Grid is on his seventh jug of ale, and still drinking like a fish. He taps his chest as he finishes it off. He takes Vers first, hoisting him up by the arm and sending him off. Vers looks like a baby caught by a huge bear. Grid presence always makes him seem bigger especially now that he is a little drunk he oozes danger.
Njuko is next being beckoned over by Grids booming voice. Even the rats in the floorboards turned when he shouted.
Grid says, "Good bye, I will see you tomorrow I guess." Myr who has been nursing the same drink since they arrived, her cheeks are flush but she barely has had anything.
"Yeah good man, see you tomorrow morning." She says nibbling on some Naandos chicken. Njuko stands taking. A last look before moving to his new master. Grid is standing in the doorway block the exit.
"Njuko my boy come, come let me touch you." Grid is an affectionate drunk and hugs Njuko before helping him out the door.
"Remeber just go straight past the big rock you can't miss it and remember do exactly as I told you okay." At this moment he seemed perfect serious standing straight and firm like a real teacher. Njuko nods its only around eight at night. However it is darker than anyplace he has ever been. Apparently being at the bottom of a valley means that it's looms large over most of town.
Njuko indeed after tracing his steps past an old destroyed stone hall as Grid told him. There is an a huge rock. It petrudes out of the ground, a tall stone something to worn done by time be anything else.
There in the shadow of its presence is the dungeon entrance. A series of descending stairs. As described by Vers the dungeon entrance is usually some of form of staircase, some people call them doom ladders since before a dungeon is cleared the first time the entrance is only a ladder.
Njuko thinks why, Grid wants him to fight the he does. Not only does he have to only use his lightning he has to use his strongest shot everytime possible everytime. According to Grid it has to be so or else it won't work.
Njuko ces upon the dungeons first cave it's this dungeon has a network of caves and tunnels filed with enemies. The walls are much like a cave expect that the bright rocks only grow on ceiling here and are a deeper hue almost making the light they produce a smokey blue.
In the cave is his first enemy, a small gnome like creature it is munching down on an insect. Njuko now realizes why people fail this cave. Unlike before where he could just think about his spell internal clicking a switch an dthe it shoots. At this very moment he is still holding out his hand. Trying to flex the muscle. He can feel it is slightly out of reach. His body tingles warmly, like he is about to break out in a sweat. He has to Concentrate on that heat allow to flow through out his entire body building up energy. Then he guides it out through his hand. To the enemies gnome.
The bolt shoots out of his hand a loud, crackling light of white energy travels through the air. The Gnome collapses. The whole process takes about fifteen seconds for him. He goes to the Gnome, the body folds into itself Leaving behind a tooth.
Njuko pick up the tooth.
Gnome tooth collected [1/100]
Njuko moves on to the next cave there are two Gnomes standing far apart. Both are Grey like the one before with pale eyes and sharp teeth and arms big for digging. They really do like somewhat like a Loshi. In the way that a dog resembles a wolf.
He does the same thing this using the tunnel for cover. He plans to face the other Gnome, since the cave is big enough to move freely just like the last one. Njuko lift his hand finding his power and moving its around flowing to gather energy then his body warms a damp feeling all over his skin and boom the lightning comes the thunder follows the flash of white light.
Njuko is already running hoping to catch the second one. He arrive in front of the second his hand in front of him. He is breathing had disrupt the flow so he starts again. The energy building throughout him. He moves it generating power. The Gnome lunges at him. The energy moves slowly. Njuko tries to dodge but let's the energy slip it starts to dissappiate.
Ọya sends to him a memory of how she does it. Njuko is thinking of his ability the same a child thinks of a tool rather he should think of his ability like his shoes. When they are on he is free to move about and do whatever he likes he doesn't have to think about his shoes they are always there and he knows. Ọya is fond of him so she also sends a little trick to help him along, her shoe memory comes with socks.
Njuko thanks the heaven for a wonderful, partner like Ọya. She is always there to help him. Making him stronger he relies on her the amount of things they send constantly helping. Mostly its background info on plants and creatures. Njuko know the value of information and hers thou not mission critical helps him to understand her better. The way she things is helping cope in this Seed world and it's every changing narrative. Since he came to the Seed world she has been a comfort a sort way to tell that he is indeed in a Seed World.
Njuko thinks of how to put on his electric shoes. He starts with the socks of course. Building up energy, dodging the Gne oddly movement helps his generation. The more he move the more energy he has available it filled the bottom of his feet. Making him slightly lighter. Not that he noticed as he slips on a Shoe the Gnome In front is not very fast or strong and is already tired after the fourth blow it missed. Njuko lifts up his hand throwing the shoe at it. He is disappointed in himself he meant to use some of the power that had built up not all of it. Lightning is solid lightning strike, the sound echos throughout the whole cave. He gets a fright. However a sock is still on. He is sure that energy was realse but a sort resurgence occurs and he has a tiny drop left.
He moves sowing the next sock on, collecting the two teeth. He moves still generating it feels similar to that rock that Grid gave him only he is the rock and since it's his own power his body is naturally equipped to store and generate lightning. He generates more power his feet tingling. The feeling moves up his legs but soon he fills a discomfort like he drank too much water. He slips on his shoes which as he walks deposits excess energy while he counties to the next cave.
There are three Gnomes, one of them has a weapon. A short sword if Njuko used it might even be a dagger. He doesn't stop at the entrance this time. Since he wants to keep moving. The stupid Gnome gave Njuko such a fright when it through its sword at him. He ha had leap out of the way his body surging with power. He lands the other two are coming for him.
He lands hand outstretched, the power is already built so he doesn't need to do, the thought clicks like a hill of shoe. It shoots out Dropping a Gnome. The second one with his other hand drop. His shoe falls off. He moves running around until the energy is back and he can slip on some shoes. His socks are little longer.
The energy generated settles into shoes. He smiles at the third that wasn't chasing but rather had run to its sword leaving a huge gap between them.
He runs towards using the excess energy that is tingling in his knees. He shoots it out the blast striking true.
Grid is talking to the Tavern keeper, he hands her a picture of the enemies that attacked.
"Have you ever seen anything like this Lori?" asks Grid, he is still drinking but not in the least bit drunk. He eyes her up and down thinking about how that red dress should be a little sexier.
"No, I haven't seen anything like these creatures before and you say they attacked Dube city. What were the Hunters doing exactly arent you guys meant to be monster killers not monster food." Grid frowns thinking about how lax they have become.
"We did our job too well the later generation haven't faced a real enemy in over a thousand years. Maybe you could help out a little Lori?"
She smacks him with her drying cloth that she uses to wipe down counters. "No, I'm retired plus this village is my help. I have fought my fight I will not get involved in this live me to die in piece. I'm an old lady you know."
They both laugh indeed they have seen it all and removed themselves from the forefront. Grid isn't even the top ten of most powerful hunters alive. He wants to at least help these three achieve something. The upcoming has him very much concerned.
Njuko walks to the next cave their are four Gnome.
