Day 1
Magic Research Journal
15/4/2021
Today, I discovered that magic is not only limited to the classics of controlling the elements or using technology, or even making people float with wands. Using the remaining SP given to me by the system, I found I could trade the 500 SP for a special kind of points value called Research Points, or RP for short.
But that bastard system tricked me. It turned out that the exchange rate of SP to RP was 3 to 1, which means I had to spend three skill points in exchange for 1 research point. So in total, I only got about 167 RP. Even if the rate was unfair, I can still bear it a little bit. But then again, the price of the Research in the store was unbelievable, with the lowest price one at 100 RP!
When I told him about, and I quote, he said; "It's not my fault you're stinking poor, kek, Pleb,"
I digress, anyway, the research package I bought is "Magic Types for Dummies". The name is a bit insulting, but I guess I can live with it if it teaches me more magic.
The first thing I learned with the research package was that magic came in different types and it is not only limited to the ones I know. It turns out that magic can range from Taoist spells to ninja arts, to ritual empowerment.
I guess it makes sense. In the old world, they defined magic as the power to use supernatural forces in accordance with one's desires, will, and beliefs. So in conclusion, any supernatural or sub-normal force that can be manipulated according to one's will is magic.
I went further to investigate this magic by observing the world around me with my drones. Recently I've noticed the emergence of other users of supernatural forces, among the commoners and the elite. Most of them are only gifted with ordinary abilities, unlike me.
Their abilities also pale in comparison in terms of the sheer power given off. That leads me to the conclusion that He is paying close attention to me. I don't know why, but I seek to figure out the true reason behind it.
In the meantime, I must get stronger, and that bastard of the system is making sure that happens by force-feeding me missions and making me go for brainless levelling expeditions, and by 'me' I mean my drones.
Can you believe it? Each time I upgrade the drones, they always get injured in the next mission, making me spend the rewards I get in the mission. It's a useful method of growth which I admit. But I can't shake the feeling that the one who calls himself a system is doing all this for a particular reason.
I have a few theories, but, oh shit! That bastard issued another mission again. Why am I so miserable, damn it, he even reduced the time limit to two hours, it looks like it's time for some brainless levelling.
Ray Kelly,
