Chapter 1 - Chapter 01

"So tell me. In our first session you mentioned a person. A special person that broke you, as you said. Tell me more about this person."

Silence.

"Y/N I am trying to help you. We need to get down to the root of the problem in order to cure you. I'm asking for your cooperation here."

I looked out of the window. Beautiful white snow covered the streets and children ran around laughing and throwing snowballs at each other. They seem carefree, almost pure.

"Your mother said his name is Dr-"

"Don't." I looked her in the eyes. This was the first time I actually spoke today; with anyone. "Don't mention his name. Please."

"I am sorry. I won't. I just want to help you. If he's the problem though, we need to talk about him."

"He's not." I laid my head against the cold window starring into the white scenery thinking about the first time we met. "I am the problem."

"Potter. Harry Potter.", the small cute dark haired brown with glasses too big for his face smiled reaching out his hand. He was the first person to come up to me when I first transferred to Hogwarts. I didn't know anyone there and even though I wanted to seem cold and unbothered he somehow knew I was actually looking for a friend. That's Harry. He just notices stuff about yourself even when you don't.

"Y/L/N." I shake his hand. "Y/N  Y/L/N." When his smile widens so does mine. He told me to follow him to sit with his friends. That's when I met Hermione and Ron. Back then I had no clue how much they'd affect my life one day. They were everything I was secretly longing for. A friend, someone I could trust; someone who I'd be able to call when I'm sad, happy, angry or just go to when I'm in need of company.

"That's such a beautiful name." Ron's pretty blue eyes sparkle.

Oh yeah. Ron. My first crush. That was definitely some drama but we'll get to that later. That's actually all you need to know about how we met. After that day we were inseparable. They went with me through thick and thin. Through every obstacle. They didn't even leave my side after the summer the year after when I changed. Change. Everyone kept romanticising changing saying that change is what makes people grow.

If this is what growing is I would rather stay that one little girl whose only mistake it was to wear that one light pair of jeans on the day I first got my period.

Things developed. We grew closer and closer and met many other people during that journey. Being new never felt this easy. Never once would I have thought that I - that antisocial shy girl from Beauxbatons - would easily assimilate in Hogwarts. But here I was.

Sitting with Harry, Ron and Hermione in a circle each of one building a different part of a giant snowman. Laughing with each other pretending like we aren't freezing so we could still play a bit longer.

"Y/N." Hermione whispers into my ears when the boys were distracted arguing about something so irrelevant that they probably won't even remember afterwards. "Do it, now."

"Are you sure? What if he says no?" I am nervous. Despite the cold weather my body gets warmer and warmer. I can feel the temperature in my cheeks rising and them turning red.

"He won't." She motivates me. My shaky legs somehow were able to stand up and walk towards Ron's direction looking back to Hermione one last time for the support.

"Weasley."  My high-pitched stuttering voice says. "Stand up." He does as I say and looks at Harry who just shrugs his shoulders to show that he also doesn't have a single clue of what is happening. "Weasley."

"Yes?"

Hermione sits down next to Harry observing the whole situation with big eyes and a broad smile across her face. Harry on the other hand looks confused.

"Do you want to go to the movies with me?" Thinking back it was so cute but in that moment I wanted to die because of the embarrassment. In that very moment I wished to completely disappear and I was regretting everything I did. I was even mad at Hermine for talking me into asking Ron out.

"Umm... sure. We wanted to watch that new Ninja movie anyway so-" He points at Harry but gets interrupted by Hermione.

"Are you stupid, Weasley? She's asking you out on a date. Just the two of you!"

His eyes widen and the colour of  his cheeks match his hair. Even his ears turn red. "Are you really asking me out on a date?"

I nod.

He smiles. I'll never forget that smile. I wish that his smile could heal all the heartbreak I went through later on. That smile was the last thing that I saw before my life turned upside down. That smile was the last thing I saw before hearing his laugh for the first time.

"Are you sure you want to date someone who's eating leftovers and who's wearing hand-me-down robes?"
