I hear a voice. 'Link. Link. You have to wake up.' I want to obey, but my head is foggy. I can't think. But I have to obey this. I push myself up out of a blue liquid, one that's quickly draining out of the chamber I have been laying in. 'Go to the sensor to your right and take the item that comes out of it. That is your Sheikah Slate. Keep it with you at all times, as it will guide you along your journey. Scan it on the second sensor, then walk into the valley and find the old man sitting under a cliff overhang.' Says this disembodied voice. I look around, trying to find the source, but seeing nothing.
I pick up the 'Sheikah Slate' and like the voice directed, scan it on the second sensor. I notice two treasure chests to my right and open them. They contain a ragged shirt and threadbare trousers. Only then do I realize that I am clad only in boxers. I quickly throw them on, and climb out of this chamber, and emerge into a gorgeous valley. I pause for just a moment, inhaling the fresh, sweet air, and turn to walk down to the overhang. I pick up acorns and mushrooms and plants along the way, even finding an apple tree.
The old man greets me like an old friend, and shows me the shrines, telling me they are puzzles. I head to the first one, right in plain sight, and it gives me something called a rune, and that 'rune' was something called 'Magnesis'. This continues until I have four shrines and four life forces of 'Sheikah People' called 'Spirit Orbs'. I now have four runes, that Magnesis one, which is a magnet, something called Cryonis, which brings up giant ice blocks wherever there is liquid, one called Stasis, which stops time, and two of the same, called Remote Bombs. They come in a sphere shape, and a cube shaped, to blow up in different types of environment.
The old man meets me at a weird tower, and I get part of my shattered memory back. This is of a great evil; one I have to fight. The world is in my hands. I get a paraglider, and jump off the Great Plateau, where I had been asleep. It is dusk, and my map says that I should head for Necluda, and then Lanayru, to fight Vah Ruta, a Divine Beast.
I stop and rest at the closest stable, the Dueling Peaks stable. The next morning, I catch a horse, and ride off, heading for Necluda. As soon as I curl up in the Necluda Stable, I'm asleep. The next morning, I wake up because I feel someone staring at me. A girl in the bed over is looking both at me, and into space. She has dark brown, mid-length hair, and the same color eyes I have, and scars all over her face. Dressed in a tunic that I don't recognize, I vaguely realize that she looks familiar, though I don't know where.
