Grid looks a bit anger, they are in a large room. Commander Vers walked in alongside Commander Myr. Njuko smiled at her widely she responded with a nod. She looks marvelous her dressed hanging finely as ever.
Grid says, "like I told all of you, a waste of time! This is why the council is useless. I thought maybe because of this attack they could put aside their petty squabbles and do the right thing."
Grid isn't talking to one person in particular he is just venting his frustration. Njuko nods the conference did have a lot of people talking in circles.
"Boss I know it's difficult but the situation is unprecedented. The enemies attacked every part of the city not a single race is unaffected. I'm sure some of them are even afraid. Especially the Aziza they used some kind of field that hurt us too. We took heavy losses because of them." Commander Vers says lighting a pipe. The smoke is green and smells rather minty.
"Don't you start too, we would have done the same thing if we could. Those things are so tough to kill." Commander Myr says looking at the map of the city that is laid out on a grand table. She is very fetching in that dress of hers. Njuko can't help but smile at her whenever she glances in his general direction.
"Yes and they want to discuss responses. They know what to do but have to posture first decide who pays for and who gets what. They don't even know that the red mist has returned and they are already planning to divide rewards." Grid says his attitude turning ever more sour.
"Well at least you a project to work, why not focus on him instead of things that none of us can change." Commander Myr points at Njuko.
Njuko points at himself and says, "What project?"
Grid looks at him his eyes growing bigger, "Yes indeed, if we are all in agreement. We will start the day after tomorrow. That should put us ahead of even the Halls Hunters who will leave in a few weeks on an official mission."
Commmander Myr says, "Have you asked him thou does he know what you are planning to do? You can just pull a Thursday and hope you r plans workout your no God."
"I wouldn't want to be so weak as that, I might as well do it since we are all here. The three of your are the best of materials I have to work with you." Grid says to all of them handing out small parchments of paper for each of them. They are a contract to form a party together with him. At closer inspection while in a party Grid is the leader and three of the other are his apprentices.
Commander Vers says, "I have waited almost twenty years for this day. Boss I'm glad you have finally chosen to act."
Grid smiles and says, "Well a lot of things are happening in the world we need to handle them or it will be the end indeed. Especially this new enemy how could they make to city without a single warning something huge is going and fools think they still have time to talk it through first."
Commander Myr says," I'm agreeing for the power Master Grid, you said to my father that I would be trained in the first ways. I have already absorb the stone you gave me. It me three years but I did it."
Grid nods at her and says," I plan to train all of you in the first ways. Their are a few others moving to do the same. Njuko did you feel anything in the chamber earlier. " Everyone turns to Njuko who is reading the parchment instead of signing it like everyone else.
Njuko looks up seeing everyone eyes on him, he shys back little. Then he thinks besides the odd looking Aziza queen nothing really stood out to him. The sending from Ọya had been mundane.
Njuko says, "Not a thing felt weird to me," he decided to leave out the hottie Aziza because Commander Myr is the room and he wants her to think well of him. Which is odd since if she knew what he was thinking about her, she might not every want to be in the same room with him.
"That's a shame," Grid appears to be thinking then continues. "All of you need training their are tltwo more Elementals in the city and at least half of the new hunters are elementalists. You all need to get stronger. The time of peace is over, our enemies have had to go grow while we grew fat and weak."
Commander Vers says, "We can only be as strong as our enemies make us. I look forward to the instructions you will be giving Master."
Njuko sighs out loudly, signing the page handing it over to Grid.
Grid asks him, "why aren't happy you about to go on the journey of life time." Njuko really thinks about this is feels like a loop, he I always at the beginning of power. 'Back at home he is next in line for head of the family but he still has a lot to learn, the other space in the Seed world again he was at the beginning of his strength when he brought here to start over again.' He places his thoughts into a neat row and explains to Grid his loop theory.
Grid smile, "Ah young people always power now, true power is earned through hard work and little luck here and there. Let me ask you something. Did you learn anything? When the universe allows one the chance to be loopedit is usually trying to say something important. And whatever it is the universe has repeated it to you did you listen did you learn. Wha lt is your path? "
Njuko has not thought about it that way. He thinks not really seeing any pattern to it. He asks Grid."Is that really true how can that be?"
Grid says, "Often in life people miss the messages sent to them from God's, destiny or even chance. They struggle and suffer and toil believing that they are utterly alone. But if they had answered that call when it came, or took that chance that seemed impossible life. Their lives could have been so much more different. I dont mean better just a chance to not do it alone, even the things that must be done alone like a trial. If people ask for help from others someone might answer and even if they don't at least you would have tried which is all that really matters at the end of the day. When all the chips are out in front of you and people are counting your deeds they will ask did you try?"
Njuko, Myr and Vers all shakes their head each remembering an instance were of they had failed to reach out things could have worked differently.
Njuko says, "I understand what your saying but it very difficult at the time to know what's right or wrong."
Grid says, "That's not exactly what I'm saying. This is a chance for you grow to learn about the world before and protect those close to you. This chance is going to change your life. I want you to embrace that say that I will take this step In my life no matter how terrifying. Even if you fail the point is to try Njuko. To live your own life Myr and Find the meaning of life to you Vers. Each of you are young in your own way. Please be courageous today. Forwards is not a linear path as the most famous bard ever to said."
They all take it in trying to understand what he means beyond the surface. Njuko especially trying to understand his loop. To learn from it to take what is repeated in his loop and maybe learn what it is that he must learn to help him. The way Grid spoke was beyond truly enlightening.
Njuko says, "I will try to keep an open mind to the universes messages as you say." Commander Vers and Myr both agree.
Grid nods, "Good there is a lot happening and we will discover underlying cause and destroy it.
Commander Myr says," So how terrible is the training going to be?"
Grid smiles and says," it will be harder than anything else you have ever. Nay harder even. I'm not saying this to be overly dramatic. It is a fact that in order to learn the first ways requires superhuman effort."
The new party leaves the room heading to the Hall of the Hunters to register and move out. Commander Myr and Vers have a few other things to do so they go their own ways. Njuko follows behind Grid he is still thinking about what to do to be observent in future.
They arrive outside the hall sitting at the Cafe waiting for Myr and Vers.
