Chapter 1 - Prologue 100 years prior

Prologue

100 years prior….

'It's definitely a night to be alert. Calamity has struck, Ganon has returned. Link is dying, maybe already dead. The Hero of Hyrule, dead before any accomplishment. And the princess is protecting Hyrule. Now I have to protect her sister…the other princess…the one with the carrier powers. Go, go, GO! Don't stop, don't let the monsters win.' is what the Sheikah guard thinks to himself, but doesn't say aloud to the second princess. They're both running along at top speed, owing to the monsters behind him. The girl, only seventeen follows along behind him, tears and sweat mingling with the dirt and scratches on her face.

They have left the castle in the distance – whatever remains of it. All the way towards Akkala. "CAREFUL!" rings a shriek from their side, turning to see who it was, shocked to see a lone Yiga fighting a hoard of Moblins alone. The princess and the guard leap in to fight, to help her. Her poor face, the mask has sweat pouring from behind it. "Who are you?" the princess calls over to the Yiga. "Rogue. You?" she calls back, chucking her mask across the grass. "Call me Juniper." The princess says, though that's not her real name at all.

Sending a spear through the last Moblin's head, the princess runs around to the mask, picks it up, and hands it back to Rogue. "No time! Let's go!" the princess yells, seeing more monsters in the distance. Rogue runs along with her, and the princess catches her and the guard whispering together. Rogue nods in confirmation to something the guard has said, and no more is whispered. Finally, they reach the covered entrance of the Spring of Power. The princess doesn't realize what's happening to her. She may never. Rogue says she is tired and decides to lay down. She volunteered to be frozen in time with the princess. She yawns and falls asleep, not to wake up for another century, when there may be nothing left.

Suddenly, the princess is drowsy, and the guard notices and asks her to sleep. She does, and darkness falls around her, entombing her in its grasp. The Sheikah guard makes sure she is completely asleep before beginning the ritual. This was to take all memories of everyone, of life inside the palace, of fighting the Calamity, of the Champions, of the Beasts, of her Divine Beast. In their place, he added memories of sixteen years spent in the Lurelin Settlement, of no parents, and no friends, but a close figure. A girl, a Sheikah girl named Rogue. A roommate in her eyes. He left the princess's fighting skills, as he knew they would come in handy, and turned her over. Dressing her in a simple prayer gown that had once been Zelda's, he prayed to the goddess statue to watch over her.

Rogue, he did the same with, though not taking memories out of her previous life, so as not to hurt her. He turns, blocking the entrance and covering the top over protecting it from outside dangers that could harm the two teens. The guard uses his magic to put Rogue and the princess inside the Goddess statue, where they would stay healthy and nourished through their century long sleep. The guard positioned himself in front of the statue and put a spell on himself to fall asleep and only wake up if there was an immediate danger or ninety eight years had passed. He felt drowsy. His mind went foggy. The last words that ran through his mind were 'Good luck Monsoon. The world counts on you now.'
