loved one. If it's received wrongly the relationship is going to crumble.'
"My apologies young master." it said bowing, "M'lady said that she has put the shampoo in the cabinet under the sink." Floating towards the cabinet the spirit opened it and took the bottle. Keeping on top of the sink they said "Once again my apologies young master. Now I'll excuse myself." And they left, floating through the toilet door.
'Sometimes I feel pity towards them, spirits. They have gone through so much in their previous life. My big sister always brings one or two home because they refuse to take "your welcome, my pleasure" as an answer they follow her and help her with stuff. Personally, I think spirits have a better personality than people.'
"Ahh, that's better," Kousaki said to himself as he came outside in his favorite blue pajamas, matching baby blue facial headband that had cute cat ears to keep his hair away from his face mask and face towel around his neck.
Wearing his favorite pair of slippers that are pink and fluffy, he opened the sliding doors of his Japanese-styled bedroom and went down the brightly light corridor that led him back to the kitchen. Seeing his older sister cooking he went over to her, wore an apron, and took the vegetables that he immediately started chopping.
'Each spirit has a color according to where they stand in the hierarchy in their previous life. Even the servants who served their masters who were emperors and had a high status have their own color. Thieves and commoners too.'
"So Shi, how's school? Your gonna graduate in a few months." Anee-San asked trying to make a conversation with her baby brother as she turned on the stove.
"School's great. Most of our kouhai cried and congratulated us. It was kinda sading to leave such an awesome team. Shiro replied frowning at the thought of leaving his team as he chopped up the greens.
Noticing this Sobo Onee-San diverted his attention, She said "Haha, I bet that Tadahisa kid probably balled his eyes out." She said covering her mouth and laughing with Shirogane who literally on the floor clenching his sides.
"Pfft- H-How did know? He made a huge speech just for Kiko and she still rejected him." He replied as he tried his best to get up from the tatami matted floor.
'Onee-San is my hero. She saved me many times when I was younger. Every time I think that what I do to help her isn't enough. If it weren't for her I would either be living in the streets or tortured by my grandmother.'
"By the way how is Aoi-Chan's mother? I heard she was hospitalized again." She questioned trying her best to calm down from laughing too hard.
"Oh Yeah~ me, Daiken, and Aoi visited her today," Shiro said happily. "She's really sweet. Sometimes I kinda get jelly of Aoi, but aunty treats me and Daiken as her own which is very comforting."
"Ah~ that's great," Onee-San said taking the chopping board that was full of chopped vegetables. "Thanks for chopping the veggies. You can set the table now." Realizing her mistake she quickly corrected herself "I mean you have to keep everything on the table so that I can bring the dishes."
"Well duh. Obvi." Kousaki said confused by what she meant. "Did you think that I'd set the table into the air like a volleyball just cause I'm a setter?" He monotoned.
"Bahaha, Just kidding~," She said recklessly mincing the meat. "Ya know-" She was cut short when the sharp, shiny knife lightly glided across her thumb. Although it was a shallow cut it bled a lot. "Ochie!" She yelped throwing the knife on the board and putting pressure on her wound.
"Nee-San!" Kousaki said rushing over to her. "Oh god, you gotta be careful." He ran to the first aid box that was hanging on the wall as he called Merida, his sister's right-hand spirit. She was there beside her mistress before he says her name. Merida had also put a plaster on the open wound.
"Merida, your always faster than me," Shirogane said to the lavender shaded spirit. Bowing she left without saying anything. "She really is a woman of few words huh?"
After eating dinner Shiro said good night to his sister and went back to his room. He switched on the light of his study table, put the studying material that he was going to study for university.
'Onee-San showed me that even if we aren't related she'd treat me like her own sibling and best friend. She showed me that I could be loved as well. She was my salvation and haven. To lose her would be one of the most painful, languishing, and melancholy moments.'
